Hello, yes I'm planning on doing a piston port swap for this engine. Not because I need to but for the fun of it. Once the Phantom top end takes a crap I'm gonna try sandwiching a 54mm MS460 jug in there. That would be nice. Thanks for your comment.
I believe the carb comes with a 75 jet which starves it up top. I'm on a 85 in NYC, feels great and serves my purpose I rarely go open wide throttle as the traffic/streets don't permit me to get up that fast... But Yea, upjet that bofeng, 2nd to bottom clip on needle was my sweet spot also🤝🏼
Thank you for commenting. The cold and rainy weather fot the last month didn't permit me riding. My exhaust started leaking a lot worse since then. It's gonna need some work.

@@lovebbqnoles367 Honestly most the cheap 50cc china dolls are all the same. Must look over the ports & make sure you get them piston rings on the correct, adjusting the carb is all done once she's fired up, good luck sir & my apologies for the late response
Looks good I don't know what version it is but they've been having a lot of issues with them engines something about the wrest pin bearing don't know exactly but good luck with yours ride safe
@@Matthew-wj8cm cool I hope it lasts a long time for you I was going to get one of them phantoms but that was v2 and thay were still having lots of issues so I purchased a minaralli hybrid s##t out of the skillet and into the frying pan that sucker was all messed up it took lots of love and asking a lot of questions to get it fixed halfway decent my next one I think will be a stihl cylinder build I've even heard of someone putting that on there phantom like v1 anyway good luck it looks awesome ride safe
I have the phantom 85 V3 and it's running great! You should install a g2 reed valve and a pwk carb! You will get a lot more power outta it and if you can find someone or pay a garage to make you a good expansion chamber exhaust it really opens it up and I have a lot of experience on motorized bikes and it's definitely the fastest and I've had other engines with every performance part they make and they still weren't faster than the phantom 85
I built one with my friend. But he was reving the phantom too high so he zadřel it... He bought a new piston set so it's all good now. This time he has to break it in more carefully. I have a yd 100 on my bike and that's like the top reliable kit id say. It has a little less power than the phantom but still crazy for a bicycle. I moded the pipe so it sounds better and somehow it has more power than with the stock one. I recomend carefull break in with the phantom 85. One guy went 80 km/h on it so no wonder he zadřel.
Díky za komentář. Zadřít=seize jestli tím kdo zadřel při 80ti Jakuba Taubera tak ten to zadřel přehřátím a rozsypalo se mu ložisko. Phantom není motor který můžeš honit plný plyn minuty, nechat chladit často je klíčové.
@@Matthew-wj8cm je divné že ten phantom má tak malé chlazení. Nejmenší ze všech motorů a to má největší obsah. Říkal jsem si hned od začátku že to bude problém.

Get a standard 66(80cc) engine. Those are the Best Bang for your buck. Cheap parts too. Once you get more experience, a YD100 engine is a great one. Love that one. Phantom 85 is just a bit of a headache for newbies like me.
1996 ish Catalina Superior. Czech brand of bicycles. I love the frame myself but coming from somenone else is nice. Thank you. The handlebars are from a kick scooter of some kind. I like the stance.
No doubt, I'm just too lazy to do anything and too broke to buy anything at this point. It has developed some scratches on the exhaust side from heat I suppose. It's still running strong though.
If you push the motor A LOT, run it 40-1, and don't do break in AS STRICT AS POSSIBLE, it'll blow in maybe a month, I've had mine for a month or two and she looks and rides flawlessly
@@fabianse So what are you saying I should do? I already pushed it pretty hard on a 44, going about 60 kph. I looked into the cylinder the other day and there are many minor scratches. You see them but can't feel them.
I didn't feel like I needed to. The engine pulls just fine although a little obnoxious at cruising speeds yes. I'm keeping it stock for as long as I need to. Thank you for the comment
You do know the motor is a two-stroke two-stroke engine so you have to put oil in the gasoline mix like a weed eater or something reason the crankcase doesn't hold oil probably because it'll cost too much to manufacture and be reliable and cheaper just to have a two-stroke model engine. Plus on a smaller engine you will need valves this makes it more efficient when it comes to smaller engines being two stroke
Umm, yeah I know it's a two stroke. I feel like I'm doing something wrong since none of my cylinders lasted more than 2 years. I'm running 30ml per liter of oil in all my machines.

