Well, they've been getting away with this shit for decades so there's certainly "something" going on. Either our so-called "leaders" are immensely stupid or, sadly more likely, they're personally benefitting more from Israel's continued scum bag behaviour than they would be from growing a spine and putting a stop to it. Enough of the general population has been either ignorant, complicit or apathetic for most of Israel's modern existence that it's been able to execute its barbaric intentions without us holding our own certainly well informed "leaders" to account over allowing it. Unfortunately for them most of us no longer get our news from a tiny number of "official" sources that are all owned by the same couple of billionaire leaches. They've suddenly realized this, hence the US's recent ban on one of those new, uncensored (or at least _less_ censored) sources. I don't like TikTok but it's really hard to convince the general population that you're the good guys when your storm troopers keep uploading public videos of themselves committing war crimes.

Not gonna lie, this was always predictable. After the death of Rabin I figured this path wouldn't change until after around five million murdered palestinians drew enough outrage. I really got my hopes up with all this outcry so _comparatively_ early in that process but now with the rush into Rafa and at least half the electorate of Israel actually thinking like this psycho twit I just don't see things changing without getting a whole lot worse first. Maybe not five million bad but certainly half a million, sadly.

The problem is its not their own, the government of that country is mostly EXCLUSIVELY European stock.

I'm not proud of our history but pretty much every place on earth used to be rather extreme when it came to ethnocentric values and any group who didn't fall in line got mistreated... that's just how the world have been and in some regard still function. Some nations have somewhat managed to avoid the end points aka. removal of their minorities, but looking at history most nations today have at some point aimed at becoming homogeneous, which meant some form of population control involving conversions, removals, cleansing etc.
Modern nation states however mostly focus on the shared values aspect aka. you are free to do whatever you like as long as you follow the spoken and unspoken rules of the society you live in. Which at the end of the day is more reasonable then previous systems of near perfect conformity. Believing that Germany was the only country in Europe dabbling in extreme forms of population control is far from reality, the Nazi's did however take these things to it's final conclusion. People don't like to speak of their own nations dark history ex. here in Sweden you don't hear much about for example forced sterilizations, which was a government sanctioned program... you usually have to wait until higher education to even touch on that subject. But when you start to look at history you can see these ideas come up from time to time, either it's plain and simple persecution of the "other" or just rules/attitudes which creates a form of 2nd class citizen/unwanted group.
Ideas such as equality etc. isn't new, but the application of it on a near global level is a modern concept.
