I saw this tour - June 1994, Vancouver, BC (B.C. Place). This was amazing!! I have loved Pink Floyd all my life. David Gilmour opened my eyes to being a true musician and not just a guitar player. His playing shows so much emotion and passion for the music. Pink Floyd may be gone as a band (RIP Rick Wright - you will be missed), but will live on in the memories of those they touched. I know I am one
The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river Forever and ever man.. o man.... goosebumps.
To compare them to anyone is impossible. There have been many bands who have come and gone, none with the visual power, talent and pure magic of Pink Floyd. The talent and skill of David Gilmour, the late Richard Wright, all the musicians who have ever graced the stagewith Pink Floyd, will last forever. We have well past their kind of talent when we look at the crap produced today. Light up any Pink Floyd DVD or CD and never forget when music was really music.
One of those very rare groups that live sounds awesome, there's just no difference between the studio and the live version. I simply love them, one of the greatest band ever, that's for sure.
I love this song wish I could play like him! Or a lap steel! Its sweet man!!!! He goes from playing a accustic to playin a lap steel! Personally I think Dave Gillmores' a very overlooked artist and guitarist! Guys a genius man!!!
How david gilmour came up with that amazing melody is beyond me. its like the guitars crying. i feel like this is the only song that truly touches my soul
Along the long road and on down to the causeway Do they still LIVE there by the cut There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps Running before time took our dreams away
Pink Floyd have never had a tour called "PULSE". "PULSE" is a Live album and video (later dvd) from the 1994 'Division Bell' tour. The "PULSE" name comes from the blinking light on the side of the first version of the "PULSE" double CD. "PULSE" was released in 1995, not 1994. The official tour programme for this tour clearly states that they were touring in support of 'Divison Bell'. The tour was simply called 'The Division Bell Tour' and had two legs, one American and one European.
In my eyes, still the greatest band on the planet, no band comes anywhere close as they proved at live aid 2005 when they played for the first time since 1981 with roger waters and put all the other bands to shame.
My favourite part of the solo is from 6:52 to 6:58, where the whole band orchestrates four dominant notes and David "repeats" them back on the hawaiian guitar.
I know that feeling I gave up on waiting for that next thing to come along and entertain me so I had to result to writing my own songs : ( I am pretty sure the powers that be want rocknroll to officially be dead.
@antoniolaurus & Deckard1976.
i was round daves house the other day he said 'lee. want me to show you a few licks? ' i said ' fuck off dave, you can just about hold a guitar let alone play it you fraud'. we both collapsed in fits of laughter.for he knew i was right.............oh shit my alarm just went off.....
@nichlaus77 yeah, this song resonates. 1 of the stand-outs in their entire catalog. this song actually turned me onto Floyd after hearing them for decades. with all of the mastery in the music, this 1 got my attention.
David Gilmour can play any musical instrument and the minute it makes a sound you are taken to another place. This and On the turning away off the Delicate Sound of Thunder concert are my 2 fav live songs by them. Yall have got to listen to the solo from Both
you should listen , "Coming back to life" from the divison bell , and first "Comfortably numb" and also "Time" this songs and his philosoficals meanings rally helped during hard times"

@ceepee1000 trust me, he's made his stamp and rock history, and a lot of fans and famous guitar players know this with conviction, and has one of the most memorable solos in rock history with comfortably numb ,as voted in guitar player magazine ! oh and by the way, they were voted the only act in rock history to have a state of the art, live sound and production!..EVER!! it's like being in one giant recording studio, so you can imagine the scale of putting that together !
Not even the English writers can get it together. Nice tribute to the most ENGLISH band you will ever witness! Rick Wright must be making correction notes in his grave.
i heard nightwish version... i like them in other songs but please don't we be blaspheme! it sounds completely like another song and it's not comparable the style and the magnetism.

One of the most wonderful songs ever written... people should learn about songs feeling, unlike nowadays.
one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. It's been a favorite for many years and it never gets old.

The water flowing
The endless river
Forever and ever
man.. o man.... goosebumps.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time... Easily
and One of my favorite solos of all time...

Best Blues&Strat-Player ever, his tone is not from this earth, his feeling interstellar.
No more words.

Seriously, this was/is/will be the best song ever. Wonderful lyrics
This solo and the one in "On the turning away" in the delicate sound of thunder version are simply amazing!
Politicly Rebelious. Beautiful. Enchanting. I wish the song would never end. It is in my soul implanted.
Light up any Pink Floyd DVD or CD. Sit back and remember or discover what real talent and visual power they gave to the world.
Tok me back to the time that was the best but yet the most unsure. Thanks
The emotional storm this song gives to me is something incredible and never felt, makes me feel like I'm travelling through eons.
Everytime I listen to this solo..I get goosebumps..

"The nigts of wonder"
I had one back in 1994 Rotterdam at a Pink Floyd concert.

That was mind-blowingly good
Music that quickly takes your heart out of a spirit and brakes the rules
the greatest live show ever
A lot of Pink Floyd's stuff can be like that. Especially Echoes and Careful With That Axe Eugene.
I lost someone today...this...just..breaks my heart in pieces..it hurts..will it pass,I don't know...
of course, that's the beauty of pink floyd!!
Quiet extraordinary from Gilmour to say the least .. especially the lap still guitar in the end is Brilliant . Period .

There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away

Such a statement brought a tear to my eye, maybe I'm weak, or maybe I'm tired of whats produced today :\
