STEPS:
1. 3/4 inch bristle brush - Paint base coat on canvas with black, white, and brown
2. 3/4 inch bristle brush - Paint atmospheric dimension with white, yellow, rust, gray (made in step 1), blue, and brown
3. #2 pencil - Draw outline for peacock
4. 3/4 inch bristle and #6 round brushes -- Paint base coat for bird with blue, gray, brown and white
5. #0 round brush - Finish head with snow blue (made in step 2), white, cobalt blue, green, and gray
6. #6 round brush - Finish chest and leg with black, brown, gray, white and snow blue
7. #6 round brush - Finish neck with black, brown, snow blue, white, green and gray
8. #6 round brush - Finish wing and top part of tail feathers with black, brown, gray, white and snow blue
9. #6 round brush - Paint 1st step to tail feather eyes with blue and gray
10. #6 round brush - Finish eyes on feathers with black, blue, green, white and gray
11. #6 round brush - Finish tail feather with white, gray and brown
12. #6 round brush - Paint snow with white and gray
13. #0 round brush - Sign with white

I love watching your tutorials. I've done two of them which didn't come out bad. I wanted so badly to do this one as it's beautiful. But after 7 failed attempts I gave up. :( I just couldn't get the colors to blend (chest/wing or the "atmospheric" detail) or the lines of the feathers (back and wing) to look ok - even using different size brushes they just looked chunky. The tail feathers are only thing that came out nice.

@michellethepainter. I appreciate the motivation but having to keep throwing away canvas is heartbreaking. I tried this one 7 times. I tried to reuse canvas by sanding/gesso over failed painting but found had even more trouble. I just can't get paint colors to blend for the gradation or scallops of feathers; the paint on canvas is drying too quickly. I tried wet brush, wet canvas,lightly misting. Nothing. Using Liquitex.

I have probably commented on this video before lol but i have so many questions!! My paint does not go that far. When i dip my brush it seems to go on canvas spotty. Like i have to dip so many times and it never blends very well even with water. What am i doing wrong?
