@@user-nk8kd2pq3yyou can definitely balance the two though. Nobody said he has to be peak in the other sports. I ride 70 miles each day on top of powerlifting and BJJ and I weigh around 85-95kg. It is certainly possible
As a previous runner, people don’t understand how brutal and challenging running can be. The man in the video likely is eating much more than the average person. Since he’s a marathon runner he’s probably burning at least 1k calories from training alone (rough estimate might be higher). Everyone’s got different goals and strengths. A bodybuilder could lift more weight than a runner but could not come close to the same level of a runner aerobically. Same goes viste versa.
A bodybuilder cant even scratch his back, for me is very dumb
And his shins is much, much tougher, together with his balancing which makes him a better, functioning human. Plus humans are better for training endurance too. But for me, I prefer to look more muscular rather than too skinny.

I'm not a competitive cyclist, but I love knocking out the miles on my bike. I'm working my way to 100 miles in a single ride. I can now do 60 miles, but to get to 100 I still need to drop about 10 more pounds so that I'm not having to pedal as hard to move weight. I also work out in the gym doing a mix of cardio, upper and core, and plenty of leg. Not trying to bulk up, just get stronger to improve my riding. This young man is exercising in a way that fits his goals, and there's nothing wrong with that.

A male pair figure skater lifts more than your average competitive bodybuilder, has way more stamina than them, is incomparably better at running (skaters run long-distance cross typically), flexibility, agility and pretty much everything else except for undressed photos. Being half their muscle volume. You won't notice them wearing a shirt there's is anything physically special (they're big guys, but nothing extra) - until they lift a heavy barbell with one hand as if it was a feather or something. Or clap three times during a push-up. Or dance. Or blindsee their behinds.
Mad respect to bro, running requires great amount of discipline and you getting into the zone, it burns so much
I started 5K parkruns couple of years back. I enjoy challenging myself. All my runs were high to maximum intensity. When i pushed myself to the max, running the last 1km of my 5k was running on the edge of self destruction, I'd literally cross the line and collapse and close my eyes, gasping for air, suffering systematic fatigue, couldnt walk for 5 mins. In body building, you only ever push yourself to failure for short periods, 10s of seconds at a time. With running, you can be on the edge of failure (in my case) for -510 mins. It was a great learning experience for me, teaching my mind and body to endure prolonged discomfort and will power.

Running is much harder than bodybuilding or powerlifting. Give that man his respect
I wouldn’t say “harder” because it depends on your goal. If you’re training for Mr. Olympia you’re working your ass off for hours every day. And anyone can be a crappy runner without much effort such as myself. For olympic runners though yes it’s also insanely difficult since they’re running between 80 and 100 miles per week.
@@AngrySlav-mh7phyeah I think it just depends like you said but for me personally I'm a HS runner and I used to go to the gym during the winter trying to "bulk" and in my experience running is much more difficult especially mentally because you're doing it for so long
@@AngrySlav-mh7ph”ass of for hours” mike mentzer enters the chat
@@annomynous.2685 In my experience running is easier. I saw more gains with running than bodybuilding/powerlifting. It takes far less time to become competition ready in running (in my case, my weak self was running marathons within 1.5 years starting from only being able to run for 3mins at a time) than in lifting. Once you're joining competitions, it's much easier to push yourself and to stick to a routine. Running also takes less discipline and less mental real estate. Especially as an ectomorph, I have to do a significant lifestyle change just to get better at the gym: getting better sleeping habits, counting calories/protein, eating more is always a big chore, planning meals and lift progression, bulk/cutting cycles, supplements, etc. Even if I didnt ate well that day, I can still smash my running goals for that day, whereas with lifting you'd definitely feel the need to having eaten well the past 24 hours if you want to lift plates.
The marathon with lifting is seeing hardly noticeable gains for a year, and having to push yourself to still hit the gym to do these boring exercises and continue that lifestyle. The bodybuilder lifestyle is harder once you're out of college and have more responsibilities. I just gave up lifting and just replaced it with BJJ + crossfit + marathons + spartan races. That may sound a lot more but the training for these is less grindy and more fun, and each benefits the other like for example BJJ benefits a lot from crossfit/lifting as most throws and takedowns in competition are mostly based on explosive strength than technique, meanwhile BJJ makes you train a more dynamic endurance because BJJ has an extremely high effort-to-pause ratio (most people in my gym even quit other cardio and now just rely on BJJ) where according to studies it's 6:1.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm not into running and prefer lifting, but I can easily say this lifestyle is far healthier than over 90% of bodybuilders. Great video!!

