  • It's easy to get caught up in the problems of the world and forget that we have the power to make a difference in this world with our gardens. #gardens #gardenanswer #bees
Gardens provide a much needed sanctuary for people and the little critters we share creation with. We can make a difference.
This video shows some of the pollinators visiting my Zone 6A garden in southeast Michigan. They're loving the new pollinator-friendly garden.

My garden was filled with bees this year, what amazed me was the fact that they did not seem to mind me working among them. My garden is my happy place.

Just lovely. would you mind sharing the name of the plant with delicate white flowers at 1:43?

Thank you. That is a white flowering nepeta called Calamintha Nepeta. I bought them from Bluestone Perennials.

Bees in the garden make me happy. We need them and I intentionally grow what will attract them. Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden! 🌺

What is the plant at 1:10? I think I saw one at a Minneapolis-area garden center and passed it up because this year I'm focusing on plants in purples and blues (and saving expenses by "shopping" in my garden).
A week ago, after toiling so long and hard this season in my renovated front garden, I sat amongst the plants and took delight watching the bumblebees selecting different areas of my nepeta and hyssop blooms to feed upon. 😊

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the fruits of your labor. That makes it worth the effort, doesn't it. The plant at time stamp 1:10 is Persicaria orientalis 'Cerise Pearls' (common name is Kiss-me-over-the-garden-gate). It is considered invasive in some states so you should check with your local extension office. I will also warn you that they attract Japanese beetles so if those are an issue in your garden, you may not want to add them. I grew them from seed. The variety I selected is shorter than the traditional cottage garden variety. I love them!

      What a rude person.
