Ms. Gayatri is an outstanding artiste with so much vidwatam in so many areas. She was the perfect musician to execute this masterful performance. Namaskaram
An enjoyable & absorbing fare by vidushi gAyatri prasanna & team 👍 A challenging & distinctive theme - "carnatic music down the centuries" - it's an ocean & we were wondering how the team is going to do fair justice. (What to choose and what to leave 🤔) But with the able direction of the veteran & versatile vidwan Sri RKS, who has tuned a few, the team did acquit itself creditably. 👏 The vidushi, with a gifted voice, vast repertoire & good manodharma chose the right rAgas /sAhityams and presented them in a melodic manner & with bhakti bhAvam. Starting (in the chronological order - from BC to AD) with tholkAppiyam in YK, she followed up with silappadikAram (vadavaraiyai - HN, khamAs, hindOlam, SK, paraju & kApi) a tEvAram by sundarar in MMG (pitthA piraisoodi) AndAL's tiruppAvai in varALi (aazhi mazhai) a purandaradAsar geetham in malahari (padumanAbha)a dEvarnAma padam in sArangA (sharanu venkataramaNA by purandaradAsar) a jayadevar's ashtapadi in mukhAri (priyE chArusheelE) annamaya kriti BS & MMG (entha mAtramuna) a kshEtrayya padam in gowlipantu) dhanyAsi (raama daya joodavE by Bhadrachalam rAmadAsar) - "then coming into the typical cutchery format" - a varnam bhairavi (viribOni by pachimiriyam adiyappa) todi (rAvE himagiri a swarajati by syama sastry) sankarAbharanam (swararAga sudhA , wherein the saint states that bhakti with music gives liberation) dwijAvanti (chEtasri by MSD on mannArgudi perumAL) vasantha (paramapurusha by swAti tirunAL) a jAvaLi in khamas (marubAri talelEnurA by dharmapuri subbaraya iyer)a tillAna by senior vidushi suguna purushothaman & concluding with SB (apAra karunA sindhum by vidwan RKS) Wonderful✨ The violin support by vidwan RKS, (apart from structuring the concert) was just superb. The percussion support by vidwan delhi sairam (mridangam) and vidwan s.krishna (ghatam) was wholesome and added beauty to the concert. 👍👍 Thanks to nAdainbam & Smt Jaya balakrishnan for bringing it live 🙏

A tough one and the whole team excelled. superb. Only disappointment was OVK composition didn't find a place linking the pre - trinity to post - trinity period. RKS ingenious virtuoso and such a humble man🙏🙏🙏
OVK is a great vagyakara as you said between pre and post trinity period and also a composer in the languages Sanskrit and Tamil . Missed his great compositions. Actually could not sing all the composers songs may be mentioned their names. Otherwise a great effort covered from Geetham , varnam to Padam , Javali hats off to Gayatri and her team. RKS he himself a great musician and composer. 🙏🙏
Excellent concert. Only regret, no krithi of the Tamizh Moovar.., Gopalakrishna Bharati and Bharatiyar. 21/2 hoursare insufficient to do justice to all the great composers.
