    This is a remake of a video I did awhile back.
    The audio was very poorly edited and there was quite a bit of fluff. I really wanted the video to be as good as possible so I just decided to redo it.
    I hope you guys enjoy and this video helps you enjoy this amazing franchise. 🙏

    DMC is scratching that itch that Dark Souls gave me, which is to say it's a deep, challenging game that makes me want to come back no matter how many times I get my ass kicked until I'm the one kicking the games ass.

  • @Six3rdy
    @Six3rdy 16 дней назад +1

    So long and short, if you take the more technical route, the game rewards you HEAVILY for it.
    MOAR damage, MOAR style, MOAR options for bust-ass, MOAR skill, MOAR survivability at harder difficulties. And all that leads to MOAR orbs, which funnels right back to the start of the process. And then the whole thing repeats until you become SSSlayer, essentially.
    Also, mad respect for the come-up. You made it to the high end of the bell curve meme, and now you're the transcended dude in the hood. Congratulations on that, frfr. Unironically.

      DMC1 is a fine place to start but I started at 3, went back to 1 and still loved it
      Which is why I say either 1 or 3 are both the best place to start. I’m sure there’s a lot of people that wouldn’t vibe with dmc1 due to some clubkyness or how difficult the game can be but they might love dmc3.

    Tbh, ik I might get a bit of pushback/backlash, but DmC Devil May Cry's not a bad place to start either. It does require some amount of skill and understanding.
    I find it easier to grasp and it also plays a lot like DMC5

  • @dimhobbyist5515
    @dimhobbyist5515 Год назад +3

    I first played DMC4 damn near 10 years ago and liked it as my first introductory game. Then it kinda fell on the wayside in my life and I didn’t think about it too much. When I was younger I played the movie based Van Helsing game so I was somewhat familiar with the system. I watched the animated series, then didn’t do much else until in the past year I picked up a discount DMC5 and finally fell down the rabbit hole. I just finished DMC3 at base, no turbo, yellow mode and gunslinger for 80% of it using Spiral, E&I, Rebellion and Cerberus/Nevan. Had a wonderful time and I’m feeling super satisfied and I’m going as DMC5 Dante this Halloween. Loved your vid, but I just love Spiral and Gunslinger. Kalina Ann is fantastic for other styles but not that great for gunslinger imo, and I love non-turbo gameplay

    • @Sci-FiKai
      @Sci-FiKai  Год назад

      That’s awesome to hear man!
      For sure gunslinger, non turbo mode and yellow edition can be fun. Hell if it wasn’t the game wouldn’t have become popular when it released in the west.
      And you can for sure do cool stuff with gunslinger. It’s just not most peoples favorite style and compared to the others can be a bit under powered, ofc this vid was targeted towards what most will likely enjoy. But everyone’s different.
      DMC4 really put me off because I found Nero repetitive, with only one real weapon. More than a decade later and I picked up dmc5 and ended up dropping it about an hour in. Once again feeling pretty bored with Nero.
      Dmc3 on the other hand is what sent me down the rabbit hole and eventually playing Vergil would have me discover my favorite action game character of all time.
      Also thank you!

    While I agree 3 and 5 are the best in the series, I feel 1 is the ideal introduction to the genre, that said if they have played other action games like Bayo or Ninja Gaiden, then I could see skipping to 3 being recommendable.

    5:19 "Devil May Cry is first and foremost a melee based game"
    Me and everyone else that played DMC1 having flashbacks of grenade dodging Blades, shotgun jump-canceling Puppets, using DTed E&I to shoot Shadows to death, spamming Air Raid to kill Griffon, using nothing but a needlegun to fight enemies underwater, shooting fireballs in second phase Mundus, and that previous bullet-hell section against him... and then there's DMC2 which you can just spam E&I from start to finish... but yeah, it is a melee based franchise, if you only play DMC3 onwards lol

    @Eight thanks for this, as a person who wants to get into the franchise as a newcomer, you’re basically saying in this video, to play them as follows, DMC3, DMC1, DMC2, DMC4, DMC5?
    Just clarifying as a new player, I basically inferred that was the case from your comment in the video on starting with DMC3 as story wise it’s the earliest in the timeline set before DMC1, I could be wrong but, that is what I kind of inferred from your comment about that, I just wanted to make sure.

  • @wingusdingus9447

    I played 1 first. With the mindset it was onimusha/resident evil on steroids. Back then it basically was. 1 is almost an entirely different genre than the rest of the series. I played the original release of 3 about a year later when I found it in a resale shop. I think if you really want to get into the series you might want to pick yellow. Depends on what type of person you are. If you only play one game at a time and enjoy being forced to play better through punishment DMC 3 even in "hard" (was normal mode in my version) isn't so punishing it will make you quit. I might sound like an elitist, but I can't do elaborate combos that need jump canceling to pull off. I can't do style switching combos either. They aren't needed to beat the games. That's why I'm here. I want to learn now. 5 made it accessable enough to where I want to relearn how to play.
    I do agree start with 3. Learn to stinger, launch, air raid. The basics needed. You can beat 3 on hard without any advanced play. Keep that in mind in case you are wanting to quit because you think you need to play like that to get through it and have fun. Not many people that don't have a RUclips channel can actually play that well. 99.99% that touched the series before 5 came out could not do combo strings. It was an alien concept to normie players and RUclips was a new thing. People learning how to break 3s combat and it started getting incorporated into the game afterwards. 5 allows you to do stuff that would take months of practice in 4 at the push of a button.
    DMC is my favorite series and by internet standards I suck at it.

    I tried the very first game first - which sounded llike a good idea at the time.
    Obviously, the game is not designed to be played on keyboard - operating the menu is as nightmarish as in any console game.
    However, the main problem I noticed is that the game doesn't tell you anything about how to play it - nor does it come with a manual that would do so. I played through the first mission, and didn't even see any combos or anything beyond just hitting enemies repeatedly until they die.

    • @Sci-FiKai
      @Sci-FiKai  6 месяцев назад +3

      Might be because it’s a product of a time where games came with physical manuals. Many games back then still had built in tutorials ofc but some solely relied on physcial
      Which is insane lol. Unfortunately now it just leads to people being confused because the game tells them nothing or having to guess/look things up

      @@Sci-FiKai As someone starting videogames in year 2000, I never knew about that - in genres I preferred (for instance, turn-based strategies), even games from 1997 had inbuilt tutorials.
      The most recent game I played that had a manual, was Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - insane for a game released in 2013. (the manual was rather useless, and only covered controls and most barebones understanding of mechanics - and only for controller)
