My wife is a research biologist. She spends months in a swamp collecting data on animals and climate change visibly in effect. She came home and shared just the smallest info about what she was doing on facebook just to have people like this say she is lying and wasting her time (it didn’t even have any controversial climate change language in the post and still)... These same people will never be on the frontline up to their waist in water day after day and sleeping in a sleeping bags every night. The entire world has become arm chair scientists who think they know better while simultaneously mocking and discrediting the actual scientists doing the work.
Your wife is one of the few people that might offer hope....those fearful morons who attack her are part of the problem, so confident in their wilful ignorance because they're bullies who think they'll win it all at the end of the world. That's what makes me scared, but still I hope.
@@craftinghome yes it’s pretty scary that the wide spread discourse is that you shouldn’t trust credited experts in a field of work and instead just listen to podcaster and comedians
Not to mention, even ignoring the observations of scientists... I live in the dead center of NYS.
The first 11 years I lived here, Winters were always severe. Tons of snow, and the snow did NOT melt between storms. This means in curbs, lawns, anywhere that wasn't shoveled or plowed, the snow, ever Winter, stacked up to one foot, two feet, three feet, four feet.
Then, one year it suddenly changed, and never changed back. All of a sudden, our climate started being like how the climate of NYC had always been, where it snows, it melts, it snows again, it melts, etc.
Winters became tremendously tame compared to how they had ALWAYS been. They changed, and never changed back. And other changes happened too, like hailstorms with high winds that blow through on cold fronts, during Spring and Fall, which hadn't been a thing in the past.
I am 44 and I know for me, seeing climate change with my eyes has just been an obvious pattern
Please thank your wife from me & the rest of us, for her important work.
This is the truest comment ever commented
How Jordan Peterson tends to argue:
Categorical Statement --Therefore--> Categorical Statement --Therefore--> Categorical Statement --Therefore--> Insane Conclusion
and obviously never give ideas on how to resolve the problems he shows. Just leaving the gaps for crazier people to maybe fill
...like the junior high debate team😅
When he brings up facts that go against his narrative he often accepts them as fact, but then quickly slides in various “As if that matters”/“A lot of good that did”/“Not that anyone cares” type statements in some weird (and lazy) attempt to debunk them.

As a Brit, I fucking love it when JP uses the word "bloody". It sounds so worng and overly intended, where here in England it is the most casual word that doesn't in any way carry the weight Jordan seems to think it does 😅
In Canada "bloody" was still almost a curse word when I was a kid. We knew Brits said "Bloody well right" all the time thanks to Supertramp, so it wasn't rude to sing along or use it in impressions, but if you said something like "you're bloody wrong about that, Jordan" it would have been, well, bloody rude.
By the 90s people stopped saying it altogether, especially after The Simpsons made it acceptable to say "hell" & "ass" in front of your parents (thanks America, lol). Now "bloody" just sounds like the rantings of an out of touch blowhard/grifter, & reminds me of other boomer exasperations from my childhood like "For Pete's sake!" or "Heavens to Mergatroid!" which no one says anymore (not even boomers).
@@unseen_stranger this topic is so interesting to me. my canadian mom says bloody and for pete's sake, she just kind of uses them as emphasis instead of swearing. but jordan comes across as trying to sound more intimidating or bring to mind an image violence that doesn't exist 😂 but he just ends up sounding like a polite lady lol

People lie for any number of reasons. For money, fame, to avoid responsibility, to spare people’s feelings, heck some people lie compulsively. They legitimately cannot stop themselves.

@@pjderouen I wonder sometimes what it is that led some atheists who were inspired by the 2005 to 2010-ish period of atheist fervor to move towards a xenophobic Trump position while others stuck closer to a multicultural Bernie position.
It seems to me that during the period between the death of Christopher Hitchens and the rise of Trump that a lot of new atheists moved hard to the right for some reason. I guess many of the "young angry white guys" who found a purpose in a embracing atheism were deep down simply attracted to a notion of white western cultural superiority that can be associated with the enlightenment. And unfortunately that sort of thinking has a bigoted underbelly which has been brought to the forefront by Trump and the alt right.

