    for Confidence Interval = 80 , Answer ----decision boundary between -1.311 and + 1.311, t-score= 10.96 therefore we reject null hypothesis

    Mue = 100
    X = 140
    n = 30
    CI = 80%
    Sample standard deviation s = 20
    1. Hypothesis
    H0 : Mue equal to 100,
    H1 : Mue not equal to 100
    2. Let's find significance value alfa,
    alfa = 1-CI
    alfa= 1-0.8
    alfa = 0.2 or 20%
    3. Let's find decision boundary, as it's two tailed test,
    Alfa = 0.2
    And degree of Freedom = n-1 = 30-1 = 29
    So, For Alfa = 0.2 and Dof = 29 the Decision boundary from T able is +-1.311
    Decision Rule : If T-test value is less than -1.311 or greater than +1.311 then we reject the null hypothesis.
    4. Now calculate T test value
    T = X-mue/s/under root n
    T = 10.95
    5. Conclusion : As t-test value 10.95 is greater than 1.311, We reject the null hypothesis which means that medication gives us positive impact and helps to gain intelligence.

    range is from -1.311 to 1.311 , t = 10.96 hence we reject the null hypothesis and the result of medicine is +ve on the people.

    T table value = 1.311
    and our T test calculated value remains as it is 10.96..
    T test calculated value > t table value so reject the null hypothesis and this medicine increase the IQ people..

    according to me if C.I. = 80% then our conclusion Reject Null Hypothesis. (t value=10.96) which is greater than boundary value i.e , +1.311

    the standard deviation given was for the sample not for the population so we could have directly used it instead of dividing it by sqrt(n). Can anyone please explain??

    I have a question: Why are we rejecting the Null hypothesis? The population mean is for those people who have not taken the medication (which is True) and the new mean is for those people who have taken the medication (which is not related to the population mean). In any case, if participants of the sample take a medication, their mean may or may not differ from the population mean but why does that negate the Null hypothesis?
    Please help me with this doubt?
