    In my opinion, all your restoration videos are exceptionally good but this one, you knocked it out of the park. Beautiful results!

    Great video and good job on the restoration!
    I would like to ask that you share what your tools are and where they were sourced, e.g. the parts washer and sandblasting booth were from Adendorff as well as your techniques for plating, powder coating and sandblasting. For example what grit you used for sandblasting.
    Also where did you get the spare parts from and indicate that you made the gaskets yourself

    I see the paint you used for this project, do I need to add a clear coat for protection?

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  Год назад

      It's not needed but it could give it an extra bit of shine. Powdercoating is quite durable.

    So did upu ever figure out the purpose of cutting those mounting points off and welding them in a different spot was?

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  Год назад +1

      They tried to modify the engine to operate in a horizontal orientation.

    What size engine was that? Sounded awesome at the end. Be great on a go-cart!! Too bad about your manifold melting - I don't imagine that would be easily sourced.

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  Год назад

      175cc 6.5HP motor, yes they do make great gocart engines. I will be casting or making my own manifold for it in the near future. They are really hard to get, that's why I tried 3D printing one.

    that 3D Printing was a foolish Idea : you can 3D print in plastic and use that as a molding die for Metal casting or make a new part in CNC that works better .

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  Год назад +1

      Like everyone does metal casting and has a CNC. I would say the 3d print turned out great. Yes it wont last long, but it was enough to test the engine.

  • @nicholas790
    @nicholas790 Год назад +1

    Colors are garish, and period incorrect. The mechanical restoration was nice but without the decals and those garish color substitutions I would call it a “restomod” at best, hardly a restoration.

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  Год назад +1

      Restoration is a really broad term. I chose those colors because its what I wanted. I almost always customize my restorations. If I mentioned that I restored this to original, then yes this would not be a restoration.