Only serious scientists compare everything to Carl Jung and Dostoevsky 🤡
This guy just said 99% of the people working in science are not serious. How can anyone take him seriously? The amount of air you would need to have between your ears could fit a human sized brain in there. Main character syndrome makes him think that just like him there are only a few others out there who know the REAL truth and do the REAL science. Most people like him don't understand that science isn't covered in Eureka moments on the daily. It is built on the painstaking work of peers in and outside your field and is a process. To diminish the work of 99% of people in any given industry is insane let alone science being the one that requires heavy dependence on your peers.

Pretty sure the argument came across loud and clear. The pareto distribution dictates the square root of the total individuals in any creative endeavor and will produce half the output. I've modeled this in my computer science classes years ago. If you have 100 people with a quarter and 10 dollars, and they each play eachother in a quarter toss, if an individual wins they get a dollar, and if they lose they give up a dollar. If you run this iteration so they all play each other 50 times, 10 people will end up with all the money. You can argue with this point all you want, but idk why you'd take this political pundit's word or your own over a clinician's while arguing we should take a climate scientists word over jordan petersons. Even the examples brought up that supposedly prove peterson wrong, are still pointing to the fact the majority of output is produced by the minority. If you lookup how many family farms make most of the money, its 101,265 family farms, while the remaining 2 million make less than half the money. "Well here's an example where it's not exactly 80-20", right but a minority still produce the majority of the output. Which would still suggest a minority of scientists produce the majority of valuable output. You're just arguing to argue. "The pareto principle is a libertarian talking point" says the political pundit with no scientific endeavors under their belt. This video is comical.

