This is great thanks Sarah! Another fascinating place to visit on our Port Macquarie trip, along with the beautiful koalas at the wonderful Koala Rescue sanctuary near Flynns Beach! Sigenergy systems and Nissan Leaf V2X, looking into this already, love it!
Informative and the use of good old home assistant is brilliant .Definitely houses of the future will need dynamic energy management such a no brainer. Good to see Essential actually confirming that V2G and EVs will only improve the network and decentralise it which will lead to better energy independence for communities.
I really like that they are running the whole thing on Home Assistant software via a tablet you can have anywhere in the house. HA is an awesome accessory to have with any smart home. And best of all, it's free and customisable.
My favourite part is the 'look' starting at 13:29... Just kidding! Thanks, interesting video. I am keen to know how the Home 13:44 Assistant operates, ie. Where is the 'brain' that runs the logic located, is it on a remote server or does it run on a local machine under the user's control? If it's remote, who owns/operates the server? I am not keen on systems that rely on an offshore server.
Thanks

A Nissan leaf is unrealistic considering where Nissan is at and where the V2G standards are going.
Unfortunately it’s the only car that’s capable right now.
