@@CookwithMel1 Thank you! I have been watching a lot of different keto channels lately, but your content has me feeling excited. I will have to report back after I try some of your recipes. ❤️❤️❤️
@@CookwithMel1 maybe we should make an experiment since I applying keto for three years I missed those elastic breads that I had eaten before I mean the conventional one 😃
Oh it's very achievable with vital wheat gluten, and there's lots of recipes out there using it but this bread one will work. Add 1/4 cup Sweetener to the dough as well ok 😊
I have honey now from a local guy near me who is a bee keeper. He has all my bees when I sold my old property and bought a smaller place, he took all of them from my place to take care of them while I move. But they liked his place so I left them with him. They are spoiled rotten now, but I get free honey 😉
Omg....so excited💃🏻, 🤫 I think I have all the ingredients (some provided by my beautiful 👼) , on hand. Now, cross🤞fingers, my yeast is still good & my pork rinds aren't BBQ! Thank you, Mel, for this recipe. It's tooooo gorgeous (yet simple😊) 😋🤤 Have a Blessed Day 🎉 PS: had to add on that post, hope you don’t mind 🤗 [will delete if you do] 🫶
Oh Aunty...I love your comments, they always bring a smile to my dial ! I'm so happy you have everything you need...I think you're going to love this bread. Oh no it's okay for you to say but I don't think it's okay for me to say HAHA!
I've made a complicated version adapted from Diedre's original recipe w VWG and flax meal - swapping in a little rye or einkorn flour to feed the yeast, too. This is a staple for my hubby w T2D as it is still very low carb per slice. I am so excited to try your version round sourdough style. (I may try kefir for the water for that sourdough taste) Thank you so much for all your effort in bringing ideas to us - I love your personal touch n giggles! Ps this format is so helpful, too! 😊❤
Oh wow thank you so much for your kind thoughts. LOL Dierdre's bread was my go-to when I started keto, that lady is amazing. I also feel this is a much simpler recipe than other keto bread recipes with VWG. Oh please do watch my old video because that one shows how to make a round loaf...only saying if you need a little help. The only other tip for a round loaf is to oil your hands when shaping the dough. Thank you 😊😊😊
Would love that recipe - big fan here of einkorn flour but it does produce a dense loaf. The combo of this with a bit of einkorn might be perfect! Mel - care to try it out for us?
@@CookwithMel1 Awww, thank you so much for a reply. I first used a small amount (2 Tbs) of rye flour in adapting Diedre's recipe before I tried an einkorn version. It turns out great, too. I always learn so much from you and just wanted to share my experience with a VWG bread. 😁🤗
I made this bread and it is quite nice. Definitely will be making it on the regular. Question though. The loaf is quite small so I was wondering if it’s possible to double the recipe to achieve a larger loaf? And if so do you know if you would double all the ingredients including the yeast? I don’t understand the science behind baking that well. Thanks again.
So happy you liked it Cynthia. Yes you can double it. You would double the ingredients yes and double the proofing time as well. Bake at the same temperature and time....then turn rotate the bread in the oven and bake for another 20 to 30 minutes. Lease check the middle of the bread to ensure its fully baked
Hi Mel. Thanks for the video. I am definitely going to make this bread. It looks delicious. Question: Are you baking the bread in a convection oven (fan forced) at 180 Celsius? Cheers.
Haha...and it toasts beautifully. Ok the pork rinds...I get mine from Costco, the brand is Local Legends and its a black 200g bag. I hope you can find it darl xoxo
@MissShell1975 you're welcome Shell. I looked online and found this at Coles: www.google.com/shopping/product/268060491672248257?hl=en&prds=oid:8753373809971840638,pid:7487608708524042969&sts=9&lsf=seller:142959337,store:7271116349379837220,s:h
@lkhalfon I used ground Pork Rinds. If that doesn't suit you please check the description box where there is a link to a similar recipe that uses almomd flour and chia seeds
When you were squeezing the bread it reminded me of my Aunt Gert she was one of those women that squeezed every kids cheek lol The bread looks really good but one thing the video wasn't clear did you say 356 temp or 350?
Finally. A unique keto bread recipe. I want try this asap!
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

Nice! Can’t wait try thia updated recipe.
I also do that yeast proofing trick of replacing 20g of water with cream to make yeast go wild.
Oh it looks so good.
Thank you MOMMA :))))
Thanks for the info Mel.
Anytime Cynthia 😊 😊 😊
After I watched your video I bake your recipe at once wow it’s taste so nice maybe this dough can bake into cinnamon rolls and bagels too ❤️
Thank you Helen...glad you liked it. I would think so...if we added sweetener cinnamon and butter and rolled it to that shape

Thank you Mom. Oh I was thinking you don't need to get honey especially...you can also use regular sugar or inulin if you have that xoxo

Looks awesome Mel. Which brands pork rinds do you use? I wanted to grab that slice from you and go toast it haha.

@@CookwithMel1 Ohh thanks Mel.
hi where did you get the gluten from :)
Vital Wheat Gluten should be available online. Perhaps Google it and your options should show 😊
@@CookwithMel1 there are so many options
Yes
Mel 😮 i can't get through what takes the place of flour in the recipe 🤔😅

Hi Mel hi Chris
Hello Mom...hugs from us both 😘😘😘

What if you don't want vital wheat
Hi Jen...it doesn't work without it, that's why I was saying we have a bread playlist and 99% of those recipes are gluten free 😊
