Zimmerman deserves it the most. He stuck with the Nationals through it all, the worst of seasons, the playoff chokes, but now, he's finally a World Series champ.
Zimmerman was the face of the Nationals throughout the 2000s as their first draft pick and their first star since Vlad left for Anaheim, but he didn't do much in the series because he's washed up. The way I see it, A.J. Hinch needs to be fired immediately. He's a complete idiot. I'm a Mets fan and I'm glad the Nationals won considering how much they sucked as the Expos and through their first 5+ years in Washington, but it really feels like the Astros lost the series more than the Nats won it. Having Chirinos bunt when he looks like he has no skill at handling the bat, not putting in Cole in the 7th and then having Osuna close the game. He just went with mediocre relievers because "they hadn't given up runs or were hot", well there's this thing called the law of averages. A chameleon will always show his true colors eventually. Unless Gerrit Cole refused to enter the game because of some internal conflict and his pending free agency, there was no reason why he shouldn't have been in there. He arguably should have been starting the game on short rest with all of the good pitchers for Houston on deck to pitch 2-3 innings throughout Game 7.
He does well to represent the University of Virginia! Wahoo-wa, Go Nats, HTTR.

Even though I'm a Mariners fan, and the M's are now the only team in MLB without a pennant, I agree. I wanted the Nats to win the World Series once they made it. Knowing about the sign stealing scandal now, and seeing as the Astros are M's division rivals, I love it!

@NO PATS JIM......hardly anyone believes that. The Astros owner doesn't think the sign stealing helped his team win in 2017, why would they stop? They are the types who would look for a stealthier way to get it done rather than quit.

@@JoeCool9690S reminds me of Karl Alzner when he left the Capitals to sign with the Montreal Canadiens saying that he's tired of his team constantly getting eliminated in the 2nd round. The next season the Capitals win the Stanley Cup, Alzner is stuck in the AHL and he is a very bitter person.

As a Vegas fan, I hate Washington so badly. Almost as bad as I hate Winnipeg and San Jose.
Zenigundam So Will Harris is one of the best relievers in baseball. Roberto Osuna is one of the best closers in baseball. Gerrit Cole has zero experience coming out of the bullpen. AJ Hinch isn’t an idiot, and you are very uneducated about this. Zach Greinke pitches amazing this first 6 innings, and while hinch could have left him out there if you’re going to replace Greinke.You go with Harris, that is just wrong to say he was replaced with a ‘mediocre’ reliever.
Zenigundam that’s some grade a butthurt you got there come on. Cole was going to come into a fresh 8th inning to close us out. Yeah, in hindsight you probably leave Greinke in but Harris hadn’t given up a run the entire playoffs until last night against Rendon. Rendon was arguably the best hitter this year and did you see his stats they showed from 7th inning on in Nats elimination games this year? It was all walks, doubles and home runs until that fly out in the 8th so it’s not like he’s some scrub. Kendrick won us game 5 against the Dodgers, won the NLCS MVP and won game 7 of the World Series. Kendrick over the last 3 seasons has hit like .350 but since the Nats are national league he’s isn’t an everyday player so not many people talk about that. It’s not like he’s some scrub either. Harris got beat by great hitters that stepped up. Cole has never thrown in relief so they wanted to give him a clean inning. The call to pull Greinke looks terrible now because they lost but at the time it was a reasonable move.

Washington, I know as division rivals that the Mets and Nats don't get along too well. But as a baseball fan who went to ball games in Olympic Stadium and watched the Montreal Expos fall apart, watched as a team with only Ryan Zimmerman and a cast of alsorans stumbled around in the late 2000's, and was shocked by the seven year run where you were expected to run away with the League each year and came up empty every single time, I want to congratulate you for silencing your doubters and stunning not only the Astros, but Milwaukee, St Louis, and the Dodgers in one month. You guys played with a fiery passion I haven't seen an MLB Championship team have since the 2011 Cardinals or the 2004 Red Sox. You won not with a team of Superstars and MVPs, but your own carefully crafted team of homegrown players and a few mercenaries from other teams like Scherzer and Corbin. You took down the goliath that flattened the Yankees and seemed invincible all year long. You told the Diva Bryce Harper to get lost and swim around in piles of money in Philadelphia and played out your season the way that only true champions can. You won not only for the people of Washington DC, who have likely never seen either incarnation of the Senators win a championship, but for the people of Montreal, who dealt with the same crushed dreams and heartbreak you all did and have no team to cheer for. I haven't actively rooted for a team in the World Series since the Royals trounced my Metsies in 2015, but you guys gave me something that's rarely seen: passion. You won on sheer determination and outmaneuvering a goliath in the game and made many celebrate without even wearing Nats caps like you.
