I have a content request. I have my electrical fuse switch box in my garage. I opened it one day and saw that sawdust had gotten into it. The fire risk was a rude awakening. Is there a way to seal up an electrical fuse box to prevent this from happening? A dust extractor is obvious, but I believe the dust got in while I was cleaning the walls and ceiling with a leaf blower. Is there a product or lining available to help ease my paranoia?
I started from ground 0 last year with my shop, had a circular saw and a drill lol .I'm a full on shop now air filtration and all, helped a lot with your vids Matt thank you, now it's a ton of little things like that dado stack I must get.. people including myself complaining about to many tool reviews, but in reality your channel is geared towards beginners and that consists of tools that are needed, I think some of these guys complaining on here just don't understand this...but I get it and appreciate it, I'm well on my way, took me a whole year literally to get all the machines and jigs I needed, I'm pretty proud of that, as it's not easy to do in that time frame lol ..
I discovered your channel a couple of months ago. Not sure how I missed it.... I'm an enthusiastic pro-sumer woodworker with a "shop" that's partly in a small room off my garage and a bunch of things that I unfold from my garage and I use in my driveway. I have a table saw, miter saw, and Kreg workbench with track saw. I have a small Kreg portable workbench as well. I can do a lot of things in the driveway or back yard and then tuck things back into corners and crevices in my house. I really have enjoyed your reviews and discoveries. It has inspired a few purchases and will inspire more. I admire the frequency and quality of your reviews. I really like your positivity. Your tee-shirts and signage don't go unnoticed, although I'm not part of your faith tradition. I do respect it mightily. We need more people like you on this earth.
That router is fantastic!!! It’s my sixth router(i might have a problem) and my favorite. Got the new Bosch and to me it’s the best cordless palm router. Love the plunge base although the dust collection parts are finicky. Anyway, never cared to have cordless routers but this one was game changing for me not having to have the hose and cord twist up doing circles. I make and sell lazy Susan’s quite a bit. Even without that application, it’s just all around, the best router I own now. The Festool 1400 is still at the top of my list but I must say that it isn’t nearly as important to me anymore
The Metabo HPT 36V is better and has been out for 2 1/2 yrs earlier we have two , one in shop and one in field and it can also be used with the AC adapter for unlimited run time And it's cheaper than the overpriced dewalt
Do you think the dewalt plunge router is a good first router for a beginner woodworker? I love the safety features this offers that other routers do not
Bought the CMT dado stack a while back after watching your channel, Thanks for the great advice Matt. I love this dado stack, super easy to use and the set up was quick and easy, Honestly Its priced very reasonable
Nice recap. My own shoutout for Taylor Tools. Great customer service and product selection. I bought the 3M Gen2 sander from them and highly recommend it along with the 3M sandpaper. The sander while not cheap @ $389, its as good as the Festool for a lot more money.
Great video to cap off an awesome year. I forgot about the dado set... I need to change from chicken to DO IT - I'll be putting it on my birthday list! Congrats on hitting a big milestone - we've loved watching you grow over the years!
Nice review Matt. I think another improvement on the new battery technology is their improved recycle count. The VGC channel did a review showing that they are cheaper in the long run because they can be recharged more. Now let me get over the TAY tools to get that sharpening kit! Thanks and Happy New Year. 👊🏻
I bought the chisel sharpener kit and made the 25- & 30-degree jigs. I modified the design slightly. I put magnets in the face to hold the chisel in place. I then raise and lower the drill press quill to touch the chisel instead of moving the chisel. I think it gets a better grind.
I found your channel in the last 6 months and just wanted to say thanks for all the great content!! Happy new year may you and yours be blessed in 2025!!
731 Woodworks.. Thanks for the recap of the stuff you reviewed. I still need a good jointer, track saw and dust extractor system.. One at a time! Well I want a lot more things but that will get me a start at it.
