Thanks for talking about this Angie! I am a TINY creator and was invited to attend. Samantha and Cymbre did an amazing job with not making it about subscriber/followers. It was such an inclusive and positive environment. Literally no one talked about how many subscribers they had or asked anyone else.

i adore soooo many of the creators that attended, and i was OVER THE MOON to see allie dawson there, because i hoped and prayed that she’d be invited and be able to go!!! i cried while watching her video when she mentioned the “girl scout” thing, because as a makeup obsessed disabled person in a wheelchair, i’ve always felt left out. it was lovely to see my girlies nicole and cierra there as well, and i had no idea that they were invited. it sounds AMAZING to be around people that are just like yourselves. i’m so happy that sam and cymbree were able to make this trip happen. i have to admit that i’m extremely jealous that you got to make nail polishes with clionadh and meet kiki, because i adore them!!! thank you so much for answering these questions. i’m not a big influencer whatsoever compared to the people there in new orleans, but i would LOVE to attend any one of the events. ♥️♥️♥️
I think that from a business perspective it does make sense to participate in these types of events. As a creator you strengthen ties with people who do the same thing as you and can support you. As a sponsor, even if there is no commitment to publicize your product, you are linking your brand to a positive experience of this group, such as when we remember what perfume or what we use in a trip we enjoyed.
Honestly, it reminds me of a business seminar I attend as a fiction writer. I spend most of my time talking about the business with other writers and trading tips and notes. Yeah, there's educational stuff going on too, but the connections and friendships I make are worth way more.
I love that this event is about meeting people and solidifying or beginning new relationships!

This sounds like it was such a wonderful trip! I didn't have a lot of friends in my 20s either and I've always dreamed of doing a group/friends trip. This is a goal I'm setting for myself in my 30s and 40s as well. Congrats on creating this community Angie! It's so inspiring 🥰🥰🥰

I’m from Melbourne! If you want to see Victorian nature, Wilson’s Promontory and Cape Otway/the Great Ocean road are incredible. I’m fairly well traveled and they remain my favourite places in the world!

If you like outdoor stuff or are a fan of the Lord of the Rings, it is only a couple hour flight to go to New Zealand from Australia. I personally feel that New Zealand is not worth the trans-pacific flight by itself but it is great side trip. We stayed 2 nights in New Zealand and 8 in Australia and it was so much fun.

I'm 41 and have only done a couple of friends trips ever. So so thankful to finally have a couple of healthy, fun friends to do things with. I'm not doing any of y'alls trips, but this conversation is seriously hyping me up for my upcoming friends trip.

I honestly think that sigma palette has the perfect cool toned shades. Even the warmer shades appear to have a cool base or lean more cool. I can’t wait to try this palette.
I’ve had Salt New York for a year and I really love it. It fades away so nicely it doesn’t get patchy.
The friends/creators trips sound fun, especially if you are already friends with a couple people. Meeting 40 new people on a trip would be too much for me personally, but group trips with close friends is something I've always wanted to do.
For eyeshadow palettes I prefer a mix of cooler/warmer shades within a color range. I have hooded & deeply set eyes so I generally do a bit of sculpting to my eyes & need a good range of light to dark shades as well as neutral, warm & cool (er) I like having a cool dark shade that isn't black to use as liner regardless of whether the overall color story is warm/neutral. If you want an entirely cool or warm palette from Sigma I suggest trying one of their 9 pans with a more curated colorstory.

You nails look so good. Perfect for spring! I built a large Salt New York palette of blushes, bronzers and highlighters. I used it once and forgot about it. I recently remembered it and need to use it, though not a huge fan so may just give it to my daughter. I like an occasional cream blush but not so much a cream bronzer or highlighter, and I find theirs not to go on well or last long on me. Unfortunately regret that purchase.

I love Salt NY for my dry skin, but I think you definitely need to powder with your skin type. The sneaky balm is meant to be a very light coverage and I actually love to apply it just with fingers for the best finish, but I know fingers aren't your thing. I also really like the new concealer, but I think less is more because it is pretty creamy. It all looks beautiful on you!

That was a great look and a very nice tea session. I’m glad that there were no horrible stories and only a few uncomfortable moments. Surratt isn’t very inclusive. It is primarily Asian in aesthetic and manufacturing and hasn’t really expanded much beyond that. Perhaps they should have brought something more universal as a complimentary gift for those who wouldn’t fit their colour palette?

Just for perspective -- Maybe it seems brand-centered (or more like work-related) to outsiders because for us non-creators, we wouldn't have allotted time to listen to brand owners during our vacation..but i also get what you're saying that it's not brand specific centered in a way because of the no strings attached arrangement, and it's actually fun for you to talk about makeup anyway 😊
Yeah and the owners talk for 5 minutes tops so even if it's not for you, you can just do a bathroom break and it's over when you're back 😂

I am a cool tone lover. I don't think a pallet needs to be all gray to be cool toned. I actually prefer taupe over gray most of the time. From my perspective sigma pallets are mostly warm and neutral so this to me is just not enough of a difference to get me to purchase. No hate for the pallet.
