Yelling "Outlander" in the middle of an intersection...THE intersection of the original filming...priceless vlog moment. I don't think there was a single person in that town other than you. Creepy!
That was funny. I actually live 5 miles outside of Whiting. He obviously was there on Sunday. There are a few cars on the street on weekdays. I was in high school when they were filming. Every day someone came to the school and took whatever kids they needed for extras. I was in the background of the scene out in the cornfield when they put Linda Hamilton up on the pole next to the "blueman". My brother and some friends of mine are in scenes where you can clearly see them. It was fun to watch the first time. They would be running down the street and when they turned the corner they were in another town. It was filmed right before harvest and during harvest. It was a pain for locals. BTW, I don't know of anyone who has hit the flagpole. The actor who played Malachi says he still hears people yell, "Outlander" when he's out in public.
"Children of the Corn" was one of the more disturbing horror films of the early 1980's that's a fact. It also confirms, at least to me, that some of the worst of monsters encountered in this world are far too often entirely human. I remember another disturbing movie made a few decades before "Children of the Corn" called, "The Bad Seed" about a "perfect" little girl who was actually a heartless psychopathic killer. That movie always bothered me too!
PrairieDodgers These filming locations are cool to visit! And I visited some of my favorite movie locations! But if you really want to know where it's at! Go to a Children of the Corn "horror convention"! You get to meet the director, producer, screenwriters and sometimes the whole CAST shows up! Its like Elvis fans will visit the house where he was born! But if you really want to feel part of something go to Graceland! Actors and producers and directors rarely ever go back to where they shot a film!!! Movie conventions are where it's at! They make these conventions very formal! So that you're not nervous and won't geek out LOL! The food is awesome and the conventions are affordable! And you get to watch the movie in the theater with the actors! Who knows you may be the lucky fan who gets to sit down and watch the movie with your favorite actor! So horror conventions is definitely where it's at! You can go online and check... To see where the nearest one would be held closest to where you live! Most of the time it's within 30 - 90 miles proximity!
Felt the same; I was ten or eleven years old; gave me sleep problems for a couple of weeks and also still gives me the creeps like no other horror movie, don´t know why.
Well one things for certain, they chose the right town for that movie... the ambiance is out of this world creepy, no one around for Adam to chat with about the history of this town or to even ask if they lived there when the movie was made...get a "locals" perspective on it. You know it's bad when (as just about everyone has stated) you can feel the creepiness of this town threw a video...lol. I'm like the rest of you here, "Where the heck is Everyone?". Thank You again Wooman for yet another great vlog. Take Care #AdamTheWoo and we'll see ya tomorrow, Safe travels my friend always!! (:
From Los Angeles, California to Whiting, Iowa which is a little over 1,619 miles away. You are much appreciated! Such a different neck of the woods compared to L.A.. Thank you for always sharing your experiences to the rest of us who may be too busy to enjoy your true Tom Sawyer experiences. Love your vlog videos!!!
I live an hour away from these locations and just recently went to see it all in person. Thank you for this video .....watching this made it so much easier to find everything. ✌
You make such awesome videos. I am 32 yrs old so we grew up watching a lot of similar tv shows and movies. You have brought me with you to many celebrity related locations and filming locations just pure awesomeness....... stay positive stay motivated and come back to Boston so i can meet you lol.. stay strong brother
Tampa Jay Steven King has to be one of, if not the most successful authors, to have his work adapted to the screen, and for them to become so iconic and popular. Have to admit the Shining is my favorite.
Robyn West well no one can have unlimited inspiration forever. Don't forget he was almost killed a quite a few years back and it took him years to recover. Anyway he can rest on Cujo, Misery, The Green Mile, Stand by Me, The Shawshank Redeption, IT, The Dead Zone, and of course Carrie, just to name a few favs adapted to the screen. That's way more than enough to be considered one of the greatest.
