What do I do if the display resolution for my monitor isn't an option on the drop down menu? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Bro at that moment from your steam library, right click on the game, & click on properties. Now from properties > General Tab, check out that there's a place called 'Set Launch Options'. Now let's assume your screen resolution is 1280x800, since I don't know your display resolution. Go there & type the following command:
-w 1280 -h 800
After that, click on the cross icon to close the window. And now launch the game. This will force the game to play at a particular resolution. However, this does not work in every games, but still it's a way for the issue! 😊 ♥️

Bro first launch the Sonic Generations Configurations. Then only you can find that config file!
I’m having the same issue I launched the configuration but the file is not there
Bro go to the search bar of the Windows Explorer and type the name of the file and locate the file from there.

Bro, make sure Microsoft C++ Redistributables, mainly 2010 (both 32 & 64 bit) are installed. If not then you need to install them first from Microsoft's official website. Then go to windows update to verify that everything is updated and then restart your PC and launch the game.

Bro actually that config files deletes the entire saved in game settings. So deleting it resets the game booting process which helps the game to resolve that error. 😊 ♥️

i can't get the game to work, i've tried many ways but somehow nothing works, i've deleted and created new cfg, i've ran the config tool as an administrator, installed a mod that supposedly fixes the error, installed different config tools, tweaked the resolution on my laptop, checked reddit, steam and any forum i could find but nothing helps, i hope that you read this comment and help me with this, i'm honestly desperate

When I open the configuration tool it says no compatible graphics adapter found under the graphics configuration tab. This is a new issue I’m having and before I was able to run the game just fine.
Bro this error message occurs after opening the game without opening the Sonic Generations Configuration Tool for the first time. Since it is occurring in the Configuration Tool then you need to update the graphics driver to the latest version. Also make sure to change the graphics settings & other settings from the tool.

I have a way major problem with mine. whenever i try loading the game, it has tons of issues. i did all the possible solutions to fix it, and nothing worked. i then went into my game files to find out, i'm missing the audio and graphics configuration files. i redownloaded the game multiple times, and nothing worked. do you by chance have a fix for this?

How do I get to the graphic configuration? I keep pressing play and it gives me the error but no way to get to configs
Bro from your Steam Library, go to Sonic Generations. Right-click on the game, go to Properties, and from the General Tab, go to Launch Option and make sure that it is set to "Ask when starting game" and then launch the game and choose SonicGenerationsConfigurationTool.
Thanks. Now that I've figured that out, I'll have to figure out how to install HedgeModManager... The only thing I've found regarding that and the Steam Deck is a mod for Frontier. I'm gonna try to follow that while changing steps when necessary.

@@GoofyPoptart I got it set up through Bottles, though Lutris might be easier. Thankfully, there are actually ways to get it to work. Though, I wish Sega would just fix it themselves.
@Goofy pop tart Bro I have just seen some videos, & yes it works on Steam Deck. Unfortunately Steam Deck is not officially available in my region, so I can't test games & other gaming related stuff with it!
But yes Bro, in case it doesn't work, then you can refund the game within 2 weeks from the date of purchase. Also the gameplay time should not cross 2 hours according to Steam Refund Policy.
Edit: Steam will refund the full amount to your Steam Wallet if you use any payment method other than Visa or Mastercard.

Okay Sister, I think that you're using a keyboard to play the game. I used to play the game with a keyboard before I bought my gamepad. I had to manually map the keyboard buttons with the controller scheme from the controls option in Sonic Generations Configuration Tool!
If I remember, then I set the Q & E Buttons for LB & RB respectively, Space for the A Button and so on.
Actually the game will still show the XBOX Controller layout no matter what! So you need to remember the keyboard buttons which you have mapped to play the game.
P.S.- There are several mods to fix the issue. But I don't recommend that since it could bring malicious files too with it!

@@VendableCave the same error as the one in the video bro, but one thing was different for my game, and that was that the configuration tool looked different. After I watched some other videos I saw that a mod called generationsconfigfix was there and I enabled it through hedgemodmanager but it just changed the configuration tool to look like the one in the video, but it didn't fix my issue... Sorry for now responding sooner, and thanks for noticing!
Bro probably one or multiple dll files of the mods might be interrupting the process.
I would suggest you to uninstall both the game and the mods first & then reinstall the games and launch it without mods first. Then it will fix the issue totally.

Yep! Bro, go to your Steam Library and right click on Sonic Generations. Right click on the game and go to Properties. Now go to the Installed Files option and click on Verify Game Files.
Wait for the verification to complete and launch the game again.
Also Brother, after going to the Properties, go to General Tab and set Launch Options to Always Ask Before Launch.
Then after hitting the Green highlighted Play button, choose SonicGenerationsConfigurationTool and it will open the settings of the game.

Bro from your Steam Library, click on Sonic Generations game and go to its properties. Then from the Update Installed Files option, click on Verify Game Integrity. Then wait for it to become 100% and after that go to the Generals Section and set Launch Options to Ask Before Launch. Now hit the green play button.

Bro maybe the on-board iGPU is disabled. You can check that from device manager section of Windows. However, you will not face any issue if it is disabled! You can skip that part & do the necessary things accordingly! 😊 ♥️ ✌️
Edit: You can also try to uninstall and reinstall the game, and make sure to check the graphics drivers, and Windows are updated to the latest verison!
