Wow, I have been dealing with Honeywell for upwards of 15 years. Usually, I do not program in the 5800 RP. But, when I do, I never knew that I could break things down so much. Also, the paperwork does not mention that you can use a 12-volt power supply, but it is possible.
Hi Dennis, When the 5800RP is programmed into a Vista / Lynx / Lyric series set of panels, you can utilize all features of the 5800RP trouble/supervision features. Also, when UL made changes to some of the regulations is when the 5800RP stopped recommending a 12vdc Power supply source and only allowing a 9vac power source for UL installs. Even though in the instruction manual, in the "specifications" section for input voltage still has a 12vdc option listed not for UL installs.
This programming works and just like the video, I get a constant low battery warning which will not disarm/clear off my panel and allow arming the system without bypassing the Low Battery zone.
Hi Alarm Grid, I'm new to the sales world of security systems for commercial and residential lines. I will be selling primarily Honewell 5800 series devices for the residential sides. What beginner videos do you recommend I watch? Thanks for your help!
If you're looking to get more information about the sensors you'll be selling, you can always type in our company name and the name of the sensor in the search option and that should pull up the related videos. Our website does have a good bit of information about 58000 series sensors as well: www.alarmgrid.com

Thank you for that information.
Awesome and concise video. One a Lynx Plus (L3000) is it possible to program the 4 zone option?
it is yes for the L3000 to monitor the 5800rp
Thanks a lot...
