I had the privilege of seeing Leon in concert when he was touring with Willie Nelson and I can still see that beautiful silver hair sitting behind his piano. I have always loved Leon Russell from day one. There will never be another one like him.
I live less than 10 miles from Leon Russell's memorial... I've been thinking I need to get down there and spend a moment of reflection and thanks to him . We really miss you brother . PK
Leon ALWAYS sang from his heart ❤ and our hearts ❣️received him so completely. Love this man! Forever! Play on "where there's no space or time"🕊 "there's healing in music, folks"...amen!
I'm from Tulsa. Everyone that loves Leon should come visit. You can tour his infamous Church Studio which has been thoughtfully renovated and designated an official landmark.
I saw an interview yesterday with Willie Nelson where he said Leon Russell was his favourite singer, musician and songwriter. That really something coming from Willie Nelson! Love their music and will till the day I die. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I lived in Oklahoma in the 70's in college. And I saw ol' Leon Russell many of times. With Joe Cocker, Rita Coolidge, the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tours. I don't know why he was never in California. Never toured there. Nobody ever heard of him! But he was so cool. He'd play in a field out in the sun. Regular guy. Tightrope.......A Song For You.......Delta Lady
I sure miss my best friend Michelle from Childhood as Music 🎶 🎵 😢 😪 was always, always a big part ❤ 💙 💔 of our lifes our friends our generation will always be into Heaven I do believe we will be singing and laughing and enjoying life as it used to me as we loved each other in a place where there is no space and time ,I love you for my life you are a friend of mine and I miss you
History. Special People and Special Times. Unity. Oh man to see all the people in this video interacting. Greats. Oh Leon RIP. I missed the era and the message. Wrong age at the time. I just feel like I have to praise our Lord right now. These videos show so much.
AMERICAN LEON RUSSELL TEARIN IT UP ON THE YAMAHA MINI ELCTRIC GRAND PIANO GOIN PLACES WITH THIS AMAZING HOMAGE TO THE GIFT AND HEALING POWER OF MUSIC AND HIS PIANO TEACHER MUCH RESPECT WOW
wow only seen him with long hair and beard can not belive it was him all clean shaven & short hair in the 50s/ 60s i guess there was somebody there after all😌
Greatly composed and a well deserved montage in memory of this positive influence to music and the arts. We're all the richer for it. RIP Leon. Thank you.
I so enjoy seeing photos and hearing him speak. We have his music and his words will never die. If only more people would listen to what he said. God bless Leon I miss being in a world without him. Love that talented man!
Wow...what a great montage over a great live performance of classic Leon...he is missed, but thank God we still have his music to enjoy in perpetuity...
Great video with so many pictures many of which I've never seen before. Thanks for uploading it! I was fortunate enough to see Leon Live at several shows. Thanks for all your great talent & music Leon Russell you are truly missed. May you R.I.P. 🙏🙏🙏
This concert was broadcast live, on radio by WNEW-FM with Willie Nelson and Leon Russell performing from the Capitol Theater in Passaic, New Jersey on the first of April 1979 . Thanks for uploading and all the photos.
@@sharondyal6316 I was lucky enough to get nearly all of his recordings when a local music store went out of business. From Shenandoah to ISB to Byrds, I have so many. We listen to them an awful lot. ELH has been my favorite female vocalist for around 50 years. When GP and ELH came to Cleveland, I was one of the last people who was able to get tickets. WHATTA SHOW!
Leon put that tour together including hiring a 23 piece band, the roadies, the promotions, the film crew and cameramen, bought a plane, scheduled the busses and wrote the arrangements and did the rehearsals - in 3 days. No one can do that. Leon Russell and damn near everyone in the industry.

He was the kindest man in the world!
That is the most beautiful thing you can say about any man😢❤❤
What words can describe his demeanor? So calm & cool & he just rocks it with that clear, unique voice. RIP Leon!
Listened to this song over a hundred times growing up. Still brings a tear to my eye.

FOR YOUR LOVE THERE IS NO SPACE AND TIME R.I.P. LEON
Leon was unique. His look, his voice and his humility. I've always wondered why he rarely smiled, though.
He was smiling on the inside.......
I think he was self conscious about bad teeth.
Liking the star headband. We can all agree on that?
Bless this precious child, Leon Russel... All of us are better for having had you among us and leaving us your spirit in your music.

One of the greatest piano players ever - did get to see him 3 times - once he played through monumental sound problem!
In the shows from the 70s no one could hold up to his performances. Exhilarating & spellbinding. 😍

He was Billboard 100's #1 touring act of 1974. He had the Eagle, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Who and many others opening for him.

For many, many years.

I thought Ray Charles wrote this. Like I thought Delta Lady was a Jagger song.
It was Leon Russel. Phew. Talent, theory and hard work.
I know... such a quiet soul. Talent and humility... they really can coexist. Gives me hope......
What a fabulous montage to such a great musician.
one of the best recordings of this,
I saw them at the Golf Mill theater in the round it was an amazing show!

OK, do I see Gram Parsons sitting in the seat directly in front of Leon? Why yes, I DO! And it appears that Gram has appropriated Leon's top hat

I think he started working as musician when he was 13 or 14.
1 samuel 16-14 -23 bible...and david played on his harp and the evil spirits left saul, and he felt better...music can heal
Can someone please tell me who Kathy is?
So sad that alcohol was his downfall....
Don't miss this guy, at all.
He didn't think much of you that's a fact. You don't have a fucking clue what this guy accomplished.
❤❤Leon had more talent, heart musical ability than you could ever have in your small PEA SIZE BRAIN ❤❤
Donny took this wonderful song to another place and time....R.I.P. to both gentlemen...
