This is my first drift car and what better way to start with this epic Fijon FJ9 kit. This kit is over 95% carbon and alloy parts with hardly any plastic. I wouldn't recommend this as a first time kit as it looks pretty complex.

I don't know if you already found the answer to why the two jx servos won't work in this application but if not I will try to explain. A servo receives pulses from the receiver via the signal wire. A normal servo needs pulses with a width of around 1000 to 2000 µs which correspond full left and full richt, while a pulse width of 1520 µs usually corresponds to the servo being centered. The jx servos are very fast and thus need more pulse in the same amount of time. In order to send more pulses in a given time, the pulses have to be shorter. These jx servos need pulses with a width of 500 to 1000 µs, while a pulse of 760 µs correstponds to it being in the center position. Due to the pulses being half the length, twice as many pulses can be received in a given time. On the jx servos you can see the "760 µs" indicated which tells us that this is a short pulse width servo. When you plug this servo in a normal receiver, the servo will receive pulses higher than 1000 µs and will thus move to one side. Sometimes these pulses will ask the servo to move to a position that is mechanically not possible, which can damage your servo. Servos like these are often used to control the pitch on the tail rotor blades of rc helicopters due to the high speed requirements. In model helicopters the servos are often plugged in to a flybarless system or gyro which often has the possibility to send out these shorter pulses to the tailservo. I don't know much about rc cars and if it is possible to get receivers (or gyro's) that can send these shorter pulsewidths. Anyways I hope this helps. If you want you can probably find more information about this on rc helicopter forums.
+Thomas Louwagie wow, awesome Thomas, exactly what I was after. Much appreciate your thorough explanation, now I understand why 😀
so a transmitter/receiver for flying planes/copters will talk to these servos
No that is nog the case. The flybarless system that we put between te receiver and servos usually has the ability tot run these kind of servos. I have not yet seen a receiver that can do that.
Amen
Sometimes servos come descentered, there's a special tool that can help you fix it, normally you center the servo before hand so that it has the same number of degrees to both sides.
Hope its no to late, love your project
Regards
Huge fan of the show! I really like the models you review and even when you upgrade, its stuff that the average person can afford. Keep it up Sir!
+Michael Leone much appreciated Michael :)
Happened to my steering servo to ESC too. The diff is mine will twitches to one side then springs right back into place. Mess w the servo /steering clearance so the steering springs back in place. Only my high end ESC w fatuba servos do it. Not an issue ,just a twitch!
It's looking great Steve! Those components looks like they'll do the trick. Can't wait to see the big 150A ESC in the Maximus
+CCxRC thanks Tony, yep 150amp hopefully will be pretty awesome in the Maximus :)
From experience. When you use a high speed servo with the Flysky transmitters. You may get a bit frustrated by the latency of the radio. And it can cause the servo to twitch because it is receiving the input so late. I am super impressed by the quality of this kit and it looks so dam good too! Thanks for sharing mate!
+Bigdaddyd82 Vapes thanks for the info man. I am going to try and pump 7.4v into it and see if it wants to cooperate :)
Did the 7.4v work for you?
It may help to Drill a small hole in the piece of carbon fiber behind the motor to be able to get your sensor wire on.
Your servo requires a digital signal to operate, normal servos us a analog signal, that's what the flysky receiver sends out. You need a digital receiver like the Taranis X9D plus X4R receiver
Check to make sure the center of the servo is 1500 or something close to that. Also, hv servos need hv. I would also try to use it at 7.4 volts. Higher is better. You may need a small battery and 7.4bec to run the servo individually. Hope this helps!
I love that belt pulley setup
+Jalen Jones looks awesome ay
Great! I want to build too but little worried parts support. I don't see any parts dealer yet. Also Fijon website only deals with a full kit.
+ParadisePopcorn Kang the d9 Bulldog is the same so parts from that will work too
whoa , nice rc for scale build
Thanks
Hi, for this chassis there is a brand of body shell that fits correctly? If you have someone can answer? It's hard to find other shells besides ae86!
Ronaldo Barreto I have this kit, the Tamiya Scirocco body fits it perfect. I just build mine and have the scirocco body in my MST KMW LIMITED, I took the body off and slid onto this FIJON 9 and it fits it PERFECT. Hope this helps.
What with the engine type motor mount its cool is it for looks or functional
It's funny you mentioned that twitch with the servo. I bought a savox waterproof tall servo and installed next thing I know it twitches so I turn the system off then on and it works fine. That's with the cap pack installed on a max8 combo from hobbywing
Steve would you happen to know where I can source parts out for this kit? I have looked EVERYWHERE for part A25, and turnbuckle #45, mine cane damaged from factory and I can’t find that particular part ANYWHERE. I can find other parts from the A bag, sadly NOT A25. I finished the build completely but can’t run the car until I get that piece. I have contacted Bangood but they have yet to email me back. Thanks in advance.
Sup bro, I thought I saw them on Banggood. If not parts for the D9 Bulldog will fit, same car.
