    The pattern is really cute. Maybe you could use the leftover top to make like one of those wind chimes? I dunno that's really out there but yea. Good job lol

      I totally bought that wine because I loved the bottle design so much, lol. I'm one of those people. Sadly I already threw the top away, but I'll keep these ideas handy for next time!

      I have two in my garden I bought for five dollars each. Then I bought a bottle cutter to make my own since I loved the idea. Went cheap on the supplies. The bottle cutter was three dollars. Works okay. And bought some bottles at dollar tree because they were blue and red.still need to get the parts for the chime. They shouldn’t be too much though.

    I’ve been thinking (for years) about getting a glass cutter to do different projects & your video ignited the fire again. As far as the bottle not breaking the first time you tried it, I think you should’ve put it in the cold water first (since the bottle was at room temp). Bring the bottle in the cold water and then the hot would’ve “shocked” it. I hope you do more videos on glass cutting & try my suggestion. Have a blessed day!!! ~Pete~

      Yeah, I think I'll try cold first next time. Also, I'm glad to have ignited that fire for you to do glass projects!! :D

    Really cool design! I’ve also seen people use glass bottles to make disk top lamps in combination with a wood block. You could try that too!

    And please people, heed the advice about doing this under water or wearing a mask. Breathing in glass dust will mess up your lungs really bad! It’s seriously dangerous.

      Yeah sorry, I say(and am using) ice water in the beginning but start saying cold water halfway through. Totally my fault, sorry for the confusion.

    But seriously that bottle cutter is a bit whonky.....mine lays down and allows u to put your weight into it with much more control....still nice results

    • @chezlin
      @chezlin  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah, the ones that lay down seem to be a lot better, and are probably a better investment if you're going to do a lot of bottle cutting. However, some perks for the one I'm using in this video are that it folds up to be pretty compact, and it's also adjustable to do really large glass bottles, which could be nice if you needed that!

      2:49 she literally says it's ICE water. She just calls it cold water later. It's ice water.

      Lol, sorry for the confusion. Like Basement Art said, I do say(and it was) ice water, I just start calling it cold water later. Oops 😅
