Hey Dan, love your videos. Helped me a ton. May I ask, what's the reason for applying butter on a damp beard?
I've observed that whenever I do that, I get dips/curls in my beard.

    Great Video DanC!
Same for me! I’m a shower in the evening guy.
    Shower, Oil, Wait 5+min, Butter!
    That’s all folks!
That waiting period after applying oil is so critical. You’ve got to give the oil time to absorb into the skin and hair. If you apply oil, then immediately apply butter or even balm.. you’re not going to have the benefits of applying the oil in the first place. You see so many videos of people using oil and they’re just patting the outside of their beard and forming it. UGH! Gotta get that oil deep down to the skin and roots!
    Oil - WAIT 5+min - Butter!!!!

I can't really add or change anything because my routine is just like yours. Your nighttime routine works perfect for me so why change anyting about it. Last night I did use Husky Beard beard butter (cabin fever) and the feel is absolutely incredible. It is a whipped butter but in beard it's a thicker consistency, which is much different then the other whipped butters I've used. I wish I picked up more during their BOGO sale but it's definitely a company I'll be buying from again soon. I love trying new and different butters, so when I find something so different I'm really excited to share my experience. You were absolutely right on this one Dan C!

Shew I have to take a shower at night. Just feel too dirty to go straight to bed lol. But if I don't blow dry at night my beard gets super wavy and stuff when it gets wet do by morning it's so stuck in those waves I can't style it even when I wet it and blow dry it again. So basically I end up doing the same blow dry styling morning and night. If not it's a mess...

Hi DanC I don't shower before bed but I do wash my hands and face plus brush my teeth.. So obviously the beard gets beard shampoo on it as I'm washing my face.. Same routine in the morning.. So what advice can you give if you're beard isn't soaking wet but rather towel damp just on the surface hair after washing the top of the face.. Always seems a grey area to me as its not shower wet but rather just the outside hairs getting wet.
    Cheers DanC

@Dan , is butter better than pudding (probably)? I'm still pretty new to using "product" in my beard. At night, I started using ConMan Beard Pudding, and it helps me to Not have a crazy morning beard. Without the pudding my morning beard will have a big flat spot on one side and the other side will have a 45-degree angle pointing outward. The ConMan pudding was the first beard product I ever bought. It was recommended by my haircut lady, so I assume she doesn't really know since she doesn't have a beard of her own LOL. Doctor Nick's butter will probably be my next purchase to replace the Pudding.
