Eric Lilliebridge 400kg/881lbs x 4 Raw Squat w/ wraps PR

  • This was the start of my 1st week for meet prep training for GPA Worlds in Sydney, Australia in November. I had planned to try 855x5 for this training session which would have been a PR for 5 reps, but I decided to go a little bit heavier and tried a 4 rep PR instead. This was my first time putting on belt and wraps since my last meet back in the middle of July. This was almost my first time squatting at our new gym with a different mono lift and a thicker/heavier bar. The squat bar we have here at this gym is a 60lb texas squat bar. I was training with a 55lb squat bar before. So it felt a little weird to train with the thicker bar, but I adapted to it once I got to my top set. We also have some 50kg plates at our new gym so I decided to throw those on for my top set instead of having plates stacked out all the way to the end. Overall this training session felt great and I'm very happy with the way things are starting out for my meet prep training cycle being no where near peaked at the moment.

      Haha, I didn't pay attention to that. Looks like most of them are guys doing it in single ply gear for a single.

      @@EricLilliebridge Mart Seim the weightlifter does this without knee wraps, below parallel and properly with the bar on his upper back not on his scapula. If he squatted like you with wraps and low bar he would do this for 10 reps easy.

    Strong, strong, strong.........STRONG!!!! Awesome dude.
    I am squatting 170KG for 5 sets of 5 at the moment and I am hoping to make it to 200 KG for 5 sets of 5. I know that is no where near what you can do but watching guys like you lift huge amounts of weight helps to train and inspires me as it must take you a lot of dedication and courage to push yourself to that level. The fact is that weight could literally kill you easily if it fell on you and yet you still get under that bar and squat. Respect to you sir you do the sport and your country proud. :)

    Awesome work, Eric! This is just an observation I noticed and was wondering about it for a while. On your heaviest sets, after shooting out of the hole you tend to either turn your left hip out/turn your knee out (more-so than the right leg/side). Almost as if you are leading with your left side first? I dont know if it is related the camera angle, or because of maybe the how tight the knee wraps are, or maybe I am just imagining it. I never seen anyone mention this before and I was curious. Once again, awesome work and thanks for showcasing awe-inspiration strength!

      In the first 5 seconds of all of my videos including this one, I always put down my body weight that I weighed in at when I woke up in the morning before doing the training session. I was 300lbs when I woke up in the morning before this. Lost some weight from not eating good the past few days. But I can easily gain that back in a day or two which I will. I have been sitting around 305lbs lately.

    • @EricLilliebridge
      @EricLilliebridge  9 лет назад +11

      I would hope not, it clearly shows 50kg on the inside of the plates. Also, the majority of 50kg plates are colored green. I've seen some in black before, but most are green. So you can tell by color as well. That's pretty common with kilo plates. 25kg plates are usually red, 20kg plates are usually blue, 15kg plates are usually yellow.

    • @EricLilliebridge
      @EricLilliebridge  9 лет назад +30

      No it's not. The 50kg plates are around 110.25lbs each. Four of those is 441lbs. Then you add in the 60lb bar which = 501lbs... then eight 45's (360lbs) (501lbs+360lbs=861lbs) then add a 10lb plate to each side, 881lbs.
