Greetings Mrs.Manjula. I started following your videos out of curiosity(what makes Indian food tick) and for alternative vegan recipes for the days(appox.270out of the year) when Orthodox Christians are fasting. I have seen many many similarities between our cuisines(Greek for me) but today....the name"lobia" is equal to the ancient Greek word for beans=lopia! My late father still used it(village dialect) when referring to beans. Lopia means "covered in skin" ie. the pods. Thanx.
Dear Madam, I tried this recipe last week, it was delicious. Thank you for giving such an easy recipe for a nutritious dish. God bless. And there were no onions, really good :)))
Aunty Manjula, just wanted to say this recipe was easy and delicious! Black eye peas are my favorite food, and your recipe was scrumptious. :) I have been eating nothing but your recipes for a month now, and I have lost 5 lbs! I am now at my favorite weight, thanks to you and your healthy recipes.
Manjula! I love you and your cooking. My family loves your recipes and they think I am a genius, but I sit at the feet of a Master. I see you got a new stove! Must have worn the other one out. Good for you. Best wishes and my family and I look forward to many new dishes that are both flavorful and nutritious!
I always check out your recipes when I want to skip onion & garlic..especially during my fast! I love all your recipes & have tried almost all of them. Thanks for the wonderful & easy lobia curry recipe! 🙏 I also want to tell you that I love your new specs frame 👍
I just made this curry and I improvised a little by doing a tardka in the beginning and adding in the spices and boiled lobia and it came out delicious. Thank you Manjula auntie :)

Thank you, this looks delicious! Can't wait to try it! I have a question for you. I am not familiar with many of the spices and other ingredients used in Indian cooking. Could you please tell me what is the purpose of mango powder? Does it act as a thickener or is it for flavor? If it's for flavor, what kind of flavor does it add, a sweetness? Thank you Manjula! :)
I grew black eyed peas this year had a great harvest in middle Missouri, tryed this recipe it was very good had a hard time finding all the ingredients but well worth the effort, thanks for the recipe
Thank you for the great video's, Could you please tell me how long you would recommend cooking the beans in a regular pan instead of a pressure pan. Can't wait to try this recipe!
Looks great! I'm trying to eat more beans for protein. I just wish I knew what half of these spices actually are. I don't even think i've seen them in markets. But your technique is what's most helpful.

what is the name of the pressure cooker you are using? Is it from India? Also which which gas stove you are using? Are you cooking in LPG or electricity?
