Once you drive a 500 Abarth, you are hooked!! I should know,I've owned my 2012 Rosso Abarth for almost 2 years and 36K miles, and I'm still grinning ear to ear when I start the car up. A lot of people don't believe a small car like this could be so fast. But I've embarrassed quite a few BMW,Subaru and Honda drivers with it. Anytime you stop at a gas station, you have to be prepared to ask a lot of questions from other drivers.
2goons arefly man your lucky I had to work countless hours to get mine I mean it's worth it but I had to earn mine which adds to being proud to own it because you know you've earned it
2goons arefly not much not like the guys here on RUclips but just added the upgraded intake and added some carbon fiber to the engine put in a heat blanket and put in higher performing brakes that's it I plan to do more later on tho if my wife lets me lol
So I bought this car not to long ago. I love it every second I am driving it. The sound is the best, it handles like a dream and the inside isn't to bad as well. the warranty is great as well. Probably the best bang for your buck (btw i have beaten Mini cooper S' and Scions/Subaru FRS/BRZ 9 time out of 10.)
I bought,my abarth, 2012 model, last year, ..... And i would not trade it for any mini...... The leather red seats, turbo, 17" wheels, ponoramic roof, blue and me, boss sound syst, exhaust syst, cool noise, the price! Etc...... If you can get one, ..... Get it! Wooohoooo
Great review! One of the best on this car. I own a 2013 Abarth, and everything you say is true. In keeping with your talk on how easy the manual transmission is to use, they also have a hill holder feature you can turn on and off, so you won't worry about rolling back into the car behind you. Starting off on a steep hill is always a HUGE worry for a new manual shift driver, but it is no concern in this car.
Owner of a 14' abarth 500c for over a year now... Wish warranty was a bit longer, 2 problems (wheel bearing replaced because it was making loud humming noises, key fob wont open/close doors/trunk electronically). Service at Fiat/Chrysler in my area isn't so great and is slow (i live in Canada). Other then that, the car is really fun and I enjoy it every time I go out for a rip. It can be faster (even though the 165hp/170lbft feels decent), but this car is really customizable and the power can be bumped up a lot for a few bucks. The car always starts up without any problems, even during the cold winter months, and the transmission is solid and hasn't given me any problems yet. The interior tends to make squeaky sounds at times. Seats are comfortable for longer rides.
I heart my Abarth! Miss my Smart Passion cabrio and its awesome gas mileage, but the maintenance was killer. This Abarth, named Bart, is a trip to drive. It has decent economy, will haul in Sport mode, and is a blast to cruise around in. Thank you for a nice, honest, and fun review :-).
Nice review--one suggestion to enhance your videos. When you talk about something specific (such as the exterior styling) it would be nice if you edited in some pictures. I'm sure this would take more time to do, but it would make the review a little more well-rounded. Also, adding in other tidbits (MPG during test drive, pros/cons, how you'd rank it vs. similar vehicles, etc) is another good way of adding context. Nice job though. Keep it up!
Dude you're a great reviewer, a breath of fresh air! I know these Fiats are new to you, but find a way to drive an early 80's Fiat 131/Brava, and any US version Alfa Romeo Spider. Shifter is in the same position. As for the gauges, remember that this is a retro homage to a car that existed before the Mini ... the 1957 Fiat 500. That's where the styling for the gauges comes from. What you're missing is an understanding Fiat's history ... once you learn it, you'll love them even more!
I've had mine for a year now, and I love it. It's a bit unsettled on Brit roads, and it has the turning circle of a bus, but it turns more heads and is just as much fun to drive than the 370z it replaced. I would have another one in a heartbeat!
Cool. Adding another camera directly behind your head might be a good ideal also, so you could occasionally change the perspective so the person watching the video gets the "driver's perspective" of looking out the front window, vs. always looking at you from outside the car. Other car review channels do this and I find it effective.
