I love how Claudio acts as if he's never seen these instruments before, and then instantly plays them like a pro. So good to see someone who 'gets' the SWAM stuff and plays each one with the appropriate style and technique. Terrific demo - Bravo!
MovieKid Techlife Breath Controller is from TEControl (www.tecontrol.se). It’s USB, so you can connect it to the computer and play SWAM from both a MIDI keyboard and the breath controller
What are the settings being used to get this sax sound. Mine doesn’t sound like this. How do you get the breathy Ben Webster like Ben Webster and how is it controlled….? I have Version 2 but I am considering upgrading to the All In bundle but I don’t want to be disappointed if the voices don’t sound like the demos. I am not a tweaker. I just want to load it and play. I am using an EWI 5000. Thanks
Viva l'Italia! This is the best discovery in music I have made in years. Scary how realistic and smart this method is vs Samples. If this is the beginning lord knows where digital music will be in 5 years. Bravo Bravo!
This is an extremely expensive video! 🤨😊😳 This video compelled me to buy your complete pack of instruments. + TEC + divisimate + EAreverb It just created a new spark and reignited my love for music. Love it all…
Being a sax and keyboard player of many years, I've always winced at the sound of woodwind instruments on keyboards, but damn, that's getting much closer! Bravo!
@@romaric9874 I get it. I play the saxophone, but I also have a Roland Aerophone. I like the synthsounds, but I don't feel the need for those emulated sounds. I can imagine them being useful in a studio environment though, if you don't want to hire someone who can play the real thing.
@@romaric9874 Yes. It's a midi wind cotroller so you can trigger any vst-instrument. It has some usefull sounds onboard, depending on what you're into.
Spectacular. I've heard other demos, but these are astounding. Like the real instruments, it takes virtuosity to bring these to beautiful life. As it should. So I am so glad to hear these particular demonstrations, by the two players here (and on Dr. Mix's own clip). They are a class above the rest, and show just how great these Audio Modelling instruments can sound. Bravissimo!
This is a GREAT demonstration and tutorial.. I first bought the SWAM strings, but got overwhelmed by the controls between the RISE keyboard and the SWARM interface.. You guys have really put a LOT of thought into this virtual instrument. This is the future of orchestral and other instruments. In my years of playing, I realize the subtlety, and articulations of tradition instruments, are what really set them apart from electronic sounds. Your guest here should do a song with the group '2 Cello's". That would be very interesting.
Claudio should have an Olympic medal, for diving into something new, and being such an instant virtuoso. The music is etched into his soul, and his technique is masterful. Transposing from other instruments is impressive, but he just makes it look effortless. What an amazingly fun video? Thank you, guys.
@@Doctormix Hi, I just wanted to ask about the breath controller. I have one but I'm never sure how open to have the air outlet on it. I seem to have to blow quite hard to get to 127 - just wondered if you had any hints?
This is something that we must acknowledge - this instruments not only are behaving like real instruments but also they doesn't take so much space and computer resources. There are Audio Modeling instruments in Noise App from Roli that sounds FANTASTIC!!!
This is JAW dropping! Stefano, your audio modeling is a game changer. Can this be utilized with a Roi controller (MPE)? Dr. Mix thanks for highlighting this technology. I drooled straight through this demo. Beautifully expressive technology for strings, reeds, etc. BRAVO :)
James Hall thanks! SWAM instruments can be played through any MIDI comtroller, even MPE, including the ROLI Seaboard. Indeed, we are ROLI partners. Look at this video: ruclips.net/video/11Qprwtzl6s/видео.html
This is amazing!! I can't wait until there's more experimental things done with this technology - I'm imagining instruments that sound like one instrument but have the physics of a completely different one - or synth tones with breath control... this opens so many new doors for music production, and I'm super excited for it!
Claudio is so funny! He has so much energy and enthusiasm! Like a kid in a candy store. Love it! His reaction to the Yamaha CP-88 was my deciding factor on buying it. Keep up the awesome work!
Only thing I'd say is the portamento sounds a tad linear like a synth, especially on the cello. A bit of nonlinear randomness should fix that. Otherwise, amazing!
I set my joystick to cc5. When I push forward, the portamento amount increases. It works brilliantly, real-time control, sliding from note to note + pitch bend, under my control. Which is why I love Roland/Korg joysticks.
@@Rialas i love roland joysticks for that reason makes easier to modulate too. Im far more used to wheels though and beating the hell out of them though

The little bit at the end where he did the clarinet run for Rhapsody in Blue was FANTASTIC!! I can see where audio modelling far surpasses sampling for a more original sound. Well done you guys!😍

How would a WindSynth player (e.g. EWI, Sylphyo) access the SWAM portamento (e.g. at 0:39 and 3:20) without the ability to play polyphony??
