    • @trevdyer173
      @trevdyer173 4 года назад +2

      Combat wombats are drop bears that have dropped and adapted to the ground...... plus side the big plate that covers their butt slows them down. But they are like a mini ankle busting boulder that is only good for short distant bursts.
      ** edit Oh yer I forgot to mention their teeth and claws

    hi mate
    I was out deer hunting recently and I came across a small seasonal creek that had all the right signs of a gold producing area. It had broken bed rock, a mixture of sized rocks (jagged and river warn), large amounts of quartz and large shelves of visible bedrock. what really caught my eye at first was that approx 30 meters from this creek was 2 vertical mine shafts and multiple working from the old timers back in the mid 1800's. Thanks to you for creating the videos on how to look for signs of gold because they really helped me study the creek and look for the right things. I am soon going back out there with a pan and homemade sluice to see if i can find some beautiful Victorian gold

    Congrats on the 50k mate well done. I would guess your pile is waste rock from blasting still can have some good stuff left behind in it. The good ore from small mines was usually taken to a government run stamp mill or a bigger mine that would do small batches for others. Stamp mill waste is like a pile of red beach sand. Lucky it was only a Wombat and not a yowie lol. Cheers for the hunt it was a great watch Steve.

    Looks like you found a tailings pile from a PORTABLE STAMP MILL and are probably finding pieces of the stamp (the metal bits) the top of the tailings pile would be the end of the run but if you could get to the middle where the gold was flowing you may get more also the cross timber you saw was a stall that kept the head wall from collapsing on the footwell when they removed the material between them

    Hi Chris, congratulations on your subscriber count. You've come a long way with your excellent videos.
    The mullock heap would be where is the miner's hand sorted the ore out of the mine, dollied and processed. As you mentioned no good processing waste rock.
    Those bits of copper/lead may be amalgam.
    Those bloody wombats have it easy since the gold rush days, pre built homes, the adit's are big and spacious with no digging required, the vertical shafts are a different story,with there non return policy.
    The mine we've got here in Bendigo runs on average three ounces per ton hand sorted, so that's just the quartz on the contact zone where the fault cuts through the ore body.
    The mines is up for sale at the moment as I'm too broken to work it any more after having four operations in twelve months, if you could change your subscribers into dollars thats about what we're asking for it.
    No wombats, just possums, frogs and the odd snake, gotta love mining. Cheers Craig 🍻⛏️
