That bit when Kramer guzzles the beer while keeping the cigaret in his mouth, then places the lit end of the cigaret into his mouth by mistake, is pure comic genius. One of the funniest scenes ever on Seinfeld, and so much funnier than any other TV sitcom. The Kramer character ranks among the most hilarious comedy acts or personalities in history, for that matter.
@@andracat2 His talent was more than just physical comedy, but he obviously did the physical comedy with incredible creativity and skill. Another one of my favorite scenes is when Kramer is parading in only white briefs in front of Calvin Klein and the two assistants as they praise his physique and then he tries to lead against the wall with one arm outstretched and falls over in a heap.
LOL, the way he smokes and drinks at the same time - it's like something an old cartoon character would do. And I wonder where they got that sweater from. It looks like the padding that goes under wall to wall carpeting.
After reviewing the footage a few times at .25x speed, I have deduced the following: When Kramer takes the backwards cigarette out of his mouth, he grabs with index on top and THUMB on bottom. (An abnormal way to smoke, hardly noticable due to the added comedic effect.) He then starts rotating his wrist and obscuring with the left hand. Then he positions his middle finger on the bottom, removes his thumb, lowers his index, raises his middle, flipping the cigarette to the correct smoking position. Now if you're following, his middle finger is on top and index on bottom, an awkward way to hold a cigarette. So he quickly puts it into his mouth and removes his hand, all the while obscuring with the left. Brilliant. Edit: I also noticed before he start the gag he moistened his lips to reduce burn risk. Edit edit: After another view he doesnt use his thumb, he grabs normally, but subtly twists right wrist, grabs butt with left untwists wrist grabs with right now in proper position.
@Daniel Treadwell no, just not very good at managing my time. No sane person would spend a half hour repeatedly analyzing a few seconds of a Seinfeld episode.

Yeah, the combination of great writing and Richards' inspired performance make it such a classic. There's nothing like that in any lame sitcom that I can think of as even close to rivaling the best scenes in the Seinfeld series. Think of Kramer parading before Calvin Klein in his briefs, falling over as he tries to lean casually against the wall, and so many other classic Kramer performances.
Should have included the scene later where they realize that he was allergic to Kramer's sweater and Kramer sheepishly admits to taking a picture of him on the toilet, haha.
