I really enjoyed you clear and concise presentation. Thank you so much! New at wood work (4 years) and always enjoy learning from experienced people. 😀

I thought about making wood gutters a couple years ago and just couldn't come up with a simple idea. Thanks for this!!

thanks for posting... you gave me an idea. I may use a similar idea to make a 10' long down spout extension that will lay on the ground.

Thanks! been racking my brains trying to find something to use as rustic looking channels on a water feature I'm building and never though to simply channel out some 2 x 2s! Luckily I have plenty of offcuts left after building a summerhouse last year!

I really like the concept you’ve got going here and there definitely aren’t a lot of videos on wooden gutters on RUclips. The gutter is very narrow, do you ever find that it can’t keep up heavy rain? I’m interesting in building one soon and I’m just toying with ideas right now

Thank you. Truthfully, we really don’t get a lot of heavy rain in the Washington State area. Just a constant, nonstop, prolonged drizzle that lasts for month after weary month. My biggest problem I have with the gutters is the drain hole getting plugged with needles. I have not come up with a solution for that yet. (seems cutting down the neighbors trees is not an option). I did play around with a gutter made into a 2X4. It was plenty wide enough to carry lots of water, but did not look esthetically pleasing. I think a 4 X 4 would have looked much better. With that said, I am sure you will have lots of fun building them. Good Luck!!
