I paired 2 together and it was loud enough at (like) 5 rather than 10 so no leveling problem. But that was a while ago. I now use Bose, JBL and Sony XB 33’s.
I have the Angle 3. From the video, it sounds like the original has crisper highs than the ultra. Can anyone confirm? My Angle 3 is modded for extra bass.

The directions that came with my Oontz ultra 3 says it's ipx7. I see different reviews saying you shouldn't get it wet, others saying you can. Some even saying it could be submerged, though that would be absolutely pointless. Maybe Oontz should chime in.

Strangely, from their site Cambridge Soundworks to CNET and others I can find the wattage and a bunch of other specs but not the drivers exact size. They seem to be 2 x 7 watts (approx. 2 in) drivers. But without exact measurements I am using my eye to guesstimate. I hope that helps, thanks for watching. Peace
The bass didn't come thru because the speakers were laying on a TOWEL. The base comes out the bottom and was killed by the towel. The speaker needs a hard surface.
Jas Holden I have the Ultra. It really depends on the song or type of music playing. Sometimes I like to put neoprene mat underneath speaker and some times a small towel. It changes the sound. The end triangle rubber caps come off and u can rotate 30degrees. That helps too. These speakers are theater quality to desktop. They are stereo. If you want them for a room over 8x8ft you need 2 in pair. Then they really jam. I wish Oontz made a pair-able 6” sub for them. It would kill. I have mine sitting on its side behind a computer 32’’ monitor. Great quality sound. Also I have tried it in my car. I have to velcro to my dash to enjoy. I’ve used outside good on hard surface or on its side. Although I am getting a larger W-king d8 40-50w speaker box for outdoors. The Oontz is for indoors.
If you're going to put a BT speaker in your car. I think two things should matter, first battery life and bass. Two of these is okay to get that stereo sound, but I have seen someone put party speakers (Soundcore, JBL, Sony, Ion, etc.) and be happy as well. Let me know what you go with, thanks for watching. Helped me out... I've dropped my Angle3+ of a few ladders at work and now somethings rattling on the inside. It still works but who knows for how long. So now I'll upgrade to the Angle3Ultra for home and keep the 3+ for work. In addition, myy Galaxy s9 will enable DUEL BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY!!!🤯🤯 OOO LA-LA!!
The flip is 16 watts while the ultra is 14 watts. The flip has a bit more battery life and comes in more variety of colors. The cost is also double the ultra. So depends on what's more important to you. I gotta that helps. Thanks for watching, peace.

i got the 4th gen ultra. hard to dislike it. works perfect. i think $40 is all the more it should be. $25 would be a sweet deal. much higher volume than that sylvania i had. good full range sound even if not exactly a bass blaster. i can see why ppl say to use an EQ. some songs can use some tweaking to get the best sound. fills a room like a larger stereo so i can see it being excellent outdoors. i think two of these would be ideal or maybe one of their biggest speakers if its equal to two of these ultras. i think ill keep it for now but ultimately for a bluetooth speaker id like something twice the volume and double the bass output for sure. it does have the usb C port. not sure about battery life but i can plug it in if need be. ill see how i like it as time goes on.

From my personal opinion, for some reason the original oontz angle 3 is louder than the ultra, i bought an ultra last may and tried both at max volume and the angle 3 blasted the ultra out of the water, even the plus(which my coworker had) i dont understand why but my angle 3 is so damn loud amd i was really disappointed with the ultra, but maybe i got a bad one, i might give it a try again, it did have better bass but i prefer loudness and clarity over bass anyday
Same here. I purchased two ultra s and the regular angle 3 is louder than either of the ultras. Both ultra s can't be bad. The only way they may be louder is hooked together and holding in my hands, which I did and they blasted but sitting down, no. The angle 3 was / is louder. A major disappointment!
I upgraded angle 3 to 3plus (same specs except battery) but I noticed Original Angle 3's sound is better and louder than 3plus. I don't have ultra so can't say a word about it.

I wasn't sure if the bass portion of the song wasn't on when the song played on the original oontz or if the bass just didn't come through. I do know each of the oontz products have bass capabilities so I wasn't sure. I definitely wasn't hearing it on the little one like I did on the plus and the ultra but as I said before I wasn't sure if the song had portions where there was no bass or it wasn't as strong. I couldn't tell because I don't know the tune. Either way, thank you the comparison was helpful.
Mac Theode, I've been debating. Have you seen or heard of their latest? Angle 3 XL and Angle 3 XL Ultra. They're getting bigger along with the price jumps though. Mac Theode , The price leap too extreme compared to the differences between the earlier models. I feel the Cambridge/Oontz company is taking advantage of the popularity in their smaller models. However they need to consider that a lot of the smaller model's popularity was because of the price for the sound.
Artem Vertetsky That's a great question, the Ultra is 14 watt while the Vava is 12 watt. The Vava has a more premium look while the Ultra blends into the background on the desk. years after they released it i am leaning toward the Angle 3 ... comparing the Angle 3 with a Doss Soundbox touch ... some say the mids and highs are better in the Soundbox touch but the bass (even the Soundbox Touch fans) is better in the Oontz Speakers
I have the original oontz angle and I see no reason to upgrade this thing rocks! I dunno man the 3 has clearer highs than the bigger brothers. May just be the video audio throws things off.
Rommel Abella The TaoTronics Pulse X is the loudest with bass but it isn’t water resistant like the Oontz Ultra. The difference between the Oontz Ultra and TaoTronics Pulse X sound is negligible but the cost is 10 bucks. Either one is great. I did a comparison video you should watch. JBL flip3 killers. Equal to upper jbl but doesn’t surround you like JBL 4 and up. Although just as clear. The Ultras are very directional speakers. So I use on their sides. So the MIT engineers know what they are doing. They are stereo. If you want them for a room over 8x8ft you need 2 in pair. Then they really jam. I wish Oontz made a pair-able 6” sub for them. It would kill. I have mine sitting on its side behind a computer 32’’ monitor. Great quality sound. Also I have tried it in my car. I have to velcro to my dash to enjoy. If the speakers are covered it sucks. I’ve used outside good on hard surface or on its side. Although I am getting a larger W-king d8 40-50w speaker box for outdoors and parties. For a party you would need 2 of these tiny speakers boxes one on either end of party to jam. I think that is the problem. The actual size of the triangle enclosure hinders the 2 high quality drivers and passive subwoofer. I’m sure Cambridge sound did multiple tests and decided on this unique triangle design for portability/style sake. With less than a 3-10% reduction in quality resonates dependent on type of music played. Wish it had an Oontz equalizer app with base boost and sound scapes. My computer sound card has SRS and 3D sound scapes which greatly help envelope the sound in my room while connected to AUX cord. For Bluetooth to work u have to disconnect AUX cord. Great speaker under $50 ducketts!

