I was so lucky to have seen him throughout the 70's. I went to many great concerts and Leon was one of the very best to see. He always had a top notch band, backup singers, played piano like no other and was a true showman. He was dynamic, full of energy and got us all going. We'd dance in the aisles and if we were restricted from that, we'd dance in our chairs. You could not sit still at one of his shows. He loved seeing us all dancing and and I even caught him smiling out at us, a few times. His music will live on way.
Whenever I watch vids of his concerts and interviews etc., I'm always drawn to his eyes...wondering if he's just stoned or very very intelligent...seems to be both, and very centered.

Leon Russell and DJ absolutely nailed this performance. I've never heard A Song For You before but I heard people talk about it and now I know why people loved it so much. It's a great song with lots of great potential for other music artist to make their own amazing covers. Leon Russell's performance though... the best. You can feel it. This isn't A Song For You, this is A Song For Us All!
@@mrsafety I always feel like Leon is singing "A Song For You" just for me🩷 He has such beautiful eyes that seem to make a personal connection with everyone. I especially love it when he says "Bless your heart" (for coming)💜 which I believe were the first words he spoke to the audience at a concert in Lacrosse WI., the 1st time I ever saw or knew of him. It was right after his debut solo Leon Russell album released March 1970. Sitting in the middle of the 2nd row, gazing into his eyes, it was love at 1st sight & sound for me.
