If you need to get the code after the first setup you find "console info" and reset the Xbox it gives you the option to keep your games but you will need to redo your settings.

I’ve had the app years ago with the base xbox one and made a new account. Before you could just connect to it with ease, why is it so complicated now?? Even with the old xbox one. I’m not going to have to wait for all my games to install if the “keep games and apps” fail because I’ve heard some people didn’t get to keep some of their stuff. If I’m seeing it right, it appears the code is for brand new, out-of-the-box consoles. For consoles already set up, you’ll need to do the “Add existing console” option in the set up menu

GUYS! If you wanna connect you’re Xbox to your phone later it’s simple go to settings, device and connexions, distance functionality, disable it, put it back on and go and you’re Xbox app. Click on add an existing console and BOOM done!

That’s only because when I went to log back in after I logged out, I put in a non-existent email address by accident. When you do that all you verification checks go to that email.... so I uninstalled it and everything and it still wouldn’t let me back in.

All you do is go and reset your Xbox settings. You can reset it while keeping your games and it’ll treat it like as you being able to start it up over but keep all your downloads. I personally found this out so I know it works

I ended up having to update my controller for it to work because when you test your setup after your remote features are enabled, it tells you a list of things with ticks and things that would be better so you might need to update your controller