I got a cheapish jointer and it is far more trouble than just a couple long straight edges with a table saw (though a track saw would work) and a planer with a sled.
i watched a few of your videos and found every time i try to buy a cmt locking dato stack i find it out of stock everywhere, also i tried to buy the vevor precision miter gauge the one you advertised no one has them
Check out the 150nm Bosch drill. Might blow your mind with the onboard angle meter. As well as the anti rotation (I think it had it for a few years before DeWalt)
Great video Matt I bought some great tools from your advice and testing last year. Do you or anyone know if the Taytool sharping system would work on turning tools? What does Amy use to sharpen her turning tools? The grinder set ups are ridiculously expensive. Thank you
Bought the Milwaukee router before seeing the anti rotation dewalt, I hate when companies sleep on great technology. Wish they’d have put this out sooner!!
Great video as always Matt. Congrats on 700k to you and Amy can’t wait to see what you guys do in 2025. God Bless you both and Thank you for sharing your journey
This is totally random but I bought the same Ridgid surge protector you use on the side of your workbench and it seems like the "breaker" inside tripped or something. The main orange LED is still on but the green indicators for "grounded" and "protected" are no longer lit. Do you know if there's a way to "reset" the protection (other than the main power switch) or have you had any similar trouble?
I wish Milwaukee - or someone - would make that same sander but corded and in a "palm" design. Even with all that handle you still want to grab it close to the main body of the sander.
Based on your reviews and my needs within CNC works, I did buy the Milwaukee detail sander, it arrives today from Home Depot. I also purchased the Wen spindle sander from a month or so ago. I am excited to use both soon. Thanks and happy new year to you and Amy!
I would second that, but add that if you include an Oneida Dust Deputy cyclone or something like it on the front side of a shop vac, it will improve your dust collection significantly.
The cheaper shop vacs do ok but don’t hold up very long. I spent more for one with a bigger motor and hose and it works better, but I have to take the filter out and clean it every day. The filter cleaning feature would save me that hassle. I’m using a shop vac for now, but I want to get something better.
Good video again. The only thing I have an issue with is the love for the Kreg MortiseMate. First, it doesn't really pioneer anything since it is a modification of the Jessem unit (actual collaboration) and I think a good doweling jig like DowelMax is going to be generally as fast, as strong, and has more uses. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of Kreg stuff I like but the MortiseMate and its Jessem predecessor just don't seem like value to me. They certainly don't replace the Domino's advantages as it doesn't even come close to giving you the fast precision and flexibility of uses that you get with the Domino. One other thing? Drill motors are NOT built to handle the stresses of being effectively used as a router. You may find you have to buy a new drill motor sooner if you are using the MortiseMate. A good doweling jig uses a drill motor for its designed purpose .
Hey, just FYI since I think a lot of your subscribers have Sawstop table saws (I just bought a Sawstop PCS over the holidays). I was going to buy that CMT dado stack for use on my new saw, but thought I'd ask Sawstop just in case. They apparently don't like it: "Because of the geometry of the interior chippers, we would not recommend using this dado set as the increased mass cannot be stopped as quickly and also damage the arbor in the event of an activation."
I went to Harbor Freight and ordered - and paid for - the Hercules dust extractor after seeing your review on Dec 5. It is now Jan 30 and I am still waiting for it..... ☹
I'm still not sure I'd like the jigsaw with no trigger control. If you somehow lose control or drop it, does the blade keep running? The other features are pretty impressive. I am a little bummed b/c I bought the previous HP jigsaw at the end of 2023 for an immediate need and only used it once. I like this form factor. I just wonder if I'd adjust to the lack of a trigger.
Didn't the Hercules Dust Extractor come with a hose that is not static free? Nice performance for the price but you are subject to regular shock on contact with the hose?
Dust collection hose diameter for the dewalt plunge router, please. Maybe available in the link. Wondering if it is compatible with festool dust collection?
Yep, Festool hose fits right in there. See my full review of this router and you can see it. Not sure the diameter. ruclips.net/video/1etcjnetQDg/видео.htmlsi=Enxyjo5qMNKfAeyd
Those nonslip rulers are clever. I've actually been trying to figure out how to make my speed squares stop slipping when I use them to make straight cuts with a circular saw.
FYI the harbor freight dust collector is back ordered till march in my area. Also, nice Planet Ocean! I have the older one with the 2500 series co-axial movement. The early Danial Craig one. It is a little thinner so that made me choose that one.
