Even with the polished UI of Arc, I'm still sticking to Vivaldi for its amazing customizability. Yes, it can feel clunky sometimes, but I had no issues with websites, chrome extensions work out of the box and you can switch between horizontal and vertical tabs on the fly. Love Vivaldi!
Agreed. I use Vivaldi, and I've been trying Arc since late February. Most of what I see in Arc is either available in Vivaldi or cool, but not something I'm interested in. Spaces are a good example. I don't have separate accounts that I use for different things (e.g., two X accounts or two Facebook accounts) so separating my profiles like that isn't really necessary for me. Workspaces are enough for me to just keep my tabs organized. And combined with tab stacks, I think you can have a lot more going on in Vivaldi (in a more organized way) than you can have with Arc. The potential of Boots looks cool, though.
I will say one thing about the vertical sidebar, you can hide it (there's a shortcut but I have a custom one set so idk the default one). You can check it by going into settings
It is the best way to operate the sidebar, so you will have a full webpage with no distraction and if you wanna switch tabs (that you wouldn't so often) you just hitting the shortcut
One thing I found funny was that Microsoft Edge has a lot of the core features of Arc and more without the extra fluff, such as vertical tabs, picture-in-picture, access to Chrome extensions, tracker blocking, sidebar apps, AI, and a lot more. It's light on memory also, and comparing the vertical tabs experience to Arc browser, it's almost identical. Arc seems unnecessary as most of the extra features can be easily replicated with extensions.
Feels like he's not a power user of any other browser, it's all magic to him. Bro, you can do all of it in chrome. The only thing that I like about arc is ctrl+tab to switch between tab and auto hide the tabs bar. But tbh I like the group feature of chrome more than spaces, and folder in arc.
I'm unsure why Arc browse is an entirely different product on Mac and on Windows. On windows, it doesn't stand a chance against any other browser including Edge, it's appallingly underwhelming.
I believe that it is not hard, I think it depends on your usage. I am still getting to know the ARC Browser better. But what I've done so far with it told me that it's not the average Browser for everyone. It's kind of hard to navigate with a Mouse, but it's great if you know the keyboard Shortcuts by heart. Thats one reasons for me to use Arc. As a developer and tech savvy person I like if I don't have to use my mouse very often. So without mouse it can be pretty fast. But this is just my opinion :)
