- Amazon is retaliating against Chicago warehouse workers who won a raise after striking in December. Amazonians United Chicagoland leader Rakyle Johnson was terminated in May. Workers are demanding thatJohnson be reinstated and the manager, who has a history of racist behavior, be fired.

I'm glad I'm retired. I worked as a service representative at AT&T for over 30 years and NEVER experienced this kind of 🐂 shit.
I also made substantially more than $15 an hour and that was 20 years ago.
I shop at Amazon due to mobility problems and old age but sometimes I feel guilty about shopping there.
Yet another reason why I'll never buy from Amazon until they do something right, which means treat people equally dependant on their race or ethnicity.

I went through the same exact thing at Amazon CLT2 in 2018 in Charlotte N.C at the old dowd rd location, they would follow me to the bathroom constantly, I couldn't help I've had allergies since a child, then they would send supervisor to watch me while I worked and you knew you was being watch because they weren't doing any work, I've never experienced intimidation like that at any job I've ever worked for, that whole experience traumatized me so much I havet been the same since because I really enjoyed my job and just wanted to provide for my children, I'm a single father of 2 but I was treated like a thieve and aggressively harassed until I quit, no one deserves that treatment especially when they just wanna make a honest living for there family

Even the security guards have no respect for women using the bathrm, HE didnt BOTHER asking if anyone was in there? They are supposed to do that. Guess who got the write up? Blamed for not letting a worker do his job.. the lady. He violated her privacy. Was nasty about it too. Didnt bother saying excuse me and get OUT. They are supposed to wait till the ladies are OUT.

I am very sorry for the way that you all were treated at Amazon by what was supposed to be decent people and management I don’t care if you’re brown white yellow green purple orange we all bleed red we’re all brothers and sisters and we should all be respectful of each other but far as unions go back in the 60s and 70s when the unions were getting started up until I believe the early 80s that’s why they were sending all of the jobs that we were doing here in the United States they sent all those jobs overseas because they could get the job done cheaper I also worked in a union but when you work for a union and they have to pay more and more and then your retirement I learned through age and education that’s why they sent all the jobs out of the United States overseas the unions run the country the businesses out of United States and we still don’t have them
That is fantasy. European installations of Amazon are unionized. The people in Europe can afford housing, have national healthcare as a right, and get paid paternity and maternity leave as well as weeks and months of vacation.