I have a 2013 Abarth. I test drove the Mini first and I felt that the Mini was more solid and had more features, BUT the price out the door was around $6-8k more for the mini similarly optioned, and more importantly I much preferred the Abarth driving experience. The Abarth cloth seats are way more comfortable, the turbo engine is super responsive, the car also can cruise with great passing power at 90 on the highway like buttah! I will say I average a mere 25 mpg, but my foot is to the floor quite a bit, and of course that exhaust note, oh my! By the way you can buy a piggyback tuner that increases horsepower to 190 real proven HP for $700
I just drove one today (picking from 2014 si, focus st, fiesta st, and abarth). I must say, the fiat is almost TOO easy to drive (coming from a modified 95 civic coupe). It was so much fun though. Gorgeous sound and purposeful backfires. All refinements are performance oriented, and I LOVE IT. It is a DRIVERS CAR FOR SURE!
Great review guys! loved it! it would have been nice if you had talked about the history behind the name Abarth, but I am saying that as bonus on a great review!
leather seats are an add on I test drove one and I recommend it. to get the extra 17in wheels and the 2 tone color mirrors and leather plus convince package is around retails around 27,600 but you can get it lower around 25,500 great car for the money
Really fun car, like a go kart but with car features. I traded my motorcycle out for an Abarth and am always ripping it around corners and looking for opportunities to turbo up. Definitely fun in the city, not great for potholed or dirt roads but just look at it...
Had a Fiat 500 hybrid for 3 weeks in Scotland and got hooked on this car. Excited to have one with this kind of pep. Ours had a 6spd manual and wish the US models came with that tranny. GREAT in town and twisty road car.
The 500 Abarth does look and sound really nice. I have a Dodge Dart, with the same turbo and inter-cooled 1.4.. It does turn heads, but in a car that weights 3200 pounds, the 184 ft lb of torque gets it moving to 60 in 8 seconds,,
WarmSoftKitty,, it is an opinion.. I'm sure there are people who don't share that opinion..I don't think it's an ugly car, not best looking, but not ugly. my comment wasn't that the appearance turned heads, the sound does..it's not what you would expect it to sound.
I drive a 2006 BMW E87 120D atm which has 90.000 km's and is chipped to 170 HP. I know someone who is getting rid of his 2009 Abarth 500 Esseesse which has 60.000 km's and 165 HP. Because he's a friend he'll only charge me 9.000 euro if I buy it, it has leather interior, the same wheels that are on this one in ur video, and also the same red interior color. I'm doubting if I should sell my bmw and buy the 4 year younger Abarth, everyone says it's fast and fun, but alot of people tell me it's retardet to sell a 170 HP bmw to then get a little 160 HP fiat... Should I trade my bmw for the abarth? And will I be able to notice a diffrence in the performance? (note: my bmw is a diesel but has more HP and alot more torque), also is 9.000 euro for a 2009, 40.000 mile Abarth essesse a good price? Because he tells me it's a really good price. Thanks in advance for helping me clear my mind and make my descision easier.
Alright I exaggerated a bit...well a lot. But what I was trying to point out is that despite its glaringly low 160hp figure, it was truly awesome to drive. Yes, if I were to own one, 250-300hp might make it a little more exhilarating.
With the MM electronics you get 197hp and 205lb-ft, which would wake it up for sure...throw in a quaife LSD and it will become quite the auto cross car...drop 500lbs and it would be perfect. But plenty of weight is injury mitigation, and as a DD it is likely best that they stay in the car...
+Ben Valenzuela They probably marked them up way way over and perhaps they didn't sell as well as they'd like so now they can sell it closer to its actual value. Doesn't maintain its value...which is awesome for used car buyers..like me i'll be trading my car in june for an Abarth just waiting on one with a red paint job and base model...do not want the Cabriolet or leather seats.

