This is a wonderful interview and interaction between the two men. I had no idea Alec Baldwin was a music afficianado.. Lang Lang as engaging as ever.

Lang Lang studied at Curtis Institute of Music in Philly, my home town. Curtis has a mere 2% acceptance and Lang Lang was accepted and moved with his father from China.

Great interview, for both Lang Lang and Baldwin! It really allowed us to peek into the mind and story of a great artist, and thanks to Baldwin for his incredible interview talent that brought the artist to pour out his true feeling and intimate experience. Lang Lang made a number of gem comments that are very refreshing. Everything of the interview just feels natural and fun.

The great pianist and the great actor, two great artists, bring the world together, at a time of fragmentation and distrust.

Myore young artists have come onto the music scene. I am not so sure Lang Lang may lose some of his shine with his injuries at risk of reappearing. Wish him well. He is a great pianist and a great man.

Please read the book Talks with the Great Composers. He interviewed back in the day many of them including Beethoven's first violinist. And he said he told Beethoven that one composition is impossible to play and Beethoven told him God himself gave this to me you can learn to play it. Why tears? It touches our soul. God is talking to us through this beautiful music. He is all beauty, all love, all compassion. All the composers in the book talked about sitting down in their best suits and just waiting then the music came. It was a a sacred experience for them. Mozart just saw it and wrote it down. It comes from God, Whether you believe or not doesn't matter, it still touches you at the deepest level. And your deepest level is your soul.
