I purchased the doweling set about a year ago. I also have their Mite-R-Excell II and their router table system. Amazing tools. Amazing company. And the fact that they're Canadian was a huge motivation to go with them: I'm a patriot.
Yeah, I was on a dowel jig kick awhile ago. I bought the Dowel Max and both of those Jessum jigs. You're right, the stainless steel is not only lighter and it just feels more accurate than their last iteration. However all three are extremely accurate and worth every penny. If anyone is in the market for a doweling jig, but don't want to spend as much as these cost, Milescraft recently released a jig that is very inexpensive but works really really well. Another great review, thanks.

I have bought a large number of Woodpecker tools. Yes I AM a WW who buys snobbish tools. There are a number of brand tools that do as good of a job as Woodpecker tools. Jessum is one. HOWEVER they are not as pretty. An important distinction when hanging on the wall. Unused.
6", 8" or 12".. and her answer was... Oops; my bad; Family Channel. Squares and rulers; I'd would like to see this in metric without the "scribe holes" ~ 60+ years and never had reason to use "scribe holes". As for the "grip tech" ~ cool!
Some less common grades of stainless steel are magnetic (410, 420, 440, 409, or 430). It needs to have martensitic or ferritic crystal structure to be magnetic.
I was very interested in this until i saw the price. $95 for an 8" square is captain insane-o. If you are a hobbyist and spend $95 for a square, something is wrong with you. Woodpeckers can keep their $250 squares. So can this company. They definitely saw y'all coming a mile away.
I'll bet you the that the materials used to make these tools originated in the US. When you buy Canadian you are also buying American. just like cars sometimes the parts and the steel etc.. have gone back and forth across the border several times.
Will they grab the lust to viewers that woodpeckers tool do. Just about every RUclips channel that’s about woodworking has a wall of red squares and rulers. If you’re real successful at netting subscribers Festool boxes are easily visible. I could never replace my starrett. I have one woodpeckers square and it’s too thick and clunky.
I subscribed to and went to your channel daily to watch your build videos from the outdoor furniture, small table the cover for the stove and enjoyed them all. I made your little table. I'm a fan of cost effective tools. Like the WEN rulers vs Woodpeckers. Innovation breeds competition and lower prices. Those who compete, flourish, those who ignore, perish. I'd hate to see that happen to to Woodpeckers or Jessem. They are a business school case study in the making. I can see it now at Harvard or some other famous business school as they talk about these companies in the past tense.
@@uhavenosushi Take it however you want. There is no way the delta between Woodpeckers and chinesium product manufacturing is that vast. Yes, it’s going to be more expensive in the US but not to that degree. Woodpeckers sees themselves as some kind of specialty company making common products a little better.
@@vmoutsop well they are a specialty company, and they do make original designs better. Designs that Chinese companies copy. So what is your point? That there’s no way the cost difference in labor is responsible? Well idk. A average machinist costs 6 times more in the US than china. Hmm. I wonder why American made is more expensive? Why pay an American when we can take advantage of cheap labor overseas.
@@uhavenosushi When you hawking your wares to professionals, that's one thing, when you start hawking to the general public, then you have to contend with competition and you have to be able to compete or die. If they want to be a specialty company selling to specialty pros then stop advertising to hobbyists on youtube and in woodworking magazines. I'm pretty sure pros don't watch youtube tutorials or read those magazines.
@@vmoutsop who said they’re market is professionals? You keep moving the goalposts. Fact is, they cost more because of their labor. I’d pay more for North American anything than Chinese stuff made on the backs of poor people.
Интересные угольники. Но похоже, они не выпускаются с метрической шкалой. Не совсем понятно зачем создавать инструмент, который можно применять лишь в паре стран, где до сих пор используется устаревшая система измерений.

you make great informative content but if you cut out the excessive, unnecessary comments, your content could be shorter by a quarter length. being precise in description doesn't mean you have to be so verbose. thanks.
I used to watch you make things in your shop/garage but now every time I see you,you are always selling stuff like advertising. Not wood working, disappointing!
Fun fact, the first several videos I posted on this channel were tool reviews. Then I did a mix of build and tool reviews, now back to tool reviews. I enjoy making tool content and will continue to do so for the forseeable future, Lord willing. If you're looking for build content, check out Matthew Peech or hundreds of others making that type content. I'm happy with my content, and enjoy making it. Not exactly sure how me making content is "disappointing" you.
As someone trying to get into more advanced woodworking I couldn't disagree more. Having someone breakdown different tools and brands helps to make my shop list. The only complaint I have is no reviews of the harbor freight tools.
@731Woodworks I'd be happy seeing a balance of reviews and projects, but I do agree about Matthew. He has some good stuff. I like your presentation but would like to see since of your builds on occasion. Still gonna keep watching though.
I like his presentation style and enjoy his tool reviews and "Things you should know" videos. I never saw his building videos, must have been before I discovered his videos.
You would have appealed to a far wider and more up to date audience if you had used the metric versions when displaying them. Imperial is a dead end. Every country in the world is metric. The only hang ons to imperial measure are old Americans. That's OK for them it's all most have known, or I should say want to know, but its a dying market place and forcing manufacturers to increase production costs by making two versions of everything, which when used as the primary display version as you do here, also enforces the continuation of two systems just for an old American market that is not officially supported (though recognised as optional in the private sector) by government or most manufacturing businesses who are metric.
My audience is primarily (by a large majority) USA. And in the USA, we use good ole Imperial units lol. There are metric versions of these tools, linked in the description and pinned comments for those outside the USA.

JessEm.com to get them in metric.
All of those tools are available in metric.
@@BrockTorunski Да, спасибо. Сначала я перешёл по ссылке на taytools, не обнаружил там метрических версий и написал свой комментарий. Но потом обнаружил их на официальном сайте.
you make great informative content but if you cut out the excessive, unnecessary comments, your content could be shorter by a quarter length. being precise in description doesn't mean you have to be so verbose. thanks.
Your a fan of being a shill... JessEm is good though.

Unfortunately i have to unsubscribe. I want to learn to build better, not be sold to in the name of jesus.
Lol
Woodpeckers have been selling their squares in an mdf wall holder for many years. Do a little homework.
I’m sure he knows that since he has a lot of woodpecker tools already.
And they introduced the tab on their indexable squares years back. Copy cat click bait.
In Canada we don't fetishize Jesus.
Second down and 2 meters to go!