Any plangs on doing a reveiw of the flex 10.25 inch table saw and the flex demo saw have seen very few reviews and none from ppl I trust. The review I have seen makes me want to take the plunge but I hate to get into a new brand of batteries again. Also can you or any of the viewers here tel me what the job site table saws surface are made from. They don't look like metal but I cant imagine plastic would holdup after constant use.
Sir, whilst a Canadian can be Knighted you sir cannot do it! 15:18 So save yourself from being visited by the Secret Service (ex colony’s dept) and cease the ‘jokes’!! 😊 He he he Great video Bob England
What about that company (?metabo) that allows you to plug their cordless tools into the wall? Maybe that wasn’t 2024….regardless that is pretty revolutionary.
Out of interest due to the motion detector on the Dewalt router. Is it possible to put it upside down on a router table? Or would the motion detector stop it from working? Great review update. 👍
@@731Woodworks Be good to try that out as a video? Would be the perfect router then for those of us who only need one decent router for both table and heavy duty hand work. 👍
I have been waiting for the HF dust extractor since the day you reviewed it. Up til today they still haven't shipped any to the store near me. In fact, they haven't even cataloged it in their lineup yet. I think that they had a problem with it and decided not to add it to their lineup.
I think the original video caused them to sell out. It happens fairly often with popular tools I make videos on. And since they are made overseas, when something sells out quickly, it take 3-4 months to get new inventory state side after they order more from the factories.
I've been a professional bench joiner for 7 years now and I've never come close to a router making such violent movement, is that really a necessary feature?
Of course not. But that won't bother DeWalt or these channels who promote their stuff. It's all about dollars. I usually stop the vid and unsubscribe from channels like that....especially the green and black tool fanboys.
I almost hurt myself with my crappy old router yesterday. It was entirely my fault so I'm not going to mention the brand. I basically cut s hole in a sheet of wood and screwed my router to it. Then i clamped that to the table saw and WITHOUT a fence tried to clean up a tenon joint. I don't know why my brain realizes what I'm doing is stupid but still thinks i can do it safely if i am careful. The board was 14 inches long and 3.5 in wide. The bit grabbed the board immediately and rocketed it off my hand. Thankfully that was all cause my hands were only about 4 inches from that router bit at the time. I could've easily touched that bit. Luckily i learned a lesson without losing and portion of my body!
I tryed to order one of them dado stacks from Katz Moses awhile back and took 4 months later only after I emailed they said it was sold out. I put my email in to get notified for when they come back in stock and still waiting on a notification lol, turned me right off from his store and channel, sadly.
@731Woodworks ya i seen them. I'm just at a stand still doing my shop, money wise so not really doing nothing in there now. I'm 55grand into it so far 24x24
This was a great video. There has been many great tools released in 2024. I think you would be pleasantly surprised by many Flex tools. Their drill with turbo has the anti kickback as well. In 2024 they released all of their nail guns, including the Brad nailer, 23 gauge Pin nailer, a couple staplers, a few finish nailers and a couple framing nailers.
That tool from kreg looks a lot like a tool from JessEm, I remember seeing the JessEm version first, I sure hope there wasn't theft of IP; as someone who recently retired from an industry where products were developed and "invented", it's very, very bad for innovation when proper respect and protection isn't afforded to those who create.....with no reward, there is no new stuff.
I can’t keep up with the battery stuff at all it’s constantly changing 1 minute something is the latest and greatest and not cheap to buy at all . Then within a year it’s obsolete with the new greatest ever but not cheap thing taking its spot
I’m sorry but I don’t see anything new in the kreg mortise machine. It is a very poor and cheap copy of the Jessem Pocket mill which as been around for years (reintroduced 1-2 years ago). The Wood whisperer did a review a few months ago on the kreg copy and it is worth watching (to avoid buying it)
In the EU, they use a router not dado blades, it is way too dangerous even with the new blade and European table saws are not made the same as the American ones, they cannot be fitted with a dado blade at all.
