Thanks mate, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode. I am keen to ride through the west US, I have traveled through there a few times but never on a motorbike. Thanks for watching.

Yes I think Spiti Valley is one of the top 2 spots that I have been able to ride through. Someone described it as both beautiful and apocalyptic at the same time which does kind of sum it up. I am stoke they let me through so i had the opportunity to explore it.

Absolutely mind blowing landscapes, never seen anything so good ..... lots of precarious drop-offs there ... looks like it all exists on roadworks and more roadworks .. because of water and more water .... cheers 🦘🦘🦘
Yes definitely a mind blowing valley(s) to ride through, yes with out the constant road works there would be no way to keep the route open due to the mountains in relative terms being so young, they are constantly crumbling effected by the rain, snow and wind. As always thanks for watching mate.
I realized, I don't care where you are going to, what exactly is the itinerary, you could show me 3 clips of Roam New Zealand in between this and I will still be happy. wow thanks for the information, I didn't know that at the time. I can see why it took so long to build, just getting the supplies there would have been a mission. it was a stunning looking bridge. Thanks for watching.
When I was there India had just the one time zone all the way, E to W. It made for early starts and early finishes to each days ride. Really enjoying following your ride. Thank you for sharing it. L
Another cracking video Joe some challenging tracks you certainly looked like you were ready for your hotel at the end of the day 😴 safe travels mate from a cold and snowy Uk
Yes you fowl like your in the middle of nowhere then you come around the corner and there is a digger haha. They have to keep the roads open somehow I guess. Thanks for watching.
I did these roads with Himalayan hero's a couple of years ago, we did it in the oppersite direction but it was spectacular and the size of those boulders, I so want to go back and do it again
It was a longer day I started at just before 5am and finished just before 5pm Stoping for checkpoints and to take photos. But it was definitely worth it. Thanks for watching
Nothing wrong with just hopping on a plane and going. One of the first things I learned from my Australian friends was, "No worries, she’ll be right mate." Just think, if you hadn’t have gone, you would have missed it all. I think this is like the one thousandth time I'll be saying those shots are beautiful!
yes I think the "No worries, she’ll be right mate." is something you're born with here along with being able to swim haha. The Himalayas just keeps dishing up amazing landscape after amazing landscape and that not just every day but every hours it seems. As always thanks for watching.
yes the valley I guess started at the sign at 22.05 just before the second checkpoint. As I have no idea where I am riding through these places and don't ride with a tour guide I am just guessing on the little information I have, and better wording would have been I am in the valley on the way to Spiti Valley. I hope you enjoyed the episode.
Yes it was a great road turning into a track in some locations. Again the Himalayas keeps delivering stunning landscapes. As always thanks for watching
Awesome as always Joe and I certainly hope you found your number 25 negative in that amazing landscape. I also hope you had a couple of boot beers as well 😊

Yes the altitude doesn't seem to affect me like the first week, no laboured breathing. Definitely sensory overload up here I don't know how the Himalayas keep delivering so many unique stunning places. As always thanks for watching Ralf.

Can’t think of a better way to start the weekend then watching one of your videos Joe. The road to Spiti valley looked like a true adventure, loved it but maybe your body thought otherwise considering the time you spent in the saddle. Just stunning scenery, I can’t get enough of it. Your next episode looks epic as well, can hardly wait……….awesome stuff Joe.
It's great to hear you enjoyed the episode. The road to Spiti was an incredible track to ride and explore. Yes it was along day as I started before 5am and finished just before 5pm but totally worth it, the Himalayas just keeps delivering. As always thanks for watching Marko.
My advice to Royal Enfield...If anyone visits one of your showrooms and is looking to buy either of the Himalayan models' (if you can still buy the 410), provide the prospective buyer with links to each of Joe Ryan's videos, the ones where he's riding a Himalayan. What an incredible advertisement for the RE brand Joe. And you're out there doing it, thanks again for putting these videos together, they really are 'cinematic quality', cheers Ant.
Thanks Ant, it's great to hear you are enjoying the series. I'll be doing a review of the 450 and how I found it at the end of the series. Thanks for watching.
