  • We have a recent match from Long Hu Men Lao Si, a very formidable Kungfu master. He takes on a Muay Thai man from the Superman Muay Thai school. However, there seems to be a disagreement about how many knees are allowed in clinch. Let's see what happens and how this Kungfu Master handles the misunderstanding. Let us know what you think. Did the Muay Thai side disregard the rules or did Kungfu Master misremember? Or was it just an excuse. Leave your comments and we'll talk more martial arts! Also, how does this compare to the Buakaw vs Yanlong match?

    KF guy is actually very good, he is baiting the other guy into his distance game. His back thrust and reverse spinning kick are tight, very clean techniques. BUT I agree with you, he was eating too many leg kicks, eventhough he was penalising the other guys with punches. Personally, I rather eat leg kicks than punches to the face.

    It's funny seeing people in the comment sections say "But when they fight it looks like kickboxing." Schola gladiatoria has a video where europeans from England remark that there were Chinese martial artists, having full contact matches, with some rules, and betting in market places weekly. Kickboxing was invented in Asia, probably in different places at the same time, with varying rulesets and degrees of popularity, not just thai land or the USA. That's not me talking, but written historical documents from white people traveling there. Kickboxing was an established form of public martial arts, competitive, exhibition or challenge matches. Sometimes the loser of a match would have to close his school, or leave town. Weapons matches in the royal courts, some times to the death go back to even the earliest dynasties. All of these empty hand and armed were extreme pressure tests without protective equipment.

    @Nattapong69 6 месяцев назад +1

    Meh, you said the kung fu guy has holes in his game because he can't deal with more than one knee in the clinch. But that's not fair. He has to dump like 70% of his kung fu techniques to fight in a sport match. In a real fight, when a muay thai guy clinches, he leaves his face wide open while grabbing the back of your head. Can rip out of eyes, twist his head, hit him in his throat, everything is wide open. But obviously the kung fu guy isn't going to do that here, because he is following rules. So it's not just the muay thai guy that's being gimped by the rules. The kung fu guy is gimped more.

    • @adrianrai2726
      @adrianrai2726 6 месяцев назад

      I don’t know about the head twist.But I don’t think the kung fu guy can rip out his eyes when in a clinch because in the video when the kung fu guy is in a clinch, the Muay Thai guy is making the kung fu dudes head look a bit little down and the kung fu guy can’t see little bit and would just probably try to hit around trying to find the Muay Thai dudes eye. Plus the Muay Thai guy arms is wrap around the kung fu guy hands so it will be more hard to rip out his eyes but hitting the throat, yeah I can see that happening because the Muay Thai dude heads is up and the kung fu guys hand is near the throat when he’s in the clinch. But yeah that just what I think would happen if the kung fu is trying to eye poke and hit the Muay Thai dude in the throat when in a clinch

    • @adrianrai2726
      @adrianrai2726 6 месяцев назад

      Oh yeah also, the Muay Thai dude could just hit the back of the kung fu dudes head when in a clinch, it won’t have much power but can still do a lot of damage.

      Real fight on the street do not have any rules, anything goes, if this is the kind of fight, then i don't see how the muay thai practitioners can guarantee 100% win, it will always be 50/50. Traditional martial arts were created to fight under no rules, many certainly do not have conditioning like sport fighters do, because people that learn traditional martial arts want to end the fight as fast as possible in the rule less street fight.
      There is no sport match in modern era that allows Kung Fu practitioners to use everything they have trained, it was always limited to kickboxing rules for the majority of time, and while other than the kickboxers, the muay thai practitioners got the most advantage of this. So don't complain, just because other people can fight without using muay thai doesn't mean there's an excuse to belittle them.

    • @weirdno.1uniqueno.173
      @weirdno.1uniqueno.173 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@UnjustVerdict You have to differentiate the situation in this modern days in China vs China in the past where chaos existed everywhere. In today's world, i agree that normal sparring like those in mma will do, but you also have to understand that most people around the world that practiced TMA are or can be considered part time hobbyist, very few are hardcore like those in mma or muay thai. There were plenty of formidable fighters in China when ancient style Lei Tai matches existed, even during the late Qing to early Nationalist era, but because there were no rules and too often caused lots of casualties, this style of Lei Tai match was banned by the Nationalist government, and traditional Chinese martial arts has been in decline in China since that time. Add to the fact that people are money oriented on average and earning a living is rather easy in China today without getting yourself injured, hence hardcore practitioners are not nearly as numerous as those in the past.
      Buakaw or Saenchai or Rodtang will not be this formidable or even close to what they are now if they were born into an upper class family in term of economy. Society shaped people.
      As for me, i had actually met some very formidable ethnic Chinese that would fit into street brawler type in southeast Asia back then, these guys certainly never trained like those from muay thai or mma, but they did have plenty of fighting experiences under no rule at all, i did witness a few street fights between them and some others or some thugs, they did well in maiming their opponents, their fights that i witness ended fast with their opponents in serious injury or broken bones, but all these can only happened in messy or lawless society where money can actually buy you out of trouble. And all of them were never professional fighters in the ring, they were either small businessmen or workers of some sorts that earn normal living to support their family, they prefer to avoid troubles when necessary if possible, but when they are cornered, they fight.
      There's no need to give some excuse to belittle others just because you haven't seen those things. Martial arts styles whether it is traditional or modern are only as good as the practitioners want it to be. For hardcore, it work most of time, for part time hobbyists, it depends on their capability to defend themselves, and remember other than skills, "LUCK" plays a great role as well.