Like anything else a few reviews here and there from a trusted source comes off as sincere. Someone demonstrates their skills over their videos, then gains the credibility to offer a review. But review after review from tools that just came out comes across as a paid advertisement. You mentioned you paid for the Dewalt router, but made no such mention on many other tools you mentioned. Did you buy four of the t squares with your own money? I’ll keep watching because I can appreciate a good tool pitch, but will stick to project farm for unbiased and thorough testing. It’s sad to see RUclips go the way of corporate sponsors over actual wood working content where you go to learn new skills. I guess everyone wants to make a living with their hobby and it’s easier to sell things than to make things.
dude you know you are going to get heat if you dont disclose these advocate videos. so far at least 2 pieces of equipment have the "anti rotation" from the same company im seeing a pattern. Just saying good luck i hope it all works out but you are supposed to say when you are sponsored.
Getting fed up of these grifter channels selling merch for the big brands. Hardly any woodworking anymore. 2025 is the year I unsubscribe from these glorified sales presentations.
I appreciate the exposure to and demo of tools I might now know about or have had a chance to work with. If you have a problem with RUclipsrs reviewing tools and such, maybe stop watching videos and go build something ?

Is that router the one that can be removed from the frame and used as a hand router ? That thing is great
Do you think the dewalt plunge router is a good first router for a beginner woodworker? I love the safety features this offers that other routers do not
Yes, absolutely. It's a great router.
Bought the CMT dado stack a while back after watching your channel, Thanks for the great advice Matt. I love this dado stack, super easy to use and the set up was quick and easy, Honestly Its priced very reasonable

Does the CMT Locking Dado Blade fit/work on your recommended Kobalt 10" table saw?

yes
i watched a few of your videos and found every time i try to buy a cmt locking dato stack i find it out of stock everywhere, also i tried to buy the vevor precision miter gauge the one you advertised no one has them
It happens sometime when I post videos about popular products.
Check out the 150nm Bosch drill. Might blow your mind with the onboard angle meter. As well as the anti rotation (I think it had it for a few years before DeWalt)

Thanks!
Yeah, I was surprised that they didn’t have something like this sooner.
Metabo HPT has had their cordless/AC hybrid Plunge router out for 2 1/2 yrs
Dewalt late to the game and it can only be used with Batteries
Great video as always Matt. Congrats on 700k to you and Amy can’t wait to see what you guys do in 2025. God Bless you both and Thank you for sharing your journey
Thank you so much!

honestly a shop vac with a vacuum bag is just fine for nearly every situation in a small garage
I would second that, but add that if you include an Oneida Dust Deputy cyclone or something like it on the front side of a shop vac, it will improve your dust collection significantly.

I bought the Milwalkee baby router yiu recommended but is there a small router table that would work well with this router?
Matt has plans to build a little router table and a vid if you dig deep enough showing how to build it ..check it out..
Matt awesome as always. Great video and those t squares look amazing! Just ordered the m12 sander! Thanks for the deal!
Best reviews of 2024 🎉🎉🎉
But, he doesn't have a Briggs & Stratton miter saw like yours. Haha. Happy New Year.
@ haha nope he sure doesn’t 🤣
Thanks!
@@731Woodworks you the man , God bless you brother and praying for abundant blessings for you and the fam
Wish that dado stack came in a 6” version
They work great, I have been using them for a while now.
FYI the harbor freight dust collector is back ordered till march in my area. Also, nice Planet Ocean! I have the older one with the 2500 series co-axial movement. The early Danial Craig one. It is a little thinner so that made me choose that one.
Thanks for the heads up on the dust extractor! Love the Omega Planet Oceans!
@ probably one of my most comfortable watches on the bracelet. Even better than my Seamaster Diver 300.
Bosch does have the tab-less batteries. They may have been one of if not the first
Love the shirt
Any plangs on doing a reveiw of the flex 10.25 inch table saw and the flex demo saw have seen very few reviews and none from ppl I trust. The review I have seen makes me want to take the plunge but I hate to get into a new brand of batteries again. Also can you or any of the viewers here tel me what the job site table saws surface are made from. They don't look like metal but I cant imagine plastic would holdup after constant use.
You can thank NASA for the anti rotation in the Dewalt drill.
Thanks NASA 🚀!
I forgot about the Hercules extractor. I should have ordered it with the 15% New Year's no exclusions coupon.
Looks like the link for JessEm Rulers is wrong. It goes to the dado stack.