Absolutely awesome series of episodes, Joe. May I be the class fool holding up his hand to ask the question (s) the rest of the class would like to ask? Could you do a recap, review of your trip when you finish? How, where you got the bike. Insurance, travel insurance in The UK only covers up to 125cc. Did you gey extra cover? When you travelled? What you wish you knew then, what you know now? What you wish you had taken with you and left behind? 450, 411 or 125cc doable? Most satisfying? Most logical? Navigation? Sim card - I read tourist sims don't work up there. Anything else you could add, too. Going to watch your Aus and Kiwi trips soon, too. I've watched a few different Himalayan bike trip series bit yours is just the absolute hands down best! Keep them coming, please 🙏
@@peternoble4172 Hi Peter at the end of the series I am doing a video review the bike and also another video on what it is like riding in the Himalayas for the first time, what I learnt and other information that might help people who are thinking of riding there. I can answer a couple of questions now like, as mentioned at the start of the first episode Royal Enfield lent me the bike I had no insurance there was nothing I needed that I didn't have in the 19kg I took as my checked luggage on the plane The size of the bike al depends on how you are going to ride it, all bikes would get through, if you were going to push it harder through the off road stuff I'd go with the 450 due to the suspension it is so much better, remember I ride well with in my abilities as I am riding solo, I ride dirt bikes as well so I am comfortable off road. If you are going to ride solo you need to know your ability and ride well with in it. As the area near the border is a bit sensitive the Indian government want to know who is in the area, prepaid sim cards is basically like a burner phone, so the only phones that work are ones on a plan and to do that you need a local permanent address, there are ways around it but you don't need one. If you want to navigate get one that has offline maps. And if you break down there are villages with in a days walk from most places and usually there are trucks other vehicles coming past every so often even in the remote areas. I hope that helps.
Merci mon pote, c'est super d'entendre que tu as apprécié l'épisode. L'Himalaya ne cesse de nous offrir des paysages toujours plus incroyables. Comme toujours, merci de nous avoir regardés.
that big yellow bridge is the highest bridge of the world for passenger and commercial vehicles, and India has world's world's highest railway bridge too, in Arunachal pradesh.
@freewayproject SPITI Valley is my second home, and I've been going there from 2013 Every Year for months. Also, you can see the world's highest Post Office, World's Most Dangerous road and world's most disturbed Mountain range, that is why you see tremendous landslides and Stone shooting areas throughout Himachal Pradesh. I hope you come back soon. I would be honored to show you North-Eastern India next time you plan to visit my country.
I am stoked that the road into the valley was opened so I could get through, was a great track to ride, so many unique sections. as always it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode.
It is an incredible place to ride and explore. Thanks for the information, I am running out of time on this trip but will be back and put Uttarakhand on the list of places to explore.
Great episode, Joe. Those cars @ 8:24 really were a heart in mouth time watching, let alone being there. It's interesting because I've been watching another channel and they were saying that Spiti valley was closed and just went on the information they could find, hats off to you for trying and getting the reward. I'll look forward to the next chapter. ATB
Yes the driving by some here is well not desirable when you're on a bike. I always ride as if everybody is trying to hit me, so hopefully they gives me more of a chance when they do stupid things. Yes all the information I saw as well said it was closed, but always worth checking, I had already had to turn around 3 time so I wasn't worried if it was a fourth, but so stoked I got to ride those valleys all the way to Spiti Valley, such an incredible track to ride. As always thanks for watching.
Thanks for the information, I did not know that when I rode over it, I had no information about that route expect that it was worth doing which it definitely was. It was a great piece of engineering and also a beautiful bridge. Thanks for watching
Incredible video ! The section of the road from that cut on the highway to Kunzum pass is much more RAW than anything else I have seen. You are literally riding on the river bed, full of water streams and mud. Visited there 5 years back and this year also in the first half of June. Before, it was a different story altogether. Most of the river crossings weren't covered that time and you had to go through some knee deep water. Now, it is still quite raw, but pristine anyway ! Sadly, this series is coming to an end.
Thanks mate, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode. It was an incredible valley to ride through, I was stoked when they let me through. It would be one I'd definitely do again. Well with the end of one series means the beginning of another. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the information I did not know that when riding over the bridge, it is a great piece of engineering and a beautiful bridge. Thanks for watching.
Thanks mate, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode. Spiti is right up there as one of the best places I have ridden on this journey, I am so grateful that the road was open and I got to explore it. As always thanks for watching
They may both be nestled amidst the same Himalayas, but there's a noticeable difference in the terrain of Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. It must've been a relief for you as well, riding into this green cover post the two weeks spent in a cold desert...
Yes it is a real difference once you get down a bit, everything is covered in green. Both beautiful in their own way. Such an amazing place to explore. Thanks for watching.
