I got the Atomos Shinobi monitor. Much cheaper - same form factor but no SSD recorder. I also use the Saramonic 2 lav microphone system with one receiver. Cheaper and high quality but gives you more flexibility
Dude I just got an anton bauer titan base instead of vmount because I wanted to keep it compact and fit a whole caged rig in my bag. I love your honesty about the ninja v being overkill! I believe my m1 mbp would do just fine editing internal recordings. thanks for the video! Highly recommend creator's university!
love this, i'm a recently new subscriber of yours. I'm a little behind you in terms of gear set up so this is perfect to see where you're at and decisions you're making gear-wise because everything you're talking about I'm right around the corner for. I hate when people think I'm a photographer at a wedding lol. I currently just have a Small HD monitor and a shotgun mic which definitely increases my perceived value, but yours looks way better. And I'm starting to do more client work too so I'm looking into Rode go2 as well. Keep posting videos like this, it's so helpful!
Yea that’s a tough choice! If you are shooting only video, definitely get the fx3. Has a few more useful features. If you need a hybrid the a7siii is also great 👍
Ha legitness. I get it lol. Everyone always says are you photographer... People don't want videographers to have lightweight rig... XD Though if you think about stabilization that isn't complete lie - heavier rig, nicer handheld. Btw of course always turn off viewfinder haha :D it was the first thing I did to make switchable Also imo sony a7s iii is better not only for photo but also for having viewfinder AND how universal the body is - if one ever want to buy sony A7IV or sony A7SIV or something in the future you can easily hotswap cameras without rearranging or rebuying everything
I had the same dust problem & I found a video on youtube on how to take the lens apart and clean it. Its super easy to do! Here's the video: ruclips.net/video/ogA1YFlsCeY/видео.html
@@ConnorRickey I was a little nervous to try at first, but I've cleaned my lens out 3 times already and its real easy to do now. Watch the full video once or twice before trying & you'll be a little more comfortable
I believe the fixed the dust problem on the newer lenses.

Nice! Those are cool. They seem to fit well especially with the Blackmagic setups. And dude, you're too kind! :)

ok i just followed you on IG, and I'm more than a little behind you in terms of gear 😂 nonetheless I'm learning a lot from you haha
@@billem16 Welcome, friend! Glad you’re getting value out of everything! Appreciate you hanging around 😁
@@billem16 Love your golden retriever by the way! My girlfriend and I are getting one soon 😁
Look into getting smallrig's push button rotating nato handle, it's a game changer
I’ve been thinking about adding that! Good call 👌
@@ConnorRickey I just bought it last week. It’s friggin AWESOME!!! More flexibility and low angle possibilities!
Dope rig bro! I've been thinking about getting an A7SIII or an FX3 which I understand is pretty much the same camera.

@@ConnorRickey Bet! I don’t need a hybrid so I’ll go FX3. Thanks, brother.
So am I going to have dust issues if I abuse the newer revisions of that sigma because I don't have money for GM Sony 24-70..
There is a video on youtube on how to take the lens apart and clean it. It is very easy. Kinda scary at first, but super easy!
That dust spot looks like its on the sensor not the lens. Do a test at f16 and if the mark is more prominent then its on the sensor.
It's in the lens unfortunately. I can take the lens off and see it

Whoa! Thanks for sharing! It still looks scary to do though! But I may just have to...
