I went onto scryfall to look up her art and seeing Silver Erne unlocked a core memory of when I first started playing and I bought a box of old cards from a friend at school back in 2003. The old cards were just so "magic" to me. Part of the reason why sorcery drew me to it was the hand drawn art. ❤

I love her take on King Arthur, I feel like it is essential that she chose to portray him in his prime. He radiates power and authority! The part she mentioned about what to leave in, take out or include, due to the scale of the card, I think that is precisely her style. Her cards are strong, often vibrant and with zero clutter, only the important stuff remains in the art.

I am so profoundly glad King Arthur will be represented through Melissa's art. She has done some of the most iconic images since I was young and is the prefect person to represent Arthur in this game. Plus, she knows that King Arthur is Welsh, a fact which is sadly not widely known. For the historical note: Arthur II, King of Glamorgan and Gwent, is the Round Table King for which the legend was largely based upon.