Yes I know Bulldog same car, but that particular part A25 can’t be found. I did check bangood but nothing, they do sell other parts from the A bag, but can’t find A25. Thanks again.
@@RCTanksTrucks247 Just found them on the BULLDOG 9 and placed my order.....SOOOOOO HAPPY right now. Thanks again.
Do they sell parts
What a handful to assemble but good tho,i have the hopped up sakura d4 which wasnt to bad to assemble, but once completed omg what a beast this drifter is,i want one
+AOTEAROA looks awesome ay,love it
Does the kit come with a pulley for the motor
Yeah sure does
Any ideas convert it to RWD?
that things crazy! never seen anything like it !
+shenlonco cool ay
Try to take off servo horn n then turn the car on should center the servo. Maybe might work
Try moving the servos arm it might be but in the wrong way
Nice homie happy days 👊
+Kizzel Garrett thanks bro
That servo seems to be shot. Or switch it around and plug it in another way.
From all cooling fan's in the world you found the loudest one :-D
+Black turbine lmao, I. Know ay
Nice build Steve, really liking your content brother big like #6 👍
+PerthWestOZ RC much appreciated mate
PerthWestOZ RC jvejir
PerthWestOZ RC jvejir
Joao Vitor Evangelista Rocha what's that supposed to mean?
It's a heavy car dude, put the 150 esc in!
Christ there's 3 belts on that thing!!!
what brand is the rim?
Where are you find bodies for it
I had a servo that would do that...it stopped doin it when I pushed 6v to it
+craig mcclellan yeah I thought it is already in 6v, I have go try 7.4v
The servo looks to be rated for 7.4v 2s. You plugged in 11.1v 3s.
+Jeffery Brewer the has a bec to limit the voltage, that doesn't matter.
Wow sooo cool 😎
+Rc Trends thanks :)
I wanna see a drift body on that bad boy soo bad!!🤘🏼😁
+Tristan hopefully getting one this weekend
this is very nice!!!
+ColaBier85 thanks
Did you center your servo?
+Loyd Courson yep, I had to get another brand. This one is really for helicopters
Nice one mate
+muhammed farzeen cheers mate
Or maybe the servo needs more power. That would make since due to its a nice servo
Prob need to set endpoints ,and center it.
looks sweet
+Jumpstart rc thanks
Is that real carbon fiber?
+Dagmary Vega yep
Cool build👍👍 but you can get tht same esc off EBay for 49$ us
+Mark Vonville thanks man
where can i buy this model
+Add me on Insta at Psjw007 check out the link in the description
Nice to see it all up and running! Come check out Auburn officeworks underground car park every Tuesday night for some RC drifting if you are free mate.
+daleej84 thanks man. Definitely have to check it out one day. Thanks for letting me know.
How many guys go?
+RC Tanks & Trucks 24/7 there's 4/5 dedicated guys that go every week. And then we get others that rock up as well. Normally about 8 on average. We start about 745pm
+daleej84 ok sweet, thanks man.
You need a ESC programmer card to up the voltage it doesn’t have enough voltage
NICE BUT U UPLOAD VIDEO SO LATE ANYWAY...
MAY BE I'LL SEE THIS RC CAR
COMPLETE IN NEXT PART.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
+KATIL GAMER thanks man
Upgrade to a quality radio....that radio is junk it’s not fast enough for that servo
That servo deal is weird
❤🔥👍
👍👍👍
Cool
+Jalen Jones thanks
That’s a very odd looking car. A lot to it. They made sure they touch up the small parts and gave you something to do.
All those belts.. I don't understand why it's designed like that. Is it just for the look or what? Yeah I'm trolling a bit. Still that car is silly
outabody FPV I think its some kind of safety in case something blocks the transmission the belt slips and so the motor doesnt stop instantly, much like white 24t gears in legos
BL-10 et HE ! -Tumbler73- what about the aluminum intake tubes or whatever they are. I just see a lot of weird stuff I don't understand.
Also that flysky.... why not just get an airtronics mx5 at $100. I know I'm picking this apart but I'm not much into cars anymore so maybe I'm just out of the loop.
It's mostly for looks
I cant figure out why it has 14 belts and 17 driveshafts either. I havnt had bad luck with flysky, have had silly problems with "cheap" but fancy digital titanium gear servos though, doing all sorts of poltergeist stuff.

Love your channel can I plz have a shout out?
+rceverything 247 cheers man, appreciate your comment
Why the hell is there some much extra shit? Too many belts, and driveshafts, and that steering setup is entirely overly complicated.
+xXxchipperchopperxXx not sure, apparently it's a great drifting chassis with plenty of tuning options. Also, the other stuff is to try and make it look realistic
Can I have a shout out toooo
No body
What kind of electronics do I need for these cars: ruclips.net/video/MQucq-g-Vpc/видео.html
Servo didnt work cause it may not be able to handle 11.1v
He's not worthy of the green board, maybe if brings a little troubleshooting skills.LOL
+Daniel Parks haha
Please gift
too much talk
+klxer jake30 that's why it's a build series
