      @@SurvivingArchitecture By resources I meant websites or documents your courses give you and conventions I meant how do you decide what line weight, topography lines to include, etc. It might seem pretty basic to make a clean starting site plan but my professors never went over it!

    Binge watching your videos has to be the best cure for the Monday blues 😅. Once again a very concise helpful video. Your technique for building shadows is way better than the way I used drop shadows, thanks for the tip! BTW, here's an idea ; what about a video about typography for our presentations?

      Thats so nice to say of you hehehe, drop shadow does the job but this is more accurate and professional, hmm that's interesting i will do some research on it to see what i can do for it.

      Thank you so much! Apologies for speeding that up because its really just the same way as the contours, texture of the road ...etc. Basically, I scaled my panels layers and then merged them to one. Selected the roof from the cad drawing with the magic wand tool and then clicked on the panels and applied clipping mask.     Thats a cleaver idea for creating shadows, so its always 45 degrees, what about different countries ?

    Also, a neat thing to do if you have a lot of building sorrounding the site, is you can do it a lot quicker if you have a different line color in cad. so when you open PS, you can select color range(the color of the line), copy to a new canvas, invert it, select the outside bounds using magic wand, and just use paint brush.

      @@SurvivingArchitecture Yeah! update: don't use paint brush, use fill(shift+f5 and foreground color) instead for a better quality :)

      You just need to drag the plan unto the document and I also explained the selection and roof in the video :)

      I mainly use the photoshop default brushes but you can also download 'show it better' brushes for free on their website. :)

    Can this be done on illustrator??
    I usually do it on sketchup, with all the textures and shadows, the i export to scale using sketchup layout. Then i save it as a hybrid high quality pdf, then import it to illustrator to add trees.

    I have question if you don’t mind
    At the very beginning when you open the photoshop
    I have my drawings on pdf but when I go to photoshop the lines are faded not like the one on pdf
    So what do you think I am doing wrong?

      Well I exported the AutoCAD drawings direct to pdf and then photoshop
      It’s faded from pdf to photoshop!
      It’s pixeled when I convert pdf to jpeg and then in photoshop

      A site plan is the roof plan of the building and showing the approach, entrance, landscaping and context :)

      Site analysis is looking at the current conditions of the site that will help you design to that specific site. You analyze things like climate, wind, sun paths, smell, noise and much more. Have a look at these videos:

      @@SurvivingArchitecture when inimport an AutoCAD pdf in photoshop, it looses it's quality and is very unclear.any specific reason for that. I need help . Got my submission tomorrow. Don't know what to do