The magic of sport lies in the enormous variety of possibilities that exist to be in shape depending on your physical faculties. All those people who go to a gym just to look good, feel happy in front of a mirror and belittle the effort of others will never stop being potential cowards incapable of facing real challenges.
The beauty of a gymnast's performance the physical power of a weightlifter the technical prowess of a soccer player, the effort of a heptathlon runner even the innate talent of a chess player. Everything deserves the same respect
There's sort of an objective standard here though: He's too skinny, while most body builders / strongmen are too big. The ideal aesthetic and athleticism will be somewhere between the extremes. But props where due to anyone who is competing on the outliers. It's just not as ideal in conforming to the golden mean. It's remarkable that almost everyone in the gym is training for aesthetics. The idea that an athlete goes to gym or trains to improve performance in a particular discipline has become so incredibly alien to people. As a sprinter, I think I look pretty athletic and decent, I'm really not interested in 'everyday upper-body day' guys telling me I need to focus more on my biceps.

As a calisthenics practitioner, I admire runners for their great physical endurance. I myself do cardio for 20 minutes and I find it very exhausting. In my opinion, stamina is much better and harder to obtain than strength or speed.
Same discipline here. Truth. I have a runner as a colleague. Very friendly guy!! When I do Push-Ups, Pull-Ups or just different areas (arm, belly, shoulder, legs) just with my body weight every day in my lunch break he shouts after the 60th Push Up (20normal, 20 burpees, 20 archers) for example and 40th pull up "Man thats crazy! It seems so easy when you do it, someone put some weights on that guy"

Exactly, they don't care about fitness really, they care about their looks. It's all vanity and insecurity. You show them a marathon runner and they complain that he doesn't "look good" or whatever, they think everyone on earth is obsessed with looks as much as they are.@@thenablade858
when they get old they get on gear lol just to cope instead of living a healthy lifestyle , they expect their bodies to produce the same levels of test at 50 lmao @@thenablade858
I would like to have the physique of a fighter
I've seen his videos he eats 3000+ calories a day he is just burning so much with how much he runs
This is what i the most about bodybuilders, not all ofcourse but many feel like only their passion is the correct one and everyone who doesn't bodybuild is simply wasting their life
I entered this video thinking "but that's a runners build, he's probably a runner, he has no use for extra muscle" and I was right, ppl need to start minding their own business and start learning so they don't talk without knowing... Fitness community really went from the most wholesome and supportive place I found a couple years ago to being real toxic the deeper you get
These are the same people who abuse steroids or mf sarms and then die at 30. This guy will be alive at like 95.
Thanks, vids like these that keep me going.
Good advice
He looks more fit than all them commenting combined
Doesn't just look, he IS.
There was a super slim guy in my class who did tri-athlon, dude was super skinny but had INSANE stamina.
He always did the max tests in PE and could still go out for more.
Wild.
And probably has the strongest heart of all of them. Runners have insane cardiovascular strength.
and nothing else...whats your point?@@tkraid2575
No he isn't. Stop simping. This video has a wholesome message but it doesn't change the fact that he is skinny. Elite athletes are sometimes unbalanced or even physically weak, like he is. Only strong part about his body are his calves, heart and lungs.
@@randomnumbers84269 "unbalanced" you could say the same about bodybuilders who only wear sweatpants to the gym because they have stork legs and dread leg day. last time i checked you don't need large arms or shoulders in a marathon.
even GTA San Andreas made slim CJ faster than muscular CJ.
As a dude who wants to up his stamina in his boxing, I respect the roadwork and the tech behind proper running form and breathing. Helps with my footwork in the long run, too.
Literally.
Screw the hate wish all the best to him and everyone else 🗿❤️

Great video! Respect 🌟✊️❤️
I don’t get why people hate others who train we all are doing something for our bodies be it bodybuilding, powerlifting, running or what have you, the point is we are all in this game to improve ourselves together. We should be United not divided
"Hey Kipchoge, do you even lift, bro?"
Broo Kipchoge looks like he doesn't even do fitness brahhhh
Because that's how the worlds fittest marathon runners look, fitness does not equal bodybuilding. @@Blobbyo25
That guy is a legend, I could never, running is harddd
Bro is a machine. Just not a heavy one. But still a machine
people think everyone wants to be a bodybuilder lol
lol they should and this dude is below standard regardless
@@willblack8575 if thats what floats your boat bro
@@willblack8575why should they?
@@willblack8575He's more useful in extreme survival situations than any bodybuilder and that's a fact. A bodybuilder can only survive in an extremely industrialized and civilized society.
@@willblack8575 that's pathetic. he's an elitle athlete, a genetic phenom. you just lift up heavy objects and put them down thinking that makes you into some kind of super alpha warrior. while in reality you'r'e just like any other douchebag in the gym
Some "bodybuilders" have egos as fragile as an eggshell
Because their entire life is centred around being muscular instead of virtually anything else.
Its chicken and egg
Rather they were always fragile and thought bodybuilding would fix that
not just bodybuilder's literally everyone who has a profession that has something to do with their body have fragile ego's
Let the man be. He has his goals and he's achieving them.
Good video and good points!
I needed this video. I'm told i need to eat more despite being eating a lot of calories and being a runner myself because i just enjoy running long distances :'(
Running a 2:18 marathon is much rarer than not just a 100kg bench, probably a better comparison would be a 5 plate or 220kg bench. It's ridiculously spectacularly rare.
Anywhere under 2:20 and you are a freak athlete... I'd say it's more comparable to a 280kg bench. There are probably less than 200 people alive who can make that time
@@Blobbyo25world athletic rankings for men’s marathon only goes to 5000th place and that’s a 2:15 marathon, 2:18 is impressive but there are people who work full time running faster than that time.
Just for reference the Olympic standard for Paris is 2:08:10.
@@weiwei8072 Interesting, is that all time, or this year?
@@Blobbyo25 all time, if we sort by by year, 609 athletes ran 2:15:00 or faster in the last 12 months.

