Agreed. I certainly don't agree with everything he's said and done. But I thoroughly enjoy these and his recent book Burke's Law.
SN needs to do a better job of promoting these. These short clips are amazing. Burkie is a great storyteller.

Burkie is the good type of old-school.
I still don't necessarily like him, but I would love to sit down and ask him questions. He's honest, and never seems to be trying to make himself look good.
The fact that he respects Bettman makes me wonder if I have fallen into the Canadian hatred of having an American run the league. The League President's nationality is irrelevant, so long as the person loves the sport.

The farm team was actually in Fredericton. Vancouver shared with the Nordiques. The FE logo literally means Fredericton Express. I know it was years ago and Burkie just threw it out there by mistake probably.

You don't use the alias to check in, only for incoming calls. It'like having a password to contact you in your room.
I love these stories, you wont hear stories like these ever again the league is way too corporate now.

Burke is senile. Vancouver Canucks AHL affiliate at the time was Fredericton Express in New Brunswick....and not Quebec City. Shows you how Marek didn't know the difference either.
Good catch. I researched this and confirmed it. I also searched up Quebec City's AHL and they didn't have an AHL team during that period and at no point did Vancouver ever have a farm team in Quebec. Fredericton and Quebec City are not remotely similar to each other or even close to each other.
@@NigelMK I guess Sportsnet doesn't use fact checkers. Not sure why Burke thinks the Canucks farm club was in QC. Marek...well he is just a bantam house league geek who should not be talking about hockey on TV.