for me, when I use bluetooth on the ultra, it has an annoying volume “leveling” to it that isn’t present with aux. do you also encounter that?

The only way they may be louder is hooked together and holding in my hands, which I did and they blasted but sitting down, no. The angle 3 was / is louder. A major disappointment!
I upgraded angle 3 to 3plus (same specs except battery) but I noticed Original Angle 3's sound is better and louder than 3plus.
I don't have ultra so can't say a word about it.

I wasn't sure if the bass portion of the song wasn't on when the song played on the original oontz or if the bass just didn't come through. I do know each of the oontz products have bass capabilities so I wasn't sure. I definitely wasn't hearing it on the little one like I did on the plus and the ultra but as I said before I wasn't sure if the song had portions where there was no bass or it wasn't as strong. I couldn't tell because I don't know the tune. Either way, thank you the comparison was helpful.

Mac Theode, I've been debating. Have you seen or heard of their latest? Angle 3 XL and Angle 3 XL Ultra. They're getting bigger along with the price jumps though. Still incredible prices compared to some name brands speakers. I'm thinking I just need a little one though. Again, thank you. Great video comparison. I appreciate it. sleepwalkerZZZ I like the look of the XL but at that price point, personally I would go with Monster or JBL. Now, that is just my opinion without having heard the XL or XL Ultra. Mac Theode , The price leap too extreme compared to the differences between the earlier models. I feel the Cambridge/Oontz company is taking advantage of the popularity in their smaller models. However they need to consider that a lot of the smaller model's popularity was because of the price for the sound.

Artem Vertetsky That's a great question, the Ultra is 14 watt while the Vava is 12 watt. The Vava has a more premium look while the Ultra blends into the background on the desk. Mac Theode ok, I'm looking to buy one and I'm not sure which one I want to buy. The VAVA I thought might be more cool because of the two subs at each end, it looked like it put out a lot of bass. I don't plan to bind two speakers together, so which one do you think has better and deeper bass?

well I have the original and they all suffer from the same problem, they automatically disconnect when you are not using them for too long

years after they released it i am leaning toward the Angle 3 ... comparing the Angle 3 with a Doss Soundbox touch ... some say the mids and highs are better in the Soundbox touch but the bass (even the Soundbox Touch fans) is better in the Oontz Speakers

I have the original oontz angle and I see no reason to upgrade this thing rocks! I dunno man the 3 has clearer highs than the bigger brothers. May just be the video audio throws things off.

Rommel Abella The TaoTronics Pulse X is the loudest with bass but it isn’t water resistant like the Oontz Ultra. The difference between the Oontz Ultra and TaoTronics Pulse X sound is negligible but the cost is 10 bucks. Either one is great. I did a comparison video you should watch. Should I buy the jbl flip 4 or that ultra?
JBL flip3 killers. Equal to upper jbl but doesn’t surround you like JBL 4 and up. Although just as clear. The Ultras are very directional speakers. So I use on their sides. The end triangle rubber caps come off and u can rotate 30degrees. That helps too. These speakers are theater quality to desktop. Creative/Cambridge research labs made these speakers. So the MIT engineers know what they are doing. They are stereo. If you want them for a room over 8x8ft you need 2 in pair. Then they really jam. I wish Oontz made a pair-able 6” sub for them. It would kill. I have mine sitting on its side behind a computer 32’’ monitor. Great quality sound. Also I have tried it in my car. I have to velcro to my dash to enjoy. If the speakers are covered it sucks. I’ve used outside good on hard surface or on its side. Although I am getting a larger W-king d8 40-50w speaker box for outdoors and parties. For a party you would need 2 of these tiny speakers boxes one on either end of party to jam. I think that is the problem. The actual size of the triangle enclosure hinders the 2 high quality drivers and passive subwoofer. I’m sure Cambridge sound did multiple tests and decided on this unique triangle design for portability/style sake. With less than a 3-10% reduction in quality resonates dependent on type of music played. Wish it had an Oontz equalizer app with base boost and sound scapes. My computer sound card has SRS and 3D sound scapes which greatly help envelope the sound in my room while connected to AUX cord. For Bluetooth to work u have to disconnect AUX cord. Great speaker under $50 ducketts!