As they dedicate their asses their couches. Many people can be such haters. I love and respect the discipline it takes to have such high level of dedication. Keep running bro, I'm pulling for you to make the Olympics.

Great response,well done brother 👍👍❤
What a world it would be if people started minding their own business .
Facts, depending on your goals and the disipline you want to get in will define your type of boddy, im hitting thee gym because i like bodybulding also i do calistecnics with rings because i like the freedom that having your gym in your back, also helps me a lot to be stronger and develop a better mind muscle conection, My middle brother is a runner in relay races, he is very skiny but fast as f*ck but in short races, I do a low intencity joggin and my endurance is higher but if we run in a 100 mt he will destroy me lol, but i have more muscle mass and my goal is achive a decent physic in the long run. If i wanna be a 2 hours runner i will need to sacrifice my muscle mass and have more endurance in my legs, dont complain and be impres for the dedication that anyone can have.
I wish there were more people who think like you bro
Its not the type of body I want but I respect his dedication
Bodybuilders after running 1 mile: tell my parents i love them...😭😭😭😭
Most of the people I've trained with have been super helpful and willing to share. It's social media that's the problem.
i do admire his dedication, i just think that he could get a bit bigger so he isn´t just skin legs and bones
Then he will be worse at his sport. he doesnt give a shit about what you think bro
People need to think abt the world is not only abt bodybuilding💀
As a track athlete that run the 1500m and the 5k in really good paces. I can surely tell you that my man right here is skinny but it also has great stamina and endurance and healthy body too 🤝🏻
I'm a skinny girl but I know that this "skinny" guy is much healthier then me because he's a world class athlete while here am I typing this comment (a couch potato 😂). He looks really fit to me. As long as it's not a doctor's opinion that this person needs to eat more because they are too skinny such comments should be ignored. Because people will comment ignoring the facts and only caring about how they feel. Too skinny; eat more. Healthy ; you need to loose weight, trying to lose weight; oh no don't love yourself for who you are.
W Girl
Yea he is skinny but he is making money so got to do what you got to do
Pretty much what I've heard all my life, you're too skinny, you need to eat more, skeleton, etc.
My story: I was training almost 10 years at the gym, exactly powerlifting. 195cm and almost 110kg not super shredded but I think pretty good looking. Now it's almost 5 years when I got bored with the gym and started running. It's harder but also more fun - better events, more opportunities to travel etc. But although I'm still almost 95kg I hear all this years how good I looked and now I look like shit.💀
I probably would disagree and think you look better as a runner. The gym physique does not look good to me because it is very unnatural and once people get bigger they look unagile and slow.
@@annalau2596 I don't think you know what you're talking about cause your "gym physique" sound's like steroid user's instead of natty buff guy's who are insanely agile and quick
dw bro one my friend is the same height as you and was around the same weight and he just does calisthenics and cardio and he's been getting pretty ripped
@@Oinker-Sploinkeri know the difference between natural lifters and steroid users and agree that natural lifters can be mobil and agile. Still prefer the runners though...
I really love running, I decided leave it because I wanted to gain some muscle but I didn't enjoy the gym at all. After some problems that I had I decided to restart my running training and I can´t describe how happy I am, that feeling of pushing yourself beyond for an extra km is amaizing. I'm not a big muscular guy but now I have a great cardio resistance, I practice boxing and also I have a very good looking body.
I was almost worried by the title and thumbnail, but this channel has a solid reaction about the same as mine; yet, I'm simpler. "Let folks do their own thing with their bodies," Is my guideline. Of course, there are limits to this, but it's easy to let folks do their own thing so long as it's not harming themselves or other people.
can we just appreciate arcdelios consistent uploads
As a runner i confirm running is so fucking good to health more than every other sport, especially gym
A good portion aren't even talking about regular lean/bulky muscle mass, but trying to look like people who are juiced up. I ran Track myself In Junior year, never would have done cross country. That takes dedication even I don't have. Respect