GO BACK TO SLEEP!
🤦♂️
I was being sarcastic 😭😭 but someone said that conservatives just call anything they don't like or agree as being "woke".. And apparently anytime something goes wrong it's DEI to blame.. 😒
Imagine being GULLIBLE enough to let Jordan Peterson fool you into believing you can get locked up in Canada for calling a dude a b tch!😂
“They kicked me out for having too cool a jacket” killed me
Whoever has been writing the video titles for the last few months is on fire.
Bro 😂
Clicked so fast I cracked my screen, now I have to clean up my room.
😂😂
😂😂😂
Michael Brooks is having a FIELD DAY with this right now. 😂😂😂
"F**ck you buddy!". That should be a T-Shirt with Jordan Peterson's face on it.
"chinese prostate milking" Peterson can ALWAYS tell who is serious and who isn't
Now THOSE folks were serious scientists.. 🤣
Sam doing Jordan’s voice sounds more like Mickey Mouse and it’s absolutely hilarious! I’m dying over here! 😂😂😂
"wages for lower income people have gone up more than in the last several decades"... seriously? I don't think so. Even if it were true, they haven't gone up nearly as much as has the price of housing, of used cars, of food.
Mr Peterson AKA "give em hell Netanyahu" is totally losing it 🤪
"Is it me who is out of touch?
No, it's the other 99 scientists."
I know that since Peterson has absolutely, undoubtedly, unquestionably talked with many reputable scientists who agree that the climate emergency is bullshit, he’ll have absolutely no issue telling us who these reputable men and women of science are. I just know it.
Well if you observed the COVID situation, you'd see what happened to doctors who went against the establishment narrative without anonymity. I think it's a pretty nuanced subject.
I think climate change is real, I'm personally not convinced that it's being affected by human activity and I'd say the research that I've read that alleges it's caused by human activity is pretty weak. MAYBE it is affected by human activity, but when that's being utilised by the richest people on the planet to make themselves richer and essentially turn people like Bill Gates into Demi-Gods who can personally control the life outcomes for billions of people, it makes people extremely sceptical of the whole thing.
Bill Gates for example had HUGE global influence over the Pandemic situation (the man is not a doctor and has no medical experience) and now he's taking up huge influence in global farming and energy, in line with this climate agenda that he funds the research for. So surely you can appreciate why people are reluctant to buy into it.
🤣😂🤣😂 the Peterson imitation changing slowly from Kermit to Mickey Mouse is killing meeee🤣
11:56 Jordan sound like he's impersonating Sam impersonating him. And then Sam sounds like Mickey Mouse.
Jordan Peterson can’t loose something he never had. He has always been a nutty grifter.
That's really not true he's a phenomenally well informed clinical psychologist. His understanding of the human mind is pretty high level. I feel like people have to reach for the top shelf with everything now. People are either Angels or Nazis and there's no in-between. I think Peterson is probably suffering the same effects most people experience when they become globally famous very quickly l
Jordle Peeperson believes that vocabulary = intellect and often uses words so obscure even he's not sure if they have anything to do with the conversation or not.
What do you mean with intellect? And how do you define often? What is often and why?
@@SYLRMHAWhy can't I tell if this sarcasm?
@@anne-zh2kd -sad Kermit noises-
His terms aren’t even that obscure. Most people with a BA in a humanities field have heard them. That isn’t a majority of the population but it’s still a lot of people.
I've never had to look his words up but none the less he's just smart enough to be annoying much like the students who upset him so much 😂 not blue hair and pronouns but weird suits taking on the "establishment"with a 1950s failed used car salesman vibe. Elon annoys me much more where I'm trying to figure out if I'm supposed to be learning something real or not
“Well alright, ok, but….He had multiple cats, so…” 😂🤣😂🤣Dyin!
Peterson is a prove that the Education system is failing.
When did Peterson become a climate scientist? What a 🤡
He became one when he didn't do any climate science, because according to him, paradoxically, when you do science, you stop being a legitimate scientist.
Thank you ! he should stick to philosophy, but I’m not sure most scholars disagree with him on his take on Nietzsche.
@@darylhill9400 sopolsky is the go to guy not this grifter, Sopolsky will quote peer reviewed studies and explain so anyone can understand his reasoning. I cant remember who it was but someone once said if you cant eplainit to a child you dont know your subject. Anyone that uses word salad is just a fake
@@vincentvangogh8092 To be honest that is a bit of an exaggeration. It's not just common but absolutely expected for an expert to have difficulties explaining their expertise to a layman. Those who need to be able to explain it to children are teachers. That requires people skills. Researchers and scientists in general don't need that, they need to be able to understand the thing themselves and publish papers that others in the field can understand, peer review and explain it to others down the line. Experts need to be good at what they do, not necessarily at teaching others.
