Learning to use Mac has had its challenges so far, but the hardware of my Macbook has made it worth the switch. These shortcuts are super helpful. Cmd+x doesn’t cut the file on Mac.
You do cmd+c and cmd+option+v to move the file
Shift+cmd+5 gives record screen / record section of screen

Cmd+x does not cut in MacOS, but there is a way to cut and paste! To cut from one folder, you use the same Cmd+c to copy, but when you are pasting you have to use Cmd+Opt+v. This will paste the copy while removing from the original source (like Ctrl+x on windows)

Exactly! completely agree with this. I use windows, mac and various linuxes over the years. And i learned that it would be the most beneficial for me if i do windows the windows way, mac/apple the mac/apple way and linux the linux way. Plus, having those "additional/extra/3rd parties" background apps will reserve some of the memory as well.

My main issue is dragging files into Premiere or another finder window. On windows you just drag the file down to the Premiere bit in the taskbar, it opens up and you drag it in. On Mac you drag it down to the dock, it sits there for a bit, Premiere flashes up, but then you have to hover over premiere for a bit to select it and sometimes it doesn't select. Am I being dumb here? Helpful video though, I switched to Mac a couple of months ago so still getting used to it!

On newer Macs, except the ones with Touch Bar, Spotlight is just one key... F4. And beside it is Dictation, which is also great.
