Plenty of speed and power and I like the price point they sell for . Hopefully I get to see one at one of the upcoming logging shows this yr

@AllenFamilyFirewood Hey there! Of course price is a big factor. Buster would beat its butt though🤣

Hi Derek -:it's Big Rodders in Ireland. Vertical splitters are the standard over here and I've run my Italian Thor 8 ton vertical electrical machine for 15 years. The big difference to any American machines is the that knife is set at an angle with the tip nearest you being lower than the other end. This has a double impact - it creates greater pressure at the tip for the initial split and it draws the log away from you making it less likely to spring out towards you. I always place the log against the back upright when spitting.

@@rodneysweetnam8653 I've seen those splitters in action. The angled knife does make sense, as the splitter timing will be more subtle instead of loading up all at once. There is an electric version of this splitter, but it does move slower and I don't have electricity at my woodlot. Cheers!

I see what you’re saying as well. It’s like the multi blades on the horizontal splitters. Not “all” blades are splitting at the same time.

I was thinking that you should slide the round to your right, and then split and lay your slabs to the left, then make your bundle splits like you’ve been doing. That way, you’d be more efficient without having to move your slabs all the way across your body after the first round of splits.

@amandadavis9726 Yes, that's it! There's a small learning curve since this machine is still new to me. Thanks!