You’ll need to go back I’m afraid Joe…you need to see it all again in the snow! Different but equally awesome. We got held up by a massive avalanche at that waterfall at 12:15 for five hours - didn’t get to Keylong until 11pm (scary roads in the dark!). Great vids 👍🏼
It would look amazing covered in snow that's for sure. That's a late end to the day for you. Well the saying goes "it's not an adventure until something goes wrong" it sounds like you had quite the adventure. Thanks for watching
It's great to see lots of people enjoying the series and keen to get out and ride as that's what it is all about. I am uploading prints now plus the new poster to the website.
I do have a video of what I bring on the New Zealand Journey which is the same as this one except I did not bring camping gear this time and the bikes are all stock as Royal Enfield lends me the bikes so I can not change them.
Gr8 video specially when u were coming down from the top of hill Lucky to be at right place at right time when fog surrounded the hills How long you have been there
In a reply to one of my comments you said something like "oh it must have been great back then (30 years ago)" That road into the Spiti valley, that's what it was almost all like. So you certainly experienced it. Except of course I was on a Bullet.
That would have been a real adventure on a bullet. I had an idea of riding here a long time ago and actually look at what bike I could have got hold of and it was a bullet. Wish I did it back then but still stoked I got to do it now. As always thanks for watching.
@freewayproject I'm stoked that you're bringing it into my living room. It's a lot more interesting than doing it myself. No altitude headache, no diarrhoea, no hypoxia and no expectation of being crushed by a Tata truck at any moment!
thanks Steve it is an incredible place to ride and explore. I would film with more people but most don't like to be on camera, they put there hand up when I bring the camera out.
@@tush_2870 For the footage from the bike I am using a DJI Osmo action, for all other filming I am using a Sony A7SIII, for taking photos I am using an old Sony A7RIII from 2017. I only have space for 2 lenses which are a Sony GM 24mm 1.4 and a Sony GM 70mm - 200mm 2.8. I have a DJI Mavic drone
@@freewayprojectHi Joe, you just keep turning on the AWE factor. With your DJI camera I notice on occasions there is some bubbly blur on the very bottom of the video and sometimes it creeps slightly up the sides. Seems like the rocky terrain causes it more than smooth surfaces ??

Hello Joe, wow again awesome landscapes, Joe what is the timeline there, today here in U.S. it’s 8:30 in the morning and Nov. 23 rd., I often how it would be on a non motorbike just the quietness of it all and at a slower pace, but I’m sure being on a tight schedule then the motorcycle is the way to go there, this place never gets old, only wished I had the time to see it in person before it gets blacktopped, thanks for sharing, sounded like your time is short there, I really enjoy your spirit and your commentary of your travels, as always thanks much. The secret life of Walter Mitty is one of my favorite movies. The question is did he do it or did we get drawn in to his imaginstion? You're at least doing it Joe. Epic!
It is a great film, I guess it doesn't really matter if he did or didn't, if it inspires people to get out there own their own adventure then it's done its job. Thanks for watching.

When I was there India had just the one time zone all the way, E to W. It made for early starts and early finishes to each days ride. Really enjoying following your ride. Thank you for sharing it. L
Thanks Leon, it great to hear you have been enjoying the series. I do like an early start.
Great editing corresponding to the BGM.
I am amazed by your guts to ride solo in this terrain, even at night.
Bravo.
Thanks mate, I have spent a bit of time on a enduro/dirt bike so I am comfortable in a little rougher terrain.
Thanks for watching.
Another cracking video Joe some challenging tracks you certainly looked like you were ready for your hotel at the end of the day 😴 safe travels mate from a cold and snowy Uk
You must visit the Key monastery in Kaza
Unfortunately I am running out of time Ricardo, I'll have to put it on the list for next time I ride here. Thanks for watching.
Bloody amazing Joe! You are riding into unknown other worldly places. Yet there is always a digger, and people!! Brilliant. Thank you!
I already thinking of coming back haha. Definitely work riding here multiple times, there is so much i have missed. Thanks for watching.
What can I say? Magnificent scenery ,beautifully captured and presented once more .
Thanks as always Noel, the Himalayas just keeps delivering.
That day must have been tiring to the extreme! I don't know how you do it, but I'm glad you do.
@10:35 you were in Lahaul valley, Spiti valley is after you cross the kunzum pass. You made the right decision to go Spiti instead of crowded Manali
yes the valley I guess started at the sign at 22.05 just before the second checkpoint. As I have no idea where I am riding through these places and don't ride with a tour guide I am just guessing on the little information I have, and better wording would have been I am in the valley on the way to Spiti Valley.
I hope you enjoyed the episode.