Nice car you've got there! It definitely is a fun ride.
In Florida the age to drive is 16 and my dad surprised me with a 2013 fiat Abarth and I am so happy and it is seriously fun to drive and sounds great
2goons arefly spoiled
2goons arefly man your lucky I had to work countless hours to get mine I mean it's worth it but I had to earn mine which adds to being proud to own it because you know you've earned it

+leo mart i have done a couple things like a tune and an intake .. i also have done lowering springs

Thanks for the kind words!
Love this Channel! Love the reviews and Pros and Cons Segment. Ive told couple of my friends about this channel...keep it up and more review, please 😀
Just stumbled on this old review. I have a 2013 red with white and love it too!
I test drove one of these today and i am in LOVE with this thing its badass
This will be my first car I'm turning 19 soon so for a first car this car will be great can't wait
Congrats on a killer first car!
Yes absolutely. Definitely makes videos less boring when there are more angles!
I just bought one and I haven’t had a chance to drive it yet. I’m so excited!

Just came here to hear the intro because of the new video.... I love your Chanel keep it up!!!

I learned how to drive stick in on of these. I only got to drive it for one day, so I didn't get the full experience. I would love to drive it again.

Thanks for the feedback Dark0blivion! We definitely want to add in all the things you mentioned.

Glad you liked it, I was blown away!
Got the 14 focus st st3. twas the right decision.
ST Vision T'was the SMART decision. You and your logic!
I'll be getting my Abarth soon ;).
Great review guys! loved it! it would have been nice if you had talked about the history behind the name Abarth, but I am saying that as bonus on a great review!
We have a lot of Abarth 500 in Paris. And you didn't heard this car with the Abarth sport exhaust called ¨Monza¨. It's terrific.
Congratulations!
I can't tell if those are leather seats or not. Is a leather interior stock or is that an add-on? Would you recommend it if it costs extra?
I love it. Great review.
Hope you will you be reviewing the 2014 Mini Cooper S coming out this weekend?
Thanks for the suggestion! We need a mini review.
We just drove that car and its awesome!
Its like a miata only hatch.... Not super fast but extremely fun
M0ren025 oh no you didnt just compare something this ugly to a miata >>>
About to buy this next week thanks

modern contraption it's actually incredibly fun on dirt. oversteer is easy with the front biased weight and short wheel base
You still love this car Parker?
Love it love it love it
It truly is a great car!
Nice review. I would like to have seen you back up what you said about starting on a hill being easy.
Please Review the Mini Cooper S Hardtop for comparison.
Had a Fiat 500 hybrid for 3 weeks in Scotland and got hooked on this car. Excited to have one with this kind of pep. Ours had a 6spd manual and wish the US models came with that tranny. GREAT in town and twisty road car.
Do you think is more fun than a civic si?
Nice review. I own a 500c, but am considering trading to the Abarth convertible.
I made sure the sport button was activated :).
You have probable forgotten to activate the SPORT button. When enabled, it should be shown a little "sport" in the display. :-)

Love that car......
Its truly great!
it does look good, but I think I rather have a mini. Might need a test drive the abarth
We will have to test the Mini and compare the two! I've driven both, but not back to back.
Vehicle Virgins Maybe you've done the comparison by now. If so, could you post a link to your review? Thanks!
Yea this car is easy to drive, I have a fiat 500 2013 and I like it a lot. .
Congrats on the cool car!
+Vehicle Virgins planning on getting the standard 500 abarth with 135bhp but if i want i can remap it to 170bhp
The 160bhp can't shift that car to 60 n less than the early 7's but the review is excellent.
Huzzah.
I drive a 2006 BMW E87 120D atm which has 90.000 km's and is chipped to 170 HP.

Dude did you end up getting it? I'm in the same boat, I have a 176hp 2006 323i e90, not sure If i should sell it or not for an abarth
Can you maybe do a review on the Hyundai Sonata 2012 ?
hell of fun car.
How do you get the Abarth with a Ferrari badge?
Just so you know, if you search 2013 Fiat 500 Abartg, this video is the first hit. Js
Wow, awesome!
i got some rims like those ones and they are quite rare.
Bro you look so young
way to go!
couldnt agree more!
i actually dont mind driving a stick fiat!
I start hating videos where the commentator sees 90% of the video and the car only 10%.
4 Bicyclists dislike this.
I will buy fiat 500 abarth
THATS MY CAR
Great first car, lots of fun.
Jon Olaivar I just got my first car as well its a fiat Abarth I just turned 16 and I seriously love it
car also has a hill holder for the newbies..
Holy shit Parker
More power would be "horrifying"??? Seriously? It is a fun car to drive though...but could always use more power.
Alright I exaggerated a bit...well a lot. But what I was trying to point out is that despite its glaringly low 160hp figure, it was truly awesome to drive. Yes, if I were to own one, 250-300hp might make it a little more exhilarating.

Definitely want to keep in the safety components for road use. But for a track car, I'd imagine this could become one light vehicle.
Definitely let all the "by-standards" know.
They have for breakfast Italian coffee and pavesini.
why does this tiny car sound like a truck what the fuck!
I'm the 69th subscriber!!
It CAN overtake a Prius... Hahaha
onestamente non mi piace come guidi, sembri inesperto
Retro...
The car for old men and women.
Ok serious question, why are these cars so cheap now. I literally found one for 12k with 42k miles.
+Ben Valenzuela On my way to test drive and hopefully buy one tomorrow with 28k miles clean title and only 9k after my company benefits discount.
Absolutely not gorgeous but sounds like a little badass. its a girls car on steroids.
well in the US its a girls car. In europe its mabye italian!? i'm not sure but it looks like the telephone toy from toy story.
