onalandline - 5 guys never played the set that the 2012 Beach Boys played. Surfin’ USA, Surfer Girl, and Fun Fun Fun, in like 1964? Sure. But post-1967, the Beach Boys always had extra musicians onstage. Get over it.
@@chriscianciolo5823 He's right. It's the Beach Boys Tribute Band....featuring a few of the 70+ year old originals. The originals couldn't even sing Fun Fun Fun without the Tribute Band making it acceptable.
topgeardel - Bad song to pick as an example, considering Bruce still sings the falsetto on Fun Fun Fun, Mike still handles the lead, and I’m sure David/Al/Scott (Carl replacement) could take care of the basic backing harmonies if they were on their own. Pick a different song and I might agree 🤷🏻♂️
@@chriscianciolo5823 Lol. Obviously, the word "sing" is a relative term. No way the BBs would sound like themselves on any real level if it was left up to the members. Those 8 other guys are the ones that make it happen....
@@topgeardel Yeah they could have I think. They might not have wanted to, but Bruce would've taken the high part pretty handily, David, Brian and Al would've taken the middle parts, and Mike would've done the lead. Bruce/Brian on bass/keys, Al + David on guitar, and they would need a drummer to be fair. Your honest about this how much of this tour was handled by the backing musicians is appreciated though, and I overall totally agree with you.
@@chriscianciolo5823 Lol... yea, it still is. Because much of the sound produced both instrumentally and vocally IS the Tribute band. I'm not saying they aren't good...it's just that I saw the BBs in their original form and that was enough. I don't need to see them "front" a support band.
@@chriscianciolo5823 Lol...Yep, that means I'm an old guy. And I can tell you they sounded just as great on their own in the 60s as they do now with about 8-10 musicians "backing" them up.
@@chriscianciolo5823 I might add. The BBs never sounded really as good as they did in the 60s. I'm talking about 70s, 80s, 90s etc. One of the reasons they sound good this decade is b/c they make an effort to duplicate their actual recordings. A lot of liberty taken by them in those other decades.
A fan from Indonesia here. Great group... 👏
Great live version of Little Honda

Do not go and see the performance of Do it again at the Capitol in 2017, just don't... Stick to this video
13 guys to do what 5 guys used to do.

This is funny. The Beach Boys Tribute band....featuring a few 70 + year old originals to front it up. That's about it.
I mean... is it a tribute band if 5 original members are onstage? LOL