What a great road, with so many different landscapes. Good to see a bit of green as well! Cheers
Yes it was a great road turning into a track in some locations. Again the Himalayas keeps delivering stunning landscapes. As always thanks for watching
Awesome as always Joe and I certainly hope you found your number 25 negative in that amazing landscape. I also hope you had a couple of boot beers as well 😊
yes that 25, haha nice to see someone got the reference. As always thanks for watching.
What is number 25 ?
@@romanattri9261 In the film the character Walter Mitty goes on a journey around the world to find the Photographer to ask him where is the negative (the photo was taken on film and on film each negative 9the thing the photo is produce from) are numbered) The photo they are after is numbered 25.
Another great episode Joe and the scenery is amazing.
When I thought I had seen it all, the Himalayas just keep delivering. As always thanks for watching.
Wow Joe that was sensory overload, such beauty at pace. You must be fit and attuned to the altitude. Spectacular.
Yes the altitude doesn't seem to affect me like the first week, no laboured breathing. Definitely sensory overload up here I don't know how the Himalayas keep delivering so many unique stunning places. As always thanks for watching Ralf.
Crazy scenery again Joe 😎👍 And some crazy helmet hair too 😂 Love ya work 👌
Yes it is wild and so is the scenery. Thanks mate.
You made my day ryan , What a beautiful video, stunning mountains. Last scene was nice when boys playing cricket front of the beautiful mountains ! that a nice shoot. Thanks for sharing, have a great day 🙏
Thanks Roman, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode. yes after a long day it was great to sit and watch the locals having fun in the late afternoon sun. Thanks for watching.
What a magical journey you walk Joe,full of mystery ,full of wonder.
And I thank you for bringing us along ✨🎊
All I can say is the Himalayas just keep delivery stunning unique places to ride through. Thanks as always for watching.
Great episodes Joe....radical roads and drop offs though! Always great therapy viewing your films 🙏
Thanks Mark, it was one of the best rides of the whole journey. As always thanks for watching.
Thanks again for showing us the other unexplored side of our Himachal Pradesh . Again a wonderful poetry video.
You are welcome, it was an amazing valley to ride through, so many unique landscapes. As always thanks for watching.
What a spectacular ride! Thanks for sharing this, you do such a great job!👍
Thanks mate, it was one of the best on the journey. As always thanks for watching.
Joe your presentation and videography/photos are fantastic. So inspirational. Ride safe 😊
Thanks Iain, it is an amazing area to ride and explore. Thanks for watching.
Soooo well done!!
Thanks mate, it was an incredible valley to ride through.
I can answer a couple of questions now like, as mentioned at the start of the first episode Royal Enfield lent me the bike
I had no insurance
there was nothing I needed that I didn't have in the 19kg I took as my checked luggage on the plane
The size of the bike al depends on how you are going to ride it, all bikes would get through, if you were going to push it harder through the off road stuff I'd go with the 450 due to the suspension it is so much better, remember I ride well with in my abilities as I am riding solo, I ride dirt bikes as well so I am comfortable off road.
@@freewayproject thanks Joe, great information.
The secret life of Walter Mitty one of my favorite movies. Joe keep going man you travel us with your vlogs
It is a great movie, it's great to hear you are enjoying the series, thanks for watching
Love the photography.
Thanks Graeme, it helps that the Himalayas has so many incredible landscapes to shoot. Thanks for watching.
Loved it ❤
Thanks
that big yellow bridge is the highest bridge of the world for passenger and commercial vehicles, and India has world's world's highest railway bridge too, in Arunachal pradesh.
Thanks for the information, I had no idea when I was riding over the bridge, it was a stunning bridge. Thanks for watching
How good was that Spiti valley, again thank you for sharing every one of these I watch sets me on taking this journey.
Thanks Joe.
I am stoked that the road into the valley was opened so I could get through, was a great track to ride, so many unique sections. as always it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode.
Great way to end my day again Joe. Thanks so much
You're welcome JB, it's always great to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching
Awesome ride and views! Would recommend a ride through green valleys of Uttarakhand as well.
It is an incredible place to ride and explore. Thanks for the information, I am running out of time on this trip but will be back and put Uttarakhand on the list of places to explore.
Once again, simply sublime ! Thanks again Joe.
Your'e welcome, thanks for watching.
When you're at your final destination: Please turn around and do it all over again!! I'm gonna mis these vid"s!! Thanks!!
Well my visa is short for India but there will be another journey.
Thanks for watching.
Another excellent video.
Thanks Anthony, glad you enjoyed it.
25:54 the bridge you crossed is called "Chicham Bridge" - it's world's highest suspension bridge above sea level - 4145 meters.