Here's the thing though: jargon is not a stylistic choice. Experts use it in order to more reliably communicate amongst themselves. Peterson tries to emulate it merely to appear more intelligent than he is. He has been exposed to actually intelligent people and as a, I assume and give him too much credit considering what I know of him today, formerly intelligent person himself he makes use of an expanded vocabulary to obfuscate the points he's making in hopes that his interlocutors give up on trying to keep up with his mish-mash of ideas and just nod their heads at what he's saying.
My point: Jordan Peterson cosplays as an intellectual. Whether he truly is one or was one at some point in the past is irrelevant. He costumes himself and his language so that superficially he appears to others who have no idea what he's talking about like an actually knowledgeable person. For others maybe it feels right to have someone vomit so much verbal diarrhea on them that they legit get dizzy and agree with whatever it is he's saying, but for me personally hearing a sentence that could be reduced to maybe 5 words turned into 5 paragraphs of thesaurus thumbing exercise into time wasting is tiring, and I'm not exactly the best at exercising the spirit of "brevity is the soul of wit" myself if it's not apparent already.
Tl;dr: Jordan Peterson likes to disguise himself as a smart guy by using a thick vocabulary book and picking the synonym of every word he utters so as to seem more astute when he just sounds like an ass, trying his best at farting Beethoven's 5th to appear grandiose and important but failing miserably to any but the most enthusiastic of fart-enjoyers.
Listening to Jordan Peterson is sincerely nauseating and infuriating at the same time.
I think he's gotten Economist Syndrome in which you go into another field you're barely involved in, give your two cents, don't listen to the actual experts, then leave.
"most careerists produce nonsense" says the king of producing nonsense lmao.. how can anyone be so completely clueless
Oh don't discourage him-- or he'll be crying again.
His pseudoscience based on Jungism is not replicable. He should stfu in a domain he would be completely destroy.
because generally speaking, people are very stupid and greedily gobble up the trash he spews. this makes him lots of money, which gives him an ever-expanding platform from which he can spew more trash. the cycle continues...
Its easy to be clueless when your paid to be.
@@amberspaulding you don't need to cry when you can do benzos like kermit the psychologist
"I can tell the difference between a serious scientist and one who isn't serious," says the defunct psychologist who owns a Twitter suit with Elon Musk's goofy face on a pattern tie.
That all-meat diet is taking its goddamn toll in so many ways.
What about the benzos?
For real, that is the dumbest way to eat.
Jordan has big "My Uncle works at nintendo" energy with his "there are totally lots of good scientists that agree with me you just cant see them."
"You wouldn't know them they go to a different school in Canada"
I think a worm ate his brain too. 🧠🪱
It wasn't the brain worms, although he does have those, it was that one time he drank non-alcoholic apple cider. BEWARE. You could also fall pray to it's temptations and destruction.
but he went to ruZZia to get a 'good brain' again.
The poor little guy starved to death
Ohhh, so that's why he is full of 💩.
Careful. The last time I said something like that, a worm sued me for defamation.
So his self-assigned authority is based on his own self-assigned authority? That is serious.
right, why TF is anyone taking a (debunnked) psychologist's word on climate science?
I cringe every time somebody in my family says “well, you know, Jordan Peterson says”…
20% cotton, 80% children's book illustrations.
He is the soldier from Drummer Hoff.
lol Jordan Peterson denying climate change while half of Canada is currently burning 🤦🏻♀️
Ha humph. Well have you considered that umm well cave men had fire but no industrialization ..umm yes I have thought of that have you ? Fire existed yet only 20% of people like me knew that .
In his defense, that might just be Trudeaus' idiocy. 😩
@@Hollyucinogen Canada is not burning because a Trudeau’s behaviour. It’s burning because of climate change. Remember when “April showers brought may flowers?” There were no April showers and there were no May Showers.
And if you want to place blame, it can’t just be on Trudeau. It has to be on the entirety of the government over all of the provinces. In Alberta, both conservatives and NDP have cut firefighting budgets over the years. Every single government party is to blame.
@@Demo5 huh? 🤔 😂
@@AREA-jp8vb We get wildfires regularly in the prairies of Canada. I highly doubt that it's climate change.
I have studied political economy for 20 years, and Petersons comments on economics border on psychotic
The "crazy parking spot stolen guy" is exactly Jordan's energy LMAO
Jordan Peterson was an unremarkable academic. His claim to fame is that he recites slogans with a professor's cadence.
Really bothers me that I could easily do what he does and be living a life of Reilly but I don't because I have a moral compass.
Another reminder, he openly admitted to being bad enough at math that he "disregards" it. The man can't understand science because he can't understand MEASUREMENTS.
Former professor here; can confirm.
Pretty much, he sounds plausibly authoritative, and that's more than sufficient in the public sphere where almost no one knows how to evaluate the things they hear.

"Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Jordan Peterson" was absolutely what I needed today.
I have watched that Some More News episode twice. Peterson's idiocy and arrogance is unmatched.