Hey Adam!! That town was creepy and deserted. I would of been so scared to go to that house by myself and look into that corn field behind the house. You had me cracking up in that town yelling the movie lines. You are so funny. Love you Adam!!
Grew up with these movies. I loved them, I live in Omaha, actually just got back from visiting the town on my motorcycle. It was pretty cool to see it for myself
Outlander!!!! Glad you got the opportunity to see some classic 80's horror nostalgia. I messed up on this on when were out that neck of the woods, I kept driving and ended up in St. Joseph, so we did Jesse James stuff instead. Not sure if I will ever be back in that part so I'm glad I got to see it through your eyes!
ThAnks for coming to my part of the country. So much of the country likes to bash us here in the heartland of the mid west but there is a lot of interesting stuff here, you just have to dig a little to find it. I hope you are on your way to the Great Iowa Fair that is happening right now in Des Moines. (The s is silent on Des Moines, ...just so you don't piss folks off) Enjoy your visit through the mid west!
AMAZING location episode bro!!!!!! Easily one of my top 5 fav flicks. I also notice a different tone when you are on the road. When you are out and about you seem so much more excited exploring things. Very child like. When you are settled in one location you are more straightforward, still amazing but that excitement of adventure is not there as much. Glad to see ya moving again regardless of how short lived it may be.
@@harleybliss6060 I know, can you imagine moving there, and living there, going about your day every day and the town looks almost exactly the same way it did back in 1984, and you had watched the movie! I think I would just want to move there for the thrill of seeing myself, literally walking in the "past", you'd literally feel like you just went back in time to 1984, and you're living in 1984, in the town of "Children of the Corn" XD
@@harleybliss6060 YEAH...ME TOO, I was laughing at that...THAT WAS SO AWESOME, I love this movie so much!!!!!!! Can you imagine the local's faces, OH MY GOD, I bet they'd think I was crazy if I yelled "OUTLANDER, OUTLANDER...OUTLANDER, all over the street, near that pole on the center of the street, walking all over...tracing the same steps some of the actors walked in 1984...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤣
Thank you for all these cool adventures, it really inspires us. We just hit 300 subscribers, so thank you for the motivation to keep climbing! Also love any filming locations you do, it's always fun
Another excellent video Adam. The off the road attractions, and filming locations are definitely my favourite. i've never seen "Children of the Corn", so I reckon it's a must to find online to watch tonight....maybe then I'll understand the "Outlaaaannnddder!!" :-)
I Love your videos about the history of a movie location. You learn alot about stuff like that when you don't get from television Bio. Thanks again for your videos.
TDW wins best actor in THE ADVENTURES OF ADAM THE WOO! Staring you guessed it the WOO in his best acting yet. Adam this is by far the best VLOG I have ever seen you do. Keep up your great work bro!
I love his new content. Came here from the his new COTC2 video today. And, I miss when he would add those goofy and silly tid bits man, like the car window for example. Good stuff lol
Great movie, used to love it when I'd catch it on tv as a kid. Funny because literally just a couple day's ago I thought to myself "Adam should go check out the Children of The Corn filming location." Then this shows up! Thanks Adam, love the channel!
You are in " my neck of the woods". My Dad worked at the Howard Johnson's in Sioux City, Ia the year they filmed. The crew of the movie stayed there while filming. He was an extra in the Whiting Church scene, but was later cut from the film.

Good ending. I thought there really was someone there. Must have been a little eerie walking into the corn behind the house.

Kind of creepy how Adam is repeating those lines and there's not a soul around. It's like everyone was hiding indoors away from Adam.

The Changeling George C. Scott That will scare the crap out of you!

Awesome! Love the attention to detail. These places are on my bucket list! 🌽🔪
yeah me too . hope we get there b4 we kick the Bucket .
Crazy how desolate the town was.... Creepy!!
+Liz Usagi it was a weird vibe
Liz Usagi, it reminded me of a visit to Salem Massachusetts. It was rather quiet the day I went.... A bad vibe.
I've gotten a bad vibe at night ever since I watched "Aliens." " They mostly come at night, mostly."
Liz Usagi The children took everyone!

jraoul711 I've always liked king too, but, I must say, his new stuff isn't nearly as good. I think he sobered up and now he's too much a "do-Gooder "
