First time seeing JYP sitting so quietly without giving any comment. On the other hand, Chan sounds like a good producer who got the talent to pick up good members. Jyp needs to learn this from Chan imo.
I think JYP did a great job in choosing Bang Chan to join the company, not putting him in Got7 and trusting him to choose the members for skz. He really does have a hands-off approach to them and trusts 3racha in writing and producing their songs which I think has led to their success, which shows how smart JYP is.
Han and Bangchan meeting each other was the first step towards Straykids ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I am Happy that my bias is Han jisung. He is really talented and gave certainty in a uncertain time for Bangchan. He tried alot of things with Han and completed 3racha when Changbin came. these 3 will always have a special place for me in the group. They are def. the core.
I agree, each member builds up Stray Kids and their whole concept and songs would be different without each member, but 3Racha are the backbone of Stray Kids for sure
I am fairly new to being a Stay and had no idea that Channie had such a pivotal role in choosing which trainees would become the members to debut together as Stray Kids(I thought that they all competed in a competitive idol selection TV show to debut the last trainees standing), so thank you for this informative YT upload.
So the reality show they performed in was who was allowed to stay in the group. It was a new concept of an experienced trainer selecting the members of the group, producing, and writing the music as well. It was a great show, if you have time you should check it out. Predubut Stray Kids is a treat.
Stray Kids and Tomorrow + Together are two unusual groups. TXT was 4 and they were told no leader, no lead dancer, no lead vocals, etc. Everyone of them must dance, sing, rap and act. At the last minute, HYBE threw in Beomgyu after only 2 years of learning to be a sort of comedian of the group. At some point, they started calling Soobin the leader as he is the tallest, but they are an independent group. And still the only one. With Stray Kids, Chan had been around the longest and won all the top trainee awards but was never picked. JYP came up to him and told him to pick a group. They were the only group to not be put together by a company. They weren't told this and were put through this new idea of JYP to have an on air talent show. JYP and Chan really put them the wringer. You notice that Chan told Felix that he would save him and not to worry. How could he do that without knowing all along that the 9 would go through. 8 after a year together. Knowing that they are going through but they don't know it, it makes the show harder to watch...a bit heartbreaking but uplifting as well. In the fields of pop and rock, these two have gone to a shared #1 by being different, from the beginning, that any other K-pop groups. They both deserve every award the win. Watching them all this time and seeing them grow and mature and have mental health problems because of the work, has made this a wonderful journey for me to watch coming for the original pop/rock era. I am STAY and MOA and proud of both of them.

Hahah it is really a very fitting name. Chan looked for the talents who keeps being ignored for 1 reason or another like him… they had a green light to debut but JYP wasnt especially focusing on them. Whether they succeed or not it was OK since TWICE was sensational at that point. Good for Skz to step up and become one of the best groups. Ofc Bts absence has something to do with this but they are really producing excellent albums and has mastered the “noisy genre” as i call it.. Felix voice and Hyunjin’s center visual and stage presence are heaven sent
New stay here... I don't understand about the survival show then...was the team already selected through open auditions? 🤔 Specially curious about Lee know since he wasn't a trainee with them prior to this I believe..
Basically Chan was tasked by the company to hand pick members to debut with him, which was a first at jype since the company was usually the one to pick members to debut. So the survival show was essentially a test to show if all the members chan had picked are all ready to debut :)))
To add, Lee Know was last to join the group, he was only a trainee at jype for 2 weeks before Chan picked him, Chan was so amazed by Lee Know's dancing & his professional background in dance that he made him the group's dance leader