Z mojí zkušenosti s policií není problém. Nikdy mě nestavěli. Jakmile máš velikost motoru vyznačenou na motoru, není problém to uhrát. K některým kitům dostaneš i kartičku, kterou si můžeš vyplnit a předložit kontrole. Doufám, že jsem pomohl. Jinak přeji ať se daří. Naše hobby je fajn

I recently put the engine on a frame with a 36t. It was faster (65 km/h vs 55 km/h with 44) but not what I hoped to achieve. The pedal threads got messed up on that frame so I can't ride it now.

Zdravím, mě zatím drží. Nechápu jenom jak někteří američani na těch Phantomech jedou 85+ km/h. Můj dá 63 na 36z rozetě a moc se mu to nelíbí. No asi mých 108 kg bude příčinou, kdo ví. Asi potom dám větší karburátor a zkusím najít výfuk a uvidíme.

@@frantisekskudrna9232 no, ja bych chtěl aspoň 80 z toho. Hoši s Minarelli válcema daj 80 vpoho a já bych jim chtěl stačit. Jinak ten můj není první. První motor měl díru ve válci a tak jsem ho reklamoval. Taky mám standartní 66/80 motor a to je velice pomalá věc, 40 km/h. Ten, co jsem měl předtím dal 55, po mírných úpravách časování. Chtěl bych taky zkusit 4 takt ale to je budoucnost
@@frantisekskudrna9232 najeto mám okolo 400 km, nešetřím ho. Zajížděl jsem jednu nádrž. Držím mix 1:25 a překvapivě skoro vůbec nekouří. Držel bych se silnějšího mixu, není to motorová pila abychom jeli 1:50, to bych to hned přidřel

Já jich mam taky par, klasickou chinadoll 66/88 s lepsi hlavou, ale jak rikas nic moc se od toho neda cekat, a pak jsem zkousel ten dioreed ale uplne nevim jestli tam citim nejakej posun dal. Hele sehnal jsem za dobry penize 4T dal jsem ho na kolo, jeste musim vyresit zadni pohon protoze tu gumu tam fakt nechci a klidně můžu dát echo jestli to stojí za to ;)
buddy not to be a boomer but, how can you not be impressed when you have chain slack and running without exhaust gasket?! to be fair your review is pointless because the bike wasn’t properly built and tuned.
@@Matthew-wj8cm once you get the tension right weld the bracket to the frame, do not drill a hole because it will compromise the structural integrity. all that vibration will mess your tension really fast unless it’s welded. you seem like a cool dude, just need some research and you will do fine.

change the plug, put a chainsaw plug and itta run almost twice as fast even know it's shorter my 80 barely runs 30 with stock plug but hits over 50 with chsinsaw plug
This is the ultimate version of the russian D engines. It has 52mm bore, 40mm stroke (85 ccm displacement) and about 3 hp. I love it. It still runs strong. Thank you for commenting

As a child, I took my grandfather for a ride on a bicycle with such an early series engine. I think that initially it’s not sad to admit this for me personally since I come from the USSR, but it seems to me that if we look deeper into history we will understand that perhaps this is a copy of some ancient German internal combustion engine. although the USSR had many of its own good developments, and in fact among internal combustion engines as well. but basically they were all intended for military equipment, which to this day, unfortunately, is killing residents of the former USSR... somehow I’m in the wrong direction. It’s a pity that there are problems with mail between our countries, I wish I could send you an amazing carburetor that was once made at the NAMI Institute... for the sports version of the bicycle engine.

This is the version 3, ZMN100 rod stamp, 12mm needle bearing. Once she blows I'm putting a MS380 jug on it. So far she goes

I run 35:1 there about. I think it's a good amount. The motor isn't on this bike anymore, check my newer videos.

So far, about 20 km or 12,5 miles. I got the engine but left it in a box for a few months.

It really depends, I run it richer than my other engines, and I was also extremely extremely strict during break in

so the phantoms dont have the purple reaper decal on the motor? theres like 4 diff engines and look the same.
They do, but on the clutch side, not the magneto side.

Why couldn’t you use the stock muffler?
This is the stock muffler. The Phantom 85 engine does have a little different pipe thsn the rest.