Grats on 700k Subs!
Thanks!

What about that company (?metabo) that allows you to plug their cordless tools into the wall? Maybe that wasn’t 2024….regardless that is pretty revolutionary.
The Metabo HPT is a better router and has been out for 2 1/2 yrs earlier than the DeWalt, yes and can go AC as well as battery, genius
Dewalt had that on one of their miter saws, then dropped it for some reason in 2024.
Out of interest due to the motion detector on the Dewalt router. Is it possible to put it upside down on a router table? Or would the motion detector stop it from working? Great review update. 👍
not sure, I don't think the motion sensor would trip because it has to be moved quickly to activate.
@@731Woodworks
Be good to try that out as a video?
For my store, on the app it shows "order in-store"
I've been a professional bench joiner for 7 years now and I've never come close to a router making such violent movement, is that really a necessary feature?
Of course not. But that won't bother DeWalt or these channels who promote their stuff. It's all about dollars. I usually stop the vid and unsubscribe from channels like that....especially the green and black tool fanboys.
The drill light flash light mode is on every dewalt xr drill
👍👍👍👍👍
Nice review of some fantastic tools, and I love the shirt.
Have a great weekend!
That Dewalt router would be nice if it had a corded option
Agreed
3:32 Festool TPC 18/4
Wait for this years 2025 Hurculese Brushless battery-operated jig saw...
Shame that the dado-stack costs over €300 overhere ( Belgium)
Dado pro locked set where how much
FYI Dewalt's Powerpack did not replace their Powerstack. They're two different technologies.
Jessem link?
They are all linked in the pinned comment and video description.
Isn't the powerstack just the smaller pack up to 5 Ah, and the 8 Ah powerpack.?
No. They’re different technologies. DeWALT does a horrible job marketing that fact though.
From the thumbnail on this one I was really concerned that someone found a way to attach a table saw blade to a router....
Awesome list!
I tryed to order one of them dado stacks from Katz Moses awhile back and took 4 months later only after I emailed they said it was sold out. I put my email in to get notified for when they come back in stock and still waiting on a notification lol, turned me right off from his store and channel, sadly.
TayTools has them in stock
JessEm is making them for Kreg
@@731Woodworks thanks for clarifying, I feel better now!
I can’t keep up with the battery stuff at all it’s constantly changing 1 minute something is the latest and greatest and not cheap to buy at all . Then within a year it’s obsolete with the new greatest ever but not cheap thing taking its spot
Take a shot for how many times he’s says “changes woodworking”
🍻
Those Jessum Rulers look like something I’d buy
I’m sorry but I don’t see anything new in the kreg mortise machine. It is a very poor and cheap copy of the Jessem Pocket mill which as been around for years (reintroduced 1-2 years ago). The Wood whisperer did a review a few months ago on the kreg copy and it is worth watching (to avoid buying it)
In the EU, they use a router not dado blades, it is way too dangerous even with the new blade and European table saws are not made the same as the American ones, they cannot be fitted with a dado blade at all.
So ryobi is ok tool if you use festool. WTF.
I guess everyone wants to make a living with their hobby and it’s easier to sell things than to make things.
bro i aint watched this yet. But one of these tools better be cool or im going to blcok your videos for click bait.
They were all cool! 😎
How many of these did you buy on your own? If none, then this is just advertising
Is this just a sales channel? Seriously.
I review woodworking tools. And share tips.
dude you know you are going to get heat if you dont disclose these advocate videos. so far at least 2 pieces of equipment have the "anti rotation" from the same company im seeing a pattern. Just saying good luck i hope it all works out but you are supposed to say when you are sponsored.
This wasn't a sponsored video.
he sponsored by jesus dont you get it
This guy only reviews tools.
So
correct
Getting fed up of these grifter channels selling merch for the big brands. Hardly any woodworking anymore. 2025 is the year I unsubscribe from these glorified sales presentations.
Bye! 👋🏻
Do you make all your wood working tools yourself?
I appreciate the exposure to and demo of tools I might now know about or have had a chance to work with. If you have a problem with RUclipsrs reviewing tools and such, maybe stop watching videos and go build something ?
