Even though I am a Rybakina fan, I have to congrats Paolini. Paolini can slug with the big girls is already impressive. Winning against one of the hardest hitters in tennis, Paolini brought hope to the smaller players.
@@PageTurners-Yashvirin this event. What about her wins from 2024 Jan-Oct--her wins against bigger players? P.S. @k0x1l I'm being nice to this guy. He missed the point. (Yes you did)
The challenge will only get bigger for Rybakina from here on in. She has missed months of action while Paolini has been playing regularly, not to mention at a high level. This was always going to be a tough ask for Rybakina. I honestly don't see her winning against Zheng and Sabalenka either. She should've skipped this altogether and just come back next season relaxed and stronger.
To all the people saying Elena should have skipped this tournament because she will likely go 0-3, I disagree. She qualified to the elite 8. She earned her place there. Even if she goes winless, she has an idea of where her game is at. Most players will take a few weeks off before heading to Australia/New Zealand around Christmas and why not get a few matches in against the best players, including the worlds No 1. She didn’t play bad against Paolini. She needs matches to get better at playing with a lead
Jasmine played good tennis. She deserved to win. Rybakina after two months out played not bad but however too many unforced errors. This is an old her issue to work on with her new coach
Glad to see Elena coming back and being competitive to one of the most in form players in 2024. She will come back to her best with more matches and fitness. Congrats to Paolini tho!
She looks competitive from the highlights, but watching the match she didn't have a chance to win this. The first set could have ended way before, Paolini was leading from start to finish, at the end (final 3 games) she raised her level and Rybakina was barely winning points.
Rybakina played VERY well for 2 months off and Paolini was as sharp as she can be to barely defeat Rybakina. With Ryba's new coach and seeming comfort on the court again, 2025 could be a MONSTER year for her. Hope so. She's wonderfull.
You clearly didn't watch the match. Paolini was up from start to finish and Rybakina didn't have chances. She made several lucky shots, she used her serve to get out of trouble, but she didn't stand a chance, really. At the end, Jasmine raised her level, she wasn't even celebrating, just being solid and Rybakina was barely winning points. From these highlights it looks like Jasmine barely won, but that's far from how the actual match went.
Paolini wins 🎾 on his debut in two sets, without getting too tired....excellent! Rybakina hadn't played for two months..... Instead Sabalenka and Zheng will be great opponents, but in tennis never say never.....the great thing is that Jas will also play doubles with Sara Errani tomorrow💥💥💥
Success despite this margin of size disparity could not happen in the men’s game but apparently anything is possible with the women. What a special player Jasmine is!
They were actually 2-2 against each other before this match and Ryba has been out for 2 months. No worries. She'll overcome Paolini again in the near future.
@ look at all her matches versus paolini everytime the ball goes deep Elena doesn’t get low enough she hitting it up in the air I’m not hating I love her
Pint size but giant power. Amazing Paolini is such a good tennis player for her size. She overcomes her bigger opponents by her speed and agility. And a lovely smile after her winning point.
I was so excited for Rybakina's match! She had several good opportunities, but it feels like she lost because she missed them. Still, Paolini's smile makes even a Rybakina's fan like me appreciate her.
Justine Henin and Patty Schyder vibes here. I miss smaller players able to challenge the big hitters with a mix resilience, tactical awareness, technical finesse and pure grit
Besides Iga, Rybakina and Paolini are my favorite. Elena has so much elegance and a powerful serve and Jasmine is so firey and active on the court. When Elena is in form I think she wins, but Paolini got the W this match, great game!!
i have my eyes on Rybakina for her simple demeanor - win or lose. When she won Wimbledon she just walked the court like just any event - without so much funfare. Her playing style reminds me of Sharapova without her outbursts on the courts. It's quite a feat for Rybakina where she is now considering she started playing tennis quite late in her teens.
I am happy to see the Queen back, seemingly healthy and confident. Cool as a cucumber😉😉 Paolini got this one, full of passion and Kamikaze attitude. I doubt though that she'll be flying as high in 2025. I feel she's at the same stage of her career as Jabeur was about one and a half years ago.
I was all about Rybakina when she broke out on tour, because she was hungry and seemed to give an honest effort to the sport, but now, I'm rooting for anybody playing against her because the money and popularity have seemingly turned her into an entitled and lazy brat, who complains more than plays tennis. So when hungrier players like Paolini beat her, and she's not able to get away with just being tall, it feels like justice has been served. 🤷♂
Rybakina making her return here for Saudi appearance 💰💰💰? Why else make a come back here to lose three straight matches against the top players who are all in top form? She hasn’t even started working with her new coach yet
Sa vazut lipsa de meciuri la Rybakina. Ea inca este in recunoastere dupa 2 luni de pauza. Sper ca din sezonul viitor sa asi intre in forma care a facut-o, o jucătoare de temut.
This shows that even though you are probably considered a greater player, you can still lose due to a lack of practice and too much time off from courts. I can’t recall the last time Rybakina played tbh.
Why did they make an almost full match highlight for Rybakina even though Paolini won? Ironic plot twist or something? Congrats Paolini, you deserved this win and a better highlight too 😅🎉
One of the best Paolini's adtitudes is almost always to have a smile on her face whether loosing or winning.😃😃😃
I totally agree. She has a joyous spirit.

Paolini is her nightmare. She can't strive against her
Congratulations Jasmine! So happy for you! 🥳
Go Jasmine! What an incredible year for her

Jasmine Paolini is one tough competitor. Much respect.
Judging by these highlights, you'd think Rybakina won the match 6-2 6-1, and that Paolini only won a handful of points. Do better.
Exactly. I thought so too
You're 100% right. This highlight is rubbish.
My thoughts too!
Same for me. Paolini won but they show onlr Ryba's points.
First set: Only 2 points won by Paolini out of 7 )
Was rooting for Rybakina. Nothing against Paolini who is very talented and having a great run this year !
She still injured

Bravo c'est mon avis
Even if she loses playing at this level will actually do her good for next season instead of sitting it out and getting more rusty.
Honestly she played better than i expected, she didn't play for months!
I'm looking forward to seeing Rybakina return to her true form. I believe she has the potential to find her rhythm again soon!
the money is a reason to play. They will be payed $$$$ even if they lose all 3 matches

The idea of a player skipping what is, grand slams apart, the biggest tournament of the year when they're in a position to play is crazy talk.
Cool Paolini really likes the way you played against Rybakina
Rybakina looked rusty. That said, Paolini is an incredible player.

Queen Elena looked comfortable on the court and healthy ❤

Paolini seems to have rybakina’s number recently. Hope they both continue to ascend!
Rybakina is not match fit rn
Jasmine played good tennis. She deserved to win. Rybakina after two months out played not bad but however too many unforced errors. This is an old her issue to work on with her new coach
Two of the most likeable players on tour
I'm rooting both but rybakina always doesn't like to run. so she generally loses against rapid players like paolini!
How to watch the WTA finals, which channels? it's not on Tennis TV and not on BeIN sports 🤐

Probably the most likeable player atm.

Jasmine Paolini also hadn’t played in about a month & she wasn’t anywhere near “as sharp as ever”. I question your knowledge on tennis

Rybakina's movement still isn't where it was at her peak. I don't know if that is lack of match play or that she' still not 100% fit.

Terrible highlights… just call it "Rybakina‘s winners“ at this point

Why does this summary show a lot of games won by Rybakina and little by the winner Paolini? Why? it's not right
Because Paolini didn’t really hit winners and just won points from Rybakina errors
