Multiple Departments Responding, West Fort Ann Fire, Working Structure Fire, 5-31-2024

At approximately 13:50 on May 31st, West Fort Ann Fire, Fort Ann Fire, and Fort Ann EMS were dispatched to a reported structure fire on State Route 149. Arriving units encountered a working structure fire, starting from the chimney, and multiple mutual aid departments from Washington and Warren Counties were requested to the scene for manpower and shuttling water.
At timestamp 2:14 in the video, you can see South Queensbury Fire Escort a Prison Transport Bus through the scene, traveling from the Great Meadow Correctional Facility to an unknown location. The Lake George annual "Americade" event made for extremely congested traffic during this incident.

Thanks! Yeah, it's a big rig! They're getting a similar specced Rosenbauer in 2026 to replace it, and the Pierce will be put into the reserve pool.

Thanks Dave! It was Great Meadow doing a transport. Unfortunately they had to go back and forth to Buttermilk Falls road for a fill site; the Americade traffic really didn't help either.

Absolutely. It is a prison transport bus from The Great Meadow Correctional Facility, located right outside of Fort Ann, New York. They were transporting incarcerated individuals (presumably) to a different prison and got caught in traffic during the fire. Definitely was not expecting that video today... Thank you for viewing!
