It would be really cool to see both Keaton and Affleck's cut cameos as special features on a dvd, but I doubt WB want thode out in any form after cutting them.
Honestly, I’ve heard the movie isn’t that bad but I think it goes to show that the DCEU really was a failed gambit. Folks want to say the first movie made a billion but let’s be real; it was because of Momoa and that film had some cool visuals and ideas amongst a messy plot. And ok characters. As for this movie, I really wished Patrick Wilson was Arthur. He’s got the look and his presence fits Aquaman more than dude bro. Because I argue Aquaman is a cool superhero if you lean in on the fact he’s an underwater King Arthur. Someone who has a good heart, conducts himself well and wants peace between the world he was raised in and Atlantis. But alas we didn’t get that. We got Snyder Aquaman which is delusions of a guy who superficially clings onto images and tries to make a story and fails. Harsh words but really if Rebel Moon is any indicator, it goes to show Snyder is all style and zero substance.

The visuals look closer to those of Thor: Ragnarok, but I can't get it out of my mind when I see Mamoa cast in this role he's basically playing the same role he did on Another Underwater City: Stargate Atlantis - and that Atlantis part, just sort of ruins it for me. Stargate Atlantis had such better production values, visuals, dialog and plot.. this just looks so 'kiddie amateurish' like someone got the crayons out and left mommy and daddy's bank account open.
I think people are just tired of these CGI spectaculars. But I'm hopeful for the future because James Gunn seems to be able to have interesting characters, creative CGI, and surprise you with dialogue that you don't expect.
'Spectaculars' unfortunately tend to mean lots of meaningless noise, Hans Zimmerman film scores and Disco Lighting.. with talking crabs.. or perhaps in this case.. stalking crabs
Might just go see it now.

Given all the semi-positives I have heard about this film, and, honestly, the relatively inoffensive outings of Shazam! and Black Adam, I have to believe that there is probably the ABILITY by WB to provide a good DC shared universe. What we are seeing is more the momentum of ill will by the fans, the terrible handling of the marketing of the pending reboot, and, frankly, the failure of the Snyderverse overall (Sorry, Snyder-bros - if your Snyderverse was so good, it should have done better ... it didn't).
I think somewhere along the line.. these current film makers either never learned or forgot how to make.. a good movie.. you know one that makes you feel good when you leave the theater and want to see it again. These are so one and done disposable 'content'.. they feel like Kleenex to wipe your nose with at the concession stand.. or an excuse to waste time... and more often than not.. regret wasting time.
@@joey_after_midnight That might be a generous way of looking at it. I tend to think it's more "diversity hires" who were never qualified to begin with and they aren't actually TRYING to make anything good.

They WBD have lost 55% of the company value in 18 months. 30% of that since Gunn came in fired Cavill and burned his return and DCEU to the ground. Their stock price is down this week by 10% and they are 60+% chance of bankruptcy, according to some financial analysts.
Listen I hope you and others enjoy Gunnverse but I’m done.
I loved MOS, BVS UE and ZSJL and if Zack ever gets to conclude his story on Netflix I will be there with bells on.
But I won’t give WBD or Gunn a penny towards the DC box office.

I also noticed that the movies Zack wasn't a director on in his DC Films universe were not something you commented on. So that tells me that you don't care for the property, you just care about Zack.
What was the project Gunn fired Cavill from? Provide the title and the release date. If he was signed for a project with DC, surely the trades covered it. If you can't find it, it never existed, and Henry's firing is fantasy. You can't be fired from a job you never had.
Those "analysts" reporting on a chance of bankruptcy cherry picked data, limited to fiscal 2023. WBD has massively reduced its debt since Zaslav took over, and spent this year offloading films from the previous regime so they can start fresh in 2024. They even scored a huge win with Barbie which was put into production after Zaslav came in. Say what you will about the film, it was a modest tentpole budget and made it's money back and then some.
You are free and encouraged to love what you got, but face the reality of business: WBD will never let Zack "conclude" his story through a proxy production/studio, because his story never had a conclusion to begin with, and they won't compromise the rights to their IPs with competing owners. His films were too expensive to be profitable, and the audience wasn't there in the numbers required to continue it. You and your fellow fans got 10 years. Appreciate it, but stop chasing ghosts.