That bridge was Chicham Bridge, highest in Asia❤
Thanks for the information I did not know that when riding over the bridge, it is a great piece of engineering and a beautiful bridge. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic journey mate... not many motorcyclist comes to Lahaul & Spiti. Its a wonderful place and with your camera, it was just beautiful. 💖💖
Thanks mate, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode. Spiti is right up there as one of the best places I have ridden on this journey, I am so grateful that the road was open and I got to explore it. As always thanks for watching
what a dream Joe :-) thanks for sharing it with us
The Himalayas keep delivering more unique stunning places. As always thanks for watching.
Joe, I am tipping you would enjoy riding Morocco and South Africa.
Both places are on the list, hopefully I'll get there one day.
Love your videos and adventures! Keep going!
It's great to hear you are enjoying the series, thanks for watching.
Let's go , tomorrow i'm gonna start my morning with this video . Pretty excited
I hope you enjoy the episode.
Amazing..again.
Love it..been thru some of them roads & towns..
Your vids & narration fantastic...
Well done mate!!
Thanks Izzie, as always it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode. Thanks for watching.
You and your video's are what dreams are made of...everyone is more beautiful then the last. It's adventure art at it's finest! Thank you and ride on.
It's great to see lots of people enjoying the series and keen to get out and ride as that's what it is all about.
I am uploading prints now plus the new poster to the website.
Very nice trip < Thank you for all your work. It really good.
It's great to hear you are enjoying the series. Thanks for watching
Joe please make a video of your setup.
I do have a video of what I bring on the New Zealand Journey which is the same as this one except I did not bring camping gear this time and the bikes are all stock as Royal Enfield lends me the bikes so I can not change them.
@ will check it 👍🏻
Another masterpiece buddy. Keep it up
Thanks mate, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode.
Oh yeah, Friday morning movies!
I hope you enjoy it.
Gr8 video specially when u were coming down from the top of hill
Lucky to be at right place at right time when fog surrounded the hills
How long you have been there
Thanks mate, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode. I was there for a bit over 3 weeks
In a reply to one of my comments you said something like "oh it must have been great back then (30 years ago)"
That road into the Spiti valley, that's what it was almost all like.
Not just a Bullet it would have been cast iron 4 speed 350. The legendary BULLET.
Scenery is amazing, but I would love to see a bit of interaction with the locals, or other travellers if possible.
thanks Steve it is an incredible place to ride and explore. I would film with more people but most don't like to be on camera, they put there hand up when I bring the camera out.
Excellent stuff as always, beautifull seeing some greenery there. You better keep on riding as were going to suffer when u stop😂
Yes such a difference one you get lower down, so so green. Well hopefully i can get onto another journey soon.
@25.40 isnt that chicham bridge ? one of the highest in the world.
Someone else did mention it was, I am not sure, all I heard was that Spiti Valley was worth riding through. I was sure it was going to be closed.
I love your series even though we had disagreement on when you do v log and background is blurred. hahaa
It's great to hear you are still enjoying the series. I still only have the one lens that make the background blurry haha
@@freewayproject which camera do you use
Another rippa Joe👍🏽🍺. Al
Thanks Allan, as always great to hear you enjoyed it.
Every week I just keep thinking it can't get anymore EPIC 😮 but then you go and post a new video 😂 and you up the WOW factor again along with even more epic helmet hair 🤣 absolutely love it. Thank you Joe
The Himalayas just keeps delivery. Yep lots of helmet hair, it was wet so had to pack the cap away. As always thanks for watching.
You really have this art of story stelling Enjoying every bit of the entire journey always eagerly waiting for your videos to upload. Keep travelling, keep exploring and keep filming.❤❤
Thanks Louis, it's great to hear you have been enjoying the series. There is still more to come. Thanks for watching.
Rob in U.S.
Again the Himalayas keeps delivering more amazing landscapes. yes if you were hiking through here everything would be at a much slower quieter pace. It would be great if you had more time to soak it all in.
As always thanks for watching.
20:26 I bet that shortcut was tempting lol
always tempted haha. Thanks for watching.
love the hair.keep it in the edit...haha
haha, it has a mind of it's own, that why I normally have a cap handing. Thanks for watching.
I had to finish this week with Joe’s video. Great video as always mate. Its like a ritual every week 😅. Just a little suggestion the music seems to be overpowering in the video not sure if I alone felt like that but just letting you know
Thanks mate, it's always great to hear you enjoyed the episode. The Himalayas just keeps on giving spectacular tracks to ride.
thanks for watching
